  1. If tommy has quit I'd like duff back yeah , who wouldn't but I don't want slash back and don't think he'd do it

why don't you want Slash back? he's the best guitar player GNR has ever had, and he wrote all those riffs and solos we all love...

Eh, maybe because I'd hate to see a band in which the frontman and lead guitarist hate each other and perform together on stage only because the cash is going to be bigger...

They both seem happy being separated from each other, why change that? I don't need to see them faking friendship on stage just to perform AFD again and again. (before you say it, I'm also SICK of seeing NuGnR performing AFD too)

Anyway, on topic, it would not change anything; I've always loved Duff and a big part of it was that he does what he wants and he does not let the media, trends or management tell him what to do. So if he rejoins GnR full-time I'd think that he does it for good reasons (regarding his legal status in the band, songwriting input and releasing music...)

I like Tommy for being there for a long time, stage presence and for putting up with Axl for so long, but Duff (alongside Izzy) has always been my favorite member of classic GnR besides Axl.

  2. When Paul McCartney starts playing shows as The Beatles I'll give him a hard time as well. It's exactly what Axl does with GNR.

Well... to be honest the same thing could have been said about Megadeth 2005-2010. Only Mustaine was left, and still it was not called a "cover-band".

And when it comes to metal, what about Napalm Death? no original members left.

Mötörhead? The Beach Boys? All Marks of Deep Purple?

I mean, I understand your point, but there are tons of bands in which 2/3rd of the members quit, and the remaining decide to go on with the show.

The REAL issue is just Slash. People wouldn't care if Axl would bring a GnR semi-reunion with Izzy, Duff, Dizzy, Matt or Steven + some other guys like Wylde instead of the Slashman.

They even could accept GnR as it is with Slash replacing Ashba.

The whole "cover band" argument is hypocritical as far as I'm concerned, since 90% of those critics would be satisfied with Axl & Slash playing alonside Ferrer, Stinson & Fortus.

Well, maybe I'm wrong after all, but that's just my opinion.

  3. What bullet logo?

    i0YSDAy.jpg

Y'know what, I'm about to make myself look like the fuckin' thickest cunt ever fuckin' born here but what the hell, i never noticed until this moment that that had anything to do with a bullet  And i been listen to GnR since 1992. Actually, i still can't fathom how thats a bullet, what like the head of a bullet or the back of the bullet? I thought it was like a crest type thing

Holy shit, you're not the only one.

I've had 2 shirts with that logo, a back patch, I even drew it on my school notebooks...

never noticed it was the back of a bullet...

  4. I've read about it a few days ago...

Would be fun to imagine who's gonna play which part...

I will probably be about his youth in Seattle, his drugs/Alcohol demons and his "resurrection". I don't expect more than 20 minutes about GnR.

His book was great, but if there is a movie to be made about GnR, I'd prefer something that starts with the genesis of the band (let's say Axl/Izzy/Duff calling Slash & Adler to form a band) and ends with the break-up.

    That's just my opinion.

  5. I simply don't see Slash willing to share the spotlight with Axl.

At this stage of his career, he wants to be the center of his own band, staying with a correct singer with no personality such as Myles is perfect for him; He's the star of his band named after him.

re-uniting with Axl and Duff will relegate him to "co-star" a band that was famous 25 years ago. I highly doubt he wants to do that. He would surely prefer playing the classics with his own band, no big crowd, no big ego singer to share the stage/spotlight/camera with...

If a reunion ends up with Axl and Slash on the same stage, never watching or interacting with one another, that would suck big time. You can't really fake friendship on stage as far as I'm concerned.

My guess is that Duff will be back, Vrain too, Izzy would probably jump in for a few shows and co-write some songs... For the lead guitarist position, I have no idea...

  6. I don't know what's the definition of "progressive" the OP holds for truth, but it is certainly far from mine.

What I consider as prog is a song that is very long compared to standard pop and/or rock formats

==> 8.42 is not that long (check out Rush, Genesis, or even Dream Theater...)

    No clear Intro/verse/Chorus/solo/Outro formula

==> Locomotive respects the usual rock song formula

    Unusual tempo, rythm variations, complexity

==> not locomotive at all : Rythm stays the same. Plus, I don't really have the impression that there is a lot of variations in key. Even the soli are the exact same type as every Slash soli (does not mean they are bad). Drums are laughable on how they are predictable, which IMHO puts that song far far far away from the prog genre.

I don't really think the song progresses into something else. It's pretty linear until the outro. The outro is brilliant, but it seems like it's an other song that is pasted...

Well, that said, I don't have the pretention to be the only one who knows what prog rock is or must be, and I can be wrong.

  7. people claiming CD is iether the best album of the 00's ir the worst of the 00's are trolling. It's not any of those.

It's a solid rock record, probably overproduced. No more, no less.

    Better that TSI? ?

What an odd comparision... Comparing a cover album with an album of original material with 80% different members...

Compare CD with the leaks, or even compare CD with contraband or libertad if you want to compare old vs new...

And let's not even start comparing CD with Shakira or Kanye West... I can't see anything in common between NuGnR and those artists. Therefore, nothing to compare IMHO.
