Have you heard "ain't life grand"?

I actually LOVE that album and I would say that on a given day I could prefer that one. Rod Jackson was an amazing singer. So yes, have heard it, probably 100 times lol. Great album, I still love Duff’s first album.

most consistent of solo albums would be Izzy. Not a bad one in the bunch. There are a few Duff and Slash albums I’m not a huge fan of. But like all things gnr related, even the not so good is still pretty good :)

That's just one dealer here in the US that I know of. I'm sure it'll be available elsewhere with cheaper shipping :)

I've never actually heard this album. I was thinking of blind buying it just for the hell of it.

It’s by far the best solo album of any member. I still listen to it today. And if you’ve heard any other Duff solo album, they don’t compare. Believe in Me is miles ahead better than his other albums

I've never heard Ain't Goin Down so that would actually be a new GNR song for me if they do release it :D

Was it ever released on a bootleg or something? I thought it was only available on the GNR pinball machine so never thought of looking for an mp3 for some reason. Think it's the only GNR song I've never heard so hope it's a banger

Since you never heard it, I would hold out a little longer to see if it’s released on the box set. It’ll be more exciting for you.

it’s a good song and I guess it reminds me of Don’t Damn Me for some reason. And neither song sounds the same

  4. I can never understand this question. It’s basically saying “would you rather not have about 15 songs “. If people prefer a single album, it’s easy to create your personal favorite UYI disc or playlist. Songs like shotgun blues, get in the ring, bad apples, etc etc may not be the best songs from UYI, but even the “not as good songs” are still killer songs and much better than most music

  5. At this point, I’ve been a fan since 1988 when I first discovered them, I’m just happy to listen to bootlegs from shows from 1986-1993 with a few 2002-2010 shows sprinkled in. Axl and the band were so good then I just listen to bootlegs and that satisfies me at this point. I’ve given up hope on a new album and hope the UYI box set is good

It would be cool if at least some of the Arkeen demos were released, but I don't know if GNR would be able to release stuff like Just Another Sunday, Crash Diet, etc.

    01 - Crash Diet (04:52)
    02 - The Garden (05:05)
    03 - Too Much Too Fast (06:30)
04 - Sunny Lovers Day [DOES NOT CIRCULATE]
05 - Walk On By [DOES NOT CIRCULATE]
06 - Martyr Of The 20th Century [DOES NOT CIRCULATE]
07 - Bad Obsession [Izzy Stradlin on vocals] (05:02)
    08 - Just Another Sunday (04:35)
    09 - Bring It Down Home (05:44)
10 - Sentimental Movie [Duff Mckagan on vocals] (04:43)
11 - Second Time Loser [DOES NOT CIRCULATE]
12 - Drinkin [DOES NOT CIRCULATE]
13 - Make Your Play [DOES NOT CIRCULATE]
    14 - Yesterdays (03:40)
    15 - Crash Diet [Alternate mix] (04:27)
    16 - Drum Machine Instrumental #1 (03:32)
    17 - Drum Machine Instrumental #2 (03:34)
18 - It's So Easy [Acoustic, DOES NOT CIRCULATE]

Bad Obsession, The Garden and Yesterdays in decent quality would be nice.

I just listened to this demo the other day and forgot how good some of these songs were. For the most part, none of these would be good enough to make a gnr album, but still very cool songs to listen too.

I would die to hear the acoustic It’s so easy

That's a weird way to spin a negative (no video) into a positive. We are getting the audio no matter what. What you are "down" for is to not get something that will make it infinitely better. It's a cop out if they don't release the video footage aswell. No way to see all the stuff that was going on like the Pizza delivery, couch etc. during the shows. Ontop of that, if they only release it in audio it WILL be edited, and not a full unedited concert, because they will cut out all the pauses/talk/banter/anything that isn't the performance for the audio track of the songs.

If any banter between songs is removed I will be really pissed 😡 that’s part of the fun of all the old gnr shows

I don't know what the Vegas show was shot on, but at least the audio was professionally recorded. I've seen some decent remasters of that Yesterdays pro-shot so I think they'd at least be able to remaster the video at 1080p?

Ritz (and Pantages theatre, and possibly the Warfield theatre) were shot on film, so I would assume at least that show will be released on video, probably blu-ray.

It would be great if they did a compilation of the warm-up shows, even if it's just audio. I need to hear at least part of that Pantages theatre show, it's my UYI-era grail.

I need to hear Bad Apples from Pantages!

Hi guys, still around from afar! Those were the days haha! We all spent lots of time for the community, was really fun and inspiring, long before YouTube took over. :)

About the latest guy with "rare stuff" yes it usually ends up like this, unfortunately. I do remember another one who claimed to have Vienna 92 pro-shot or something like that. And yet another one with Rio/Sao Paulo 92 pro-shots as well...of course nothing ever came out. And yet, sometimes you get Ritz 87, CBGB 87, St Louis 91, etc. Still waiting for the Ritz 91 or Inglewood 91 complete pro-shots, if they ever come out! (don't want to start a rumor - I never heard someone having them)

Ritz 91 would be so bad ass. I love the smaller club shows

I had a discussion a few years ago with a fellow poster who was very switched on with this and it seems that the ‘talking’ you hear has been cut and moved around. There was a tape purchased in 2020 by someone of the gig (a collector) and the setlist of the tape cover has it as Paradise, KOHD, Rosie, KOHD.

Certainly seems like the discussions in between have been moved about (and you can actually hear bits that sound out of place where a cut has been made). Why? Who knows!

Thank you, this makes sense. I was listening to the show the other night and it was driving me crazy thinking I had the audio tracks out of order. But, when looking at all set list you can google, none ever showed KOHD before Paradise and thus the confusion

  11. 7 hours ago, Neider said:

I think this is the correct one. KOHD was played twice, although in the bootlegs it is only once and is the same as in the Appetite deluxe from three years ago.

    https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/guns-n-roses/1987/marquee-club-london-england-2bd65032.html

But at the end of paradise, Slash gets on the mic and says “they are going to do heavens doors again because the crowd wasn’t loud enough the first time.

  12. Everywhere you look, the set list for the June 28, 1987 Marquee show, have Knocking on Heavens Door played twice after Paradise City. But when you listen to the bootlegs, at the end of Paradise City, Slash says “we’re going to play Knocking On Heaven’s Door again because you weren’t loud enough”

so what’s the correct set list? Obviously Knocking had to be played before Paradise
