  1. Not seeing the fuss over the photo. Axl looks like a 53-year-old man, actually, better than your average 53-year-old man.

I've never seen a fanbase more obsessed with how a member of their favorite band LOOKS than Guns N' Roses fans with Axl Rose. I'm really more concerned with how he sounds.

He can eat as many burgers as he wants and be over 200kg's, thats not my problem. My problem is that some fans are saying he looks good as a rockstar at this age, look at Steven tyler, hell look at Robert Plant man. They look awesome in regards to their age. Duff is not a 20 year old kid, he is 51, but look how fit he is.

Again, I'm not seeing the obsession over how the man looks. Is it really going to matter to you when you're at a live show watching them perform, whether he is 10-15 pounds overweight?

I hate to get morbid, but Scott Weiland looked fantastic in recent years (at least as far as physical fitness goes, in terms of his body and weight) but what did it really matter if he couldn't perform at a high level anymore?

If Axl can sound somewhat similar to how he did 20 years ago, I'm really not concerned in the least about if he looks similar to how he did 20 years ago.

I'm really more concerned with how he sounds.

And you genuinely see no link between that and his physical condition?

I don't really see how stuffing his face with In N Out double-double's is going to effect his voice one way or the other. Some of the greatest tenors in history have been overweight. Brian Johnson still sounds amazing at AC/DC shows even though he looks like a flabby car mechanic.

  2. I hope you guys realize that to have those ads played before star wars cost millions. Literally, millions of dollars. Stop kidding yourself that they are promoting anything other than a reunion.

There must be big, big sponsor money behind this reunion to pay for an ad like that. I'm anxiously awaiting the announcement of the "Guns N' Roses 2016 World Tour - Presented By American Express" :headbang:

  3. Great news if true. I would take it with a grain of salt, though. We don't know what Slash meant by what he said. I would definitely wait for another interview where he confirms he has talked to Axl.

Also, Axl and Slash talking does not mean they are in good terms now. It probably means they will be in good terms as time goes by. These guys have not talked in almost 20 years, they have a lot to catch up. There are a lot of "misunderstandings, she said/he said" things to discuss and solve. I mean, Slash is currently busy with his solo band and Axl - presumably - is working on something regarding his own project. Do people really think that only one talk will somehow transform in an instant reunion? No fucking way. If a "reunion" is a possibility (and I bet there are zero chances of that ever happening), it would happen in years.

At this point, all I care about is Axl being able to mend fences with the best lead guitarist Guns N' Roses has ever had. And Slash being able to mend fences with the best frontman he has ever worked with.

If they sat together in a restaurant for a few hours, discussed their own shit, and shook hands in the end, I, as a Guns N' Roses fan, am happy. So, crossing my fingers they really talked to each other.

    Great post

This is almost exactly how i feel about this issue

It's hilarious that people over here looses their shit because of this, but this is gonna be great in the long run.

I would bet 2017 could be a great year to mend fences and share the stage together, but that would be a bonus after all these years

If they reconcile their relationship, that's enough

I do not think Axl is capable of pulling off a great performance vocally (aka. 110%=2010)

Oh I have no doubt that he could do it with enough time to prepare, but doing it night in and night out on a World Tour is probably out of the question at this point.

And when you listen to everybody's discography, only Axl Rose has been able to deliver us music that is worthy of the name "Guns n' Roses".

    THIS

    Great music + Great lyrics....

I don't think anything the former members released after they left GN'R stacked up to Chinese Democracy. Certainly not Snakepit, VR, or Loaded. Chinese Democracy smoked their asses.

Snakepit and VR had some cool stuff, but I think that CD was the best Gn'R related thing we had so far.

    Just my 2 cents.

Oh hell yeah. I liked the albums but I think Chinese blew them out of the water.

The majority of Guns N' Roses fans, music press and the record-buying public strongly disagree with these sentiments. But fuck, what do they know? You guys are the experts.

Where are you getting the "majority" from? I've read good reviews, mixed reciews, seen postive feedback.

I don't get where people are getting the "majority" from, they all think they have a shared opinion.

The majority I'm referring to is Contraband outselling Chinese Democracy and generally getting better reviews.

That sounds to me like the music fans saying: "We like Velvet Revolver better".

EDIT: I'm speaking about strictly in the United States.

  6. Meanwhile on H.T.G.T.H., Jarmo saying that Slash & Duff are not original members but just a past lineup, and Axl is the only remaining original member since Izzy has left...

    What a jerk...

    What?

Oh well, if you flew around the world on tour on Axl's dime, you'd post crazy, nonsensical shit too

    Hahahaha. Why? Because he's right?

I know that you wish that you could rewrite reality, but Axl and Izzy are the only original members in the classic lineup.

"Original lineup" to the RRHOF and most people, starts with the first recorded album. Anyone else prior doesn't count.

    Enjoy your fantasy.

The only people living a fantasy are those who think anyone really gives a shit who the "original" members are.

  7. Now that I'm thinking about this whole thing, it should be amazing if Slash would have said: "And finally, I wanted to thank Axl Rose, he didn't want to be here but wherever you are "my friend", thank you!". I would have cried :).

that would have been pretty cool

Oh wow, I could tear up just reading that. Pity he didn't think of it himself - how powerful that would have been.

He probably wanted to, but Axl explicitly asked in the letter not to be named or associated with the band at all. He probably would have sued anyone who mentioned his name. Chris Rock can probably expect a lawsuit of some sort.

  8. Do any of you "real" Axl fans think he wouldn't actually be having a blast if he was there partying with all these guys? As bitter an old man as he's become, I think he's going to regret not attending this.

Or maybe not. Maybe he's happy being holed up in his room eating cheetos and watching it on a choppy Internet stream.

maybe he is happy making a stand he believed in?

Which is....? What? There was really no good reason not to go.

Everyone has moments in their life where they look back and say, "Fuck, I was stupid - I really should/shouldn't have done that". I think while watching this, and you KNOW Axl is fucking watching this right now, he's going to regret not being part of it.

he didnt want to be used by a sham of an organization to gain money and get ratings by promoting the reunion angle. axl said fuck that why is that such a bad thing? if an organization was honoring you and were going to make you pay money to get in the door and charge you money to have your friends and family go in and you knew they were just using you to make money and increase their ratings you would go and smile all the way doing it?

Who was promoting a reunion angle? Literally, I don't think I've heard one person legitimately say "Oh man, GNR is gonna show up at the HOF and then reunite and go on a world tour!".

It's just more paranoia from the Axl nuthuggers.

  11. Man, listen to that insane scream. INSANE. That's how it should have sounded. Myles will never do that song justice. NEVER. He's got the range, but lacks the vocal power and probably Axl's range as well.

It's funny how you have such an issue with someone else singing a GNR song, but you probably have no problem paying to watch a dweeb like DJ Ashba or Robin Finck butchering solo after solo on GNR songs.

Look, I can point out plenty of YouTube videos where Axl's voice sounds worse than many GNR impersonators I've heard in my life. Myles is no Axl, but he's a damn good singer who does the songs justice.

  12. sorry for venting guys but axl still devotes his life to gnr and gives his all every show. it sucks to see this group of people up there that have quit this band.

The Hall of Fame is going to release footage of the event to media outlets, and on every local news broadcast tomorrow morning you will hear "Guns N' Roses were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night" with footage of Myles fronting the band.

    Axl just fucked himself royally.

wrong. media propaganda doesnt rule many.

Right, because Axl has never been known to let media coverage affect him in any way.
