  1. There's no way I'm going back 32 pages, so what I'm going to say may have already been said, but I think Axl is seriously discounting the fact that due to his Hermit-like behavior, a lot of people coming to the shows have no fucking idea who is in the band. If you went outside right now and lined up 10 random people, I bet eight of them would say "Slash" if you asked them who the guitarist of Guns N' Roses is. So imagine the surprise of Average Joe who sees that GNR is coming to his town, hops on Ticketmaster to get the tickets, throws on his old Slash shirt and top hat and heads to the show, when he realizes that he can take his shirt, his ticket, and fuck off.

  2. Completely agree with the original poster.

When you read what Axl is saying on here about the band not being close and knowing it was over for years before the band broke up, it completely contradicts everything he was saying back then. He said in countless interviews that THAT band was and would always be Guns N' Roses. That he couldn't imagine being Guns N' Roses with anyone else and that nno matter what problems would arise, he and Slash would always have a bond that would keep them together, etc. etc. etc.

But now he's saying the same shit about the current band (meanwhile, he won't actually answer the question of whether there even IS a band or not). So if Axl is to be believed, everything he used to say about the old band was complete bullshit, so why would I believe what he's saying now about new Guns?

  3. No offense, but Axl sounds bitter as fuck. Especially about Slash. We're supposed to believe that everything that has happened is someone else's fault and EVERYTHING we've been told about him are all lies.

I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

People love sayin' that middle trip. Easy to say but not so easy to prove.

Unfortunately it's not in the middle and I can back up every last line in my bit or I wouldn't be here.

You love his work and whatever else. More power to you!

And no, I'm not bitter at least in the sense of how you used it conveys. Felt good gettin' some of that off my chest and as I said that's just the tip.

If that's your honest impression it's definitely not rose colored lenses you're wearing. And I looked up the definition of bitter once in a pocket dictionary and got "having anger at something unjust or evil". I'm not angry but when I am with this particular someone who I thought was once my friend... the definition fits.

If you can prove everything then I will fully admit how right you are. But then again, how would you go about proving it all to us? It's kind of an empty statement because there's no time or resources to present the tapes/documents to prove to every Guns fan that what you're saying is the truth. So we just have to believe it or not believe it.

Axl, I'm not calling you a liar. I think there's plenty of truth in what you're saying. But you're trying to pin basically EVERY SINGLE THING that has happened over the years on Slash or the media and shit like that. Only truly gullible fucks or people who are just too excited about you being here to question you are going to believe that.

Thank you for posting anyway. It's really cool to come do this and you still kick ass in my book, even if I do like Slash a little more.

This forum is full of Slash loving pricks like yourself who will never believe(accept) the truth if it involves anything negative against Slash. Why waste your time being pedantic?

Axl is here spilling the beans, and it's fuckin' great.

So everything Axl says is the truth and everyone else is lying?

  5. Axl paints this picture that Slash is some egotistical control freak while he just sat back and watched everything happen

How ironic. I don't think that's the picture he paints at all - If anything, I think that's the picture that Slash has been painting of him for so many years.

Well in this note alone he says Slash said "fuck Izzy and Axl" and tried to take over the stage during live shows, tried to control all the recording of the Illusion albums and basically blames him for all the legal issues that have happened over the years. He blames him for the failure to ever record a new album with the old band and blames him for the negative perception people have of Axl.

Like I said, everything is someone else's fault.

Believe whatever it is you want to believe. If you want to be cynical then that's your prerogative, but I feel like that's probably the most honest answer we've ever had in regards to the name.

I just have a hard time believing that Axl is just some innocent bystander in everything and I hope he reads this. Axl paints this picture that Slash is some egotistical control freak while he just sat back and watched everything happen, and then Slash got fed up and left. That everything that ever happened negatively with the band was someone else's doing.

I don't think we're ever going to get the REAL truth.

  7. All Mysteron said was "nothing confirmed." Doesnt mean it's not happening, just means there's been no announcement officially as of yet.

So if it is released, he looks smart for saying it was going to be released.

If it isn't released..well, he looks smart because he said "nothing is confirmed", meaning it could change.

That's how you get a reputation as an "insider".

  8. All you old relics saying this song sucks need to stop living in the 90s! Chris Cornell is EVOLVING. He's TRYING SOMETHING NEW! He's INNOVATING and CHANGING with the times!

This is what's hip and modern and cool. If you want to listen to old washed up crap like Soundgarden, grab your flannel shirts, get a time machine and go back to the 90s!!!111!!!!

  9. The frontman of Wolfmother is pulling an Axl Rose and continuing on with the band name and finding a new drummer and bassist. It's more understandable when you have a big, long-standing, established band, but to do this after only one album? Just do a solo album.

I think it make much more sense to do it with a band like Wolfmother. Like, if he releases another album under the Wolfmother name, is anyone going to give a shit that whoever was playing guitar/drums, etc. before isn't there now? Is anyone even going to notice?

Wolfmother was just awful though. So here's hoping they actually are broken up and the band members are never ever heard frmo again.

  10. Picture this, what if Guns came to Mexico, playing nine new songs and a bunch of obscure material of the Illusion albums.

Don't you think the fans would be pissed not hearing Nightrain, Paradise City and November Rain?

Sure, it'd please the forums but the shows are meant to enjoy those attending (and perhaps for the first time), not some conspiracy theorists on an internet forum.

Sure, but what's the excuse for every other show Axl has done in the last five years?

You people don't get it. The audience Axl was playing in front of means JACK SHIT. You can try to use the excuse that the crowd in Mexico wanted to hear the old stuff - OK, here's the problem, it's the SAME setlist from the U.S. tour in 2002. It's the SAME setlist from last summer's European tour. It's the SAME setlist from last year's U.S. tour. Now we're back to another tour and it's still the SAME setlist.

  11. Yeah i get kind of annoyed when I log in and everytime there's a new VR story..... why....?

Because there are no GNR news stories.

EDIT: damnit, someone beat me to it!

  12. So is all this just a cash grab in disguise???

Oh please. No - of course it's not. Maybe the tour has helped fund the completion of the album, but there would be nothing more to it than that.

Look - it won't be out on March 6th, but it won't be too long after that before it's released. By the end of April at the latest, for sure. They wouldn't have agreed to the South African thing if they didn't know that they'd have the album finished by then.

Yeah, as if South Africans really give two shits about whether CD is out. Axl is smart to stay out of the U.S. until the album is done because the rest of the world doesn't really seem to care - hell, half of 'em don't even know the ORIGINAL BAND is still not together.

People outside the U.S. still come out in droves to the shows just on the name alone, which is DEFINITELY not the case in America anymore - Axl knows that. Don't expect to see him back here in the U.S. unless he's ready to release the album.

    So basically, never.

  13. holly shit read that!!

"All employees also had to submit a photograph of themselves, which Rose would then offer to guru Sharon Maynard for her ‘psychic inspection’ in order to reveal their true motives. Maynard even demanded pictures of potential employees’ children in order to read their spiritual auras more accurately."

That's completely psycho, completly psycho :o:rofl-lol:

Axl makes Howard Hughes seem normal.
