  1. The songs will be new songs as far as we go, but as far as Slash, Duff, and Axl go, they're probably going to be a mix of stuff they've worked on over the years, plus factor in Paul Tobias, Izzy Stradlin and Dave Kushner as co-writers, and maybe a West Arkeen song.

I doubt there's pressure for GNR to put anything out because the money's being made in touring. It's more likely we'll get a new live album and DVD.

  2. Supposedly/allegedly Izzy's on this one.

Kenny Aronoff's recent memoir (known for being Mellencamp's drummer also mentioned doing a session with Izzy but it's never been released, as well as playing pizza delivery boy back when..

It would be hard to pass up Elvis or Hendrix.

Maybe Johnny Cash or Jim Morrison.

I missed out on seeing Johnny Cash but told a buddy of mine about a show he was playing - he brought his guitar and got it signed. They talked for maybe 5 minutes.

Trent, Axl, and Chris were all dealing with the same record company people, plus Trent factors into ChiDem through Axl wanting to work with him and wound up taking a lot of his guys, as well as A Perfect Circle, and Trent & Maynard were supposed to work on a project.

Surprised Iovine didn't try to get Chris on ChiDem at the time. Would Chris have done it? I think he would have with a chuckle, but look at how many people who joined GNR laughed at the idea at first!!

I hope one day there's an insider story about Interscope because there's a lot of questions...

Having seen Soundgarden a couple times, or really anyone else here that has would make the observation that Cornell used to always sing it like that (I'm guessing he probably hated the idea of being the Black Hole Sun guy or something) but he'd still cane the rest of the set as well as he could for a guy of his vintage i.e. sometimes couldn't pull off the absolutely paint peeling notes off anymore (and that's fine given what he is/was capable of) but the rest of the songs sound like the Black Hole Sun syndrome writ large. I'll at least have the solace of knowing that the last time I saw them it was a killer show (if not awfully and ironically ruined by the fact that some of the guys I went with were utterly devastated by the fact that a relative had chosen the same route that Chris had and only found out about it minutes before the show and didn't tell me why they'd gone off until afterwards).

The last show I saw him do was about a decade ago and he went out with a band kicking ass for 2 and a half hours doing Soundgarden, Audioslave and his solo stuff - before that I'd seen Soundgarden at Lollapalooza and his voice was pretty ragged. I almost didn't go see him because I thought his voice was going to be shot but glad it turned out not to be the case.

Big shots quite an interesting song isn`t it ? I have to admit I`ve never heard it before and wonder if Axl chose it as a little dig at himself, the lyrics are interesting and according to billy joel he wrote it after going to dinner with mick and Bianca jagger  and it seems it`s kind of about Bianca  love stuff like this

hope Axl shows up at the u2 concert at the weekend definitely be looking out for that

He occasionally does Q&As at colleges, mostly for students wanting to make a living in music.

As Billy said, he was making digs at himself but he's also talking about his first wife in the song.... Axl seems the self-depreciating type about his fame and fortune.

  7. I could see Billy showing up to play November Rain. Pink had performed with Billy before, but this also opens up Pink singing with GNR... it wasn't that long ago GNR had aerial dancers, but she puts on a great show.

Billy's still writing music but he's composing suites. He said he may or may not release them, but he would have someone in the classical world play them, which he had done with "Fantasies and Delusions". Axl's mentioned wanting to compose along the same lines. A lot of people past and present in GNR have done some composing for soundtracks & commercials, and is a nice chunk of revenue.

Axl caught himself from almost screwing Big Shot up a few times, but we know how much he loves to rehearse... he still pulled it off.

Hoping for more Axl guest appearances in the near future.

gnr has been bullshit for 26 years and yet people love it and pay good money to watch the bullshit

axl low voice still sounds really good

this photo is perfect for a bootleg cover

if i has a bootleg company i would release a single of these two songs with this photo on the back cover and some random photo of axl and billy on the cover

Earlier, Billy was going "what's with the smoke, what am I, Yes?"
