  1. I agree with Guns Guy the thread shouldn't get derailed but IfTheyWorld is posting so much in it you would think he is in Moscow.

+1 to this, he is constantly on alert to flame a post, even when it's just a realistic view.

I'm desperate to hear a new song, everything seems a bit stale right now and I'm hoping that this next run of shows will be Guns kicking on from Chi Dem and kicking ass with some future classics, and I hope Axl's voice is spot on.

Being realistic though, there probably won't be new songs until later this year at the earliest.

  2. I saw them twice in 2010.. one time was a piss poor performance with no emotion to it. The other was the best show I have been to.

Simple fact is though, I am not going to spend £100+ to go see GNR play the same songs I saw them play 2 years ago, and first heard 4-20 years back.

It isn't worth the money when there is nothing I haven't seen before and I might get another Dublin o2. Money is better spent seeing a band I haven't watched before.

  3. If it is the new tour then it will be time to ignore Guns for another 6 months.

The show is great, but having seen them twice on the last European tour I can't justify spending another £50 or whatever to see songs that are between 25 and 4 years old.

  4. The vocals didn't sound that good when you were there, and generally the show made you feel pretty empty inside. There was no energy or enthusiasm, and although people say he finished the show, there was no interaction and things like Don't Cry, solo's etc were cut completely or only given 10% of their normal time.

Compare this show the one I went to a month later and this was utter bollocks.

  5. Pros -

Axl excluded, the band were really on form.

Ashba's solo spot - loved it.

    GnR headlining a major festival

    Cons -

    Axl's performance.

The last time we ever see GnR headline a festival. Seriously, that was it - never again.

    System of a Down playing.

Sepultura "highlights" on whilst waiting for GnR - what a noise, yuck!

  6. Machester 2010 - Bach looks over at the guys on the side of the stage, then says to the crowd "Hey I just realised that we missed out 2 fucking songs, so lets put them in now!"

Blatantly obvious that it really meant "Shit, Axl isn't ready yet so we are going to fill in for a bit longer to keep you entertained!"

Good stuff from Bach and his band because sitting waiting with fuck all going on just gets the audience riled up, but instead we got an extended set so we were all pleased!

  7. I love Chinese Democracy and OMG is the lowest ranked of all songs, I just don't like anything about it. The chorus is just a shouting mess.

  8. It´s amazing how the fans of Guns N´ Roses needs to doubt and ask for wich band Guns N´ Roses supposed guitarist is recording songs.

For me it doesn´t matter, Ashba is still a shitty caricature of Slash.

    Just ridiculous.

Finck, Bucket or Slash are welcome back any time now!

WE FUCKING GET IT, YOU DON'T LIKE HIM.

What an asshole you are friend, get a life.

An asshole serves a purpose. This guy, is an appendix. No real need for it, maybe back in 1991 he was useful, but these days we should just cut it out and throw it in the bin.

  9. LADY GAGA likes to provoke. And with her second album she's going out of her way to raise eyebrows.

Born This Way features songs about prostitution, bondage and being an outsider.

Pounding techno, stadium rock and flamenco house all feature on the 15-track collection, which is not for the faint-hearted.

Scheise is another pounding techno stomper which features a lengthy spoken word section in German.

She shows off her language skills to further extent in Americano where she sings in Spanish. The gentle love song has flamenco flourishes strapped onto another pounding rhythm.

The latter features a foul-mouthed manifesto in support of those on the margins. She sings: "We don't care what people say/We know the truth/Enough of this horses***/I am not a freak."

Elsewhere it's not quite so X-rated as the singer, who's shifted 22million albums, turns her focus to a more traditional MOR sound.

The recently-released single Hair mirrors 80s stadium rock impressively, while Highway Unicorn's mentions of heading out on the open road ape BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN.

Meanwhile, You And I is a similarly stadium-tooled, super-sized power ballad.

With such wildly different musical styles over 15 tracks, Born This Way isn't the most coherent listen.

But it's a brilliantly bold and outrageous offering from the pop world's mistress of mischief

Now, doesn't "wildly different musical styles... isn't the most coherent listen"

Doesn't that remind you of how people see Chinese Democracy?

What is the betting that the music critics all lap this trashy rubbish up and proclaim it the greatest music of this generation? Typical that when the flavour of the month puts out a CD that sounds more like a compilation it will be a hit, but when the media punching bag releases a mixture of song styles and techniques then it is a mess.

  10. songs that Izzy sang back with the old band rocked.

14 Years and Dust N' Bones are pretty much at the bottom of the barrel in the GNR catalog.

Wow, never heard someone hating on those songs especially 14 years. Any reason y?

Coz they are crap. Izzy is the only thing that is decent about those songs.

If i recall Dust N' Bones was only played once after Izzy left. What does that say?

    Oh, hang on Mr. Mod.

Based on your argument, Estranged must be the worst piece of music ever recorded, as Axl never plays that one since Slash left.

Hang your head in shame Mr. Mod.
