  1. I think some of you are blowing Axl's one sentence respose to a fan after a show out of proportion.

His off handed one sentence comment to a fan is now being represented that Axl is talking about the band's future plans and he is now open to talking about unreleased material.

This is why Axl and other celebs don't always open up to fans or the media. Because they take the smallest thing and blow it to the extreme proportion.

so we shouldn't get our hopes up? the moral of the story?

  2. If memory serves me correctly, they had something like 32-36 songs to choose from when compiling Chinese Democracy. Wouldn't that mean there are many more songs we haven't heard about?

Plus, why would Ron make shit up about the band not recording together?

BBF is saying current guns n roses hasn't recored or written anything. the guns n roses that doesn't exist anymore did write and record the 32-36 songs or so left to choose from with chidem sessions.

  3. if guns n roses hasn't written or recorded since the release of chidem like BBF says, who knows when new Guns N' Roses music releases come out

Maybe Axl's experiencing a writer's block once again...but who cares really? I mean there's a ton of unreleased material out there waiting to be released already and I'm pretty sure Axl's more recent hired hands (BBF & DJ) won't mind covering it live. So all good.

That's probably true. But I go back to BBF saying the tons of unreleased songs is from a guns n roses that doesn't exist anymore. you get the feeling BBF wants current guns n roses to have songs from current guns n roses on the next record. which means it's up to axl when they all sit down and start writing songs together for a new record!

  4. You never see the same show twice," says Ashba. "Really. Even we never know what is going to happen."

This just makes me sick. I mean... fuck you, DJ.

DJ's cool. Maybe DJ means the setlist isn't always the same each show. Maybe he's talking about song variations. Like the seeker. and putting Catcher back in the set.

  5. Axl : we might release it later this year...but it's a definite maybe.

Ashba : new album in the works, we are constantly writing ( been saying that since 2009, we have yet to hear a single note ).

BBF : I'm the only one who isn't bullshitting you : we haven't done anything.

Three guys, three very different versions.

Yeah, but do you honestly think Axl has NO songs that we haven't heard? Rofl. I bet he's got a shiteload of stuff written.

At least 3 albums worth. But he'll just keep sitting on them and rerecording them and overproducing them.

That is the sad thing, because time isn't on his side.

If a band doesn't have the material to release an album - then you understand why they would tour and tour and tour and not release new music.

BUT if a band has an over obundance of material, then waiting to release it just makes the entire situation uncomfortable for the entire band. Think about it.

It's been five years since the last release.

It's been said the plan was a trilogy. Somebody once said Axl had close to 80 songs in the can (in some form of completion). Nobody knows the official numbers but let's just say two albums worth.

THEN you add new band members who start writing..........

The more material you add to the library........and the longer you wait to release anything.................what happens?

Release CD2 in 2014 and tell BBF and Ashba "sorry guys, we'll release an album created by THIS band for our next release, probably 2020"...........

The longer you wait the more dated the songs become. The more current band members get tired of not having their creativity and contributions recognized until they eventually quit.

Stockpiling music makes no sense and isn't fair to the current band members.

If Beta and Axl want to keep touring, that's fine. Beta might not know this, but you can keep touring while you release new music.

    Sounds like a frustrating mess

  6. I was there last night. Few words quickly...

    - They weren't late!

    - Axl's voice was ok, but no rasp. But also no mickey mouse, just singing quite high. Also no more ac/dc covers... :)

    - I started to hate Axl's hats. Really started to think he is trying to hide something??

    - Setlist was ok, but nothing new. Catcher was nice and Axl got his mojo goin on Seeker.

    - Axl forgot lyrics on Estranged, Pitman falled on It's so esy, Knocking on didn't stop. Lasted like 15min.. This I love and rocket queen was good! Also paradise city.

    - Dizzy's solo was the best. But still too much solos for me!

    - Stage was ok. Perhaps too much lights and everything. Is this circus or rock show.. Why all the Axl's family have to be on stage too? A bit disturbing..

    - After all it was still entertaining! Really much talent in this band. They just have to start doing something new, because right now they're becoming quite boring band. I would make the show a bit more simple. Like in 2006. Now there is just too much going on. All the lights, videos and weird people hanging around... Keep it simple and rock on! :)

Btw, didn't find any touring-shirts, but outside of the concert area were a lot of. One had pic of Slash's band with text Guns N' Roses Live in Sepang 2013!! :D

    was hey man on stage?

    that setlist...

ockquote>why is the setlist on the left blurred? secret songs on that one? and the band could've played perfect crime, madagascar, if the world, oh my god, scraped, rhiad, twat, and prositute!
You can easily distinguish the song titles. Nothing new.

OK. Maybe something new on the next tour.

  8. Following on from this thread...

    http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?/topic/197620-gunns-exclusive-the-hat-incident-video-of-a-fan-meeting-axl-rose/

At the risk of getting everyones hopes up, I thought if Axl was open about it in person to a group of people then he's happy for it to be discussed in public.

After the show in Newcastle, a bunch of us were waiting to see if Axl would come out to grab a photo/meet him, and eventually he did.

While he was taking photos with everyone, I said 'love silkworms Axl'

and his response was, and I direct quote

"Actually we are thinking about releasing that later this year"

and he said it seriously, not in a sarcastic/joking tone...

At least 3 other people who are also members on here can confirm...

    edit*

For what it matters, i was next to GUNNS when this happened. 100% confim what GUNNS has stated.

I was there and I remember guns saying something about this that night

    lockquote>

and it backs up with what others have said about the possibility of "new" music getting released this year when talking to the management this past Australian tour.

    CDII starts 2013

Axl told HRS they were putting out Silkworms...that was seven years ago.

Just sayin'. Don't get yer' hopes up quite yet.

I had my hopes up for new music in 2013

  9. No, i'm just sayin'

Maybe you're right on that Username "i'm setting myself up for disappointment", but the hype was made by several people within the ban already and Sebastian!

Ask a casual GN'R fan if he/she has heard about The General...

There's no 'hype' about the song other than a few quotes that only we at the forums know about.

I haven't heard news on the general. the song might not even exist.

    The song exists!

Even Axl said that you hear parts of it on the intro of the shows.... God! What do you pretend with this kind of denial... you obviously know the song exists!

Brain confirmed it, Axl Confirmed it, Sebastian Bach confirmed it, Tommy confirmed it, Dizzy confirmed it.... what else do you need?

That's true... the casual fan will not care. I was meaning that the album could very well be a failure for us the Hardcore GNR fans.

I need its release. and then i can judge the song for myself.
