We’re all here guessing. I just think the most logical conclusion is these came from the trashed vinyls. Because why leak now, suddenly? Where were these two months ago?

Anyway, it could be that these songs are part 1 and part 2, but not meant to be continuous. I guess we’ll find out.

Really not in the mood, however, for the studio tracks to be different that what we now have heard, and for us to start another annoying round of “the leak was superior” debates.

Both songs were registered as one, not separately. Yes, it could be true the vinyl omits “Monsters” … or it could be that the track name will change on the final copies we receive. But I wouldn’t go so far as to call the songs that leaked “demos.” They sound complete, if muddied. And that’s Slash, at least to my ears.

It sounds like Slash … and I can’t see how it would be an earlier version that suddenly materializes. Best explanation is before they trashed the low quality vinyl pressings, someone ripped the songs.

I’m baffled by people here who won’t even give it a chance. The one dude who said he couldn’t even finish the song … how can you honestly even call yourself a fan? No one is forcing you to like it though.

Also … about people saying it’s muddied or a bad mix. Yes, guys! This isn’t a leak of the master recording or anything. We have no idea how it leaked and where they got it.

The CD sessions have some really good songs along with some turds but you're right. There's no massive song that was going to blow the world's mind.

 

Having said that, both these songs should've been on the album. Remove Scraped and Street of Dreams.

Slash’s solo in “Monsters” fits the vibe of the song. I’ve been listening on headphones but switched it up to my sound system so I could really crank it. “Monsters” is top tier. The entire song. I just love it so much. “The General” is good too, but first impression has me playing “Monsters” twice as much. 

How long before someone complains about Slash’s solo in “Monsters”?

I also have to admit I had a lot of fun the last couple days in the lead up to shipment announcements or prospects of “The General” on streaming platforms. Then the entire shift here once those first delay details went through has been quite the sight. We went into combat mode, there have been open invitations for fights, we hate this band … We’re at the point we’re turning on one another, about to start eating each other like piranhas.

I’m tired of people perpetuating the silly notion that it’s a mistake in “Absurd.” It wasn’t a “lazy” mistake they didn’t feel like fixing. All it takes is dragging the track with your mouse to sync it how you want.

Edit: Also, they sing a lot of stuff different live versus the studio album. But you know who helps recreate what you hear on the studio tracks? Melissa.

My order from Duff’s store was canceled because I didn’t opt to keep it. I didn’t even realize I had to opt in. I saw the delay email and thought nothing of it. Then I saw my account was credited back. They ended up sending me the stuff for free and apologized about the inconvenience.
