  1. There was a great interview with some of the Blind Melon guys a couple months ago where they told some AMAZING Axl and Shannon stories. Fist fights between the two!

The slash and axl parts in the new movie are old clips filmed by Shannon right? I would kill to hear Axl comment on Shannon's passing. I never saw a word from him about it and always wondered if they were still close at the time. I know Duff played at a Shannon benefit concert after he passed.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I’m so happy to hear that people like my work.

Honestly, so far there’s not any posters on this tour that have blown my hair back. Maybe the second night in Vegas.

How about from the previous NITL legs? Would love to hear your thoughts on some of the highlights from  '16-'18.

Kudos again on your  "rejected" Vegas design. I keep going back and looking at it. Absolutely killer.

  3. @facefirst had the sickest design for Vegas. Love the new Axl look, loved the color scheme, swirling background colors were amazing. Would kill to have that poster in my collection. And I haven't seen a design that made me really excited for quite a few legs of this tour. Can't believe it didn't get chosen.

@facefirst have you kept up with the other lithos from the tour? Do you have any favs besides your own lol.

  4. You know I'm rereading Chinese Whispers and seeing all these quotes from players on the album commenting that the songs were over produced and painted over so many times that the original beauty was obscured. Got me thinking if 11 years removed does Axl look back on those tracks thinking the same thing? We've never had a direct comment from him speaking negatively  about the tracks themselves right? Just comments on the actual process.

What are you talking about? Ulli has only done one lithograph so far this leg (Louder than Life) and it's by far the least generic and most interesting of the eight

I don't think a single one of his lithos from the entire tour could be considered generic. He referenced the Moscow Olympics in his Tallinn design, for crying out loud - that's about as far from generic as you can get! He has referenced pop culture, graffiti, opera, the Freemasons, black and white films, iconic european battles and a giant coffee pot. You might like or dislike a design, but there's absolutely no way he is generic.

Please please please help me to appreciate the giant coffee pot lol. I was at that show and went with a buddy who I had been showing my other lithos to and hyping him up. Couldn't wait to see the design that night. I had thought maybe cigarette inspired [in Winston Salem, N.C] and then the unveiling...a coffee pot?!

What do you like about this one? I guess the colors are cool but I'm at a loss after that.

  6. For any musicians and lyricists on the board, are songs like Coma and Locomotive any easier to put lyrics to in comparison to songs like Devious Bastards and Circus Maximus? I dont have any type of talent for that sort of thing so I have no clue what's involved. But would you say the Buckethead instrumentals are harder to write too because they're more unconventional?

  7. I tried looking on billboard charts but you have to be a member to get really In depth. But it would be fun to get an estimated release date based on the dates we have listed on these leaked cds and compare it to the other rock releases that came out that same month.

In an alternate universe Ezrin signs off on the material it gets mixed, mastered, and released, and the competition it's up against is 3 Doors Down and Tantric.

  8. I'm starting to wonder if the line "you pulled the gun that shot and crucified my savior" might not be so literal as to mean Mark David Chapman shooting Lennon. And maybe the savior in this case was the band in the sense that their success gave him a feeling of security and family, saving him from a lonely existence. And "pulled the gun" is referring to breaking up the band, leaving Axl "all alone, like I was before".

I mean I know CITR is about Lennon, but have we really ever heard Axl talk about Lennon in these terms before? I mean we've heard him talk about Phil Lynott and Elton way more then Lennon.

  9. I don't like Silkworms much at all. I enjoyed it enough when it had the chorus from Rio and HOB, but without it I don't find much to love. I say this so you don't think I love everything Axl puts out. But I really do like Eye On You. I like it a bunch in the current form that we have, I'd be fine if nothing was added. And I just tried listening to it over the Interstellar clips and I thought it worked great. I'd love to see some other Guns songs matched up with movie clips like this, it's never really dawned on me to do this. But I'm glad it was brought up. This was really fun. And I think the song is close enough to the GNR wheelhouse to make a record.

  10. I'll tell you what's great about these songs. Me and 2 of my best friends are hardcore GNR fans. And all 3 of us have a different favorite from the stuff that leaked. I like Perhaps the best, one of them likes SOG,  and the other thinks Hard School was the best of the bunch. I think that speaks to the quality of the tracks and the variety of the sound.

Axl had some absolute gems he was working on. God Damn I just wish I had his finished version of what he wanted the double album to have looked like.
