Still gets us a show over 3 hours. Works for me.

GNR might be on at 7:30 at this point, so it should be a fairly long show.

I’d guess an hour at most. They started promptly at 6.

I don’t think there’s a curfew, but I could be wrong. 11 PM or midnight, most likely. The Pretenders are already on, so GNR might be on fairly early tonight. I said that I was a bit soured by it, but I wasn’t going to give up my tickets over it.

We found the Linkfire page that had the magic 8 ball animation on it.

It’s mind-blowing that people are refusing to accept this. But I guess when you have “rose” colored glasses on… Axl isn’t going to reward anyone for their loyalty. It’s okay to be angry and disappointed.

I’m still convinced that Axl and/or Team Brazil are pissed that we found the Linkfire page before we were supposed to and called the whole thing off.

The Linkfire website had an animated magic 8 ball that said August 11th. This was an official band page that said it, not some random journalist.

The label wouldn’t do something like that without the band and/or Team Brazil being notified. The industry just doesn’t work that way.

No one involved in this is clever enough to plan for anything like that.

That website wouldn’t have gone live without some kind of agreement in place between the label, the band, and management. The band may not have acknowledged it, but it’s clear that a plan was in place, and that the song was supposed to come out on the 11th. That site wasn’t activated by accident.

Three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and new Guns N’ Roses music having to literally be pried away from Axl’s grip.

None of the people that I know in the industry are that dumb. They understand that “loose lips sink ships” and nothing gets revealed to me until everything is gone over with a fine tooth comb and 100% fully authorized. So yeah, this band is clearly surrounded by incompetence at very high levels. The cope that some people are having with this is honestly astounding. You don’t produce that on the off-chance that Axl wakes up one morning and says “let’s do this.” A plan had to have been in place for at least a few weeks to get that video/animation ready to be rolled out.

As someone that has worked in marketing and promotion on the radio side over the years: everything is internal until you want it to be released. It’s marketing 101. Someone authorized that link fire page to go live. That was NOT an accident.

No. It’s not. You can send a mock-up of the page to the band and management. You can post it on a private page on Universal’s servers - you don’t need to activate it on a live page if you don’t want to. SOME sort of release plan was put in place. Something happened that canceled that. If you want to fall on the sword for the band, that’s your right to do so. The rest of us gave up that fight a long time ago and for good reason.

Some folks need to use some critical thinking here: That Linkfire page wouldn’t be activated, nor would anything be posted to it, much less a fully produced video, unless the band, label, and management were ALL on the same page regarding a promotional strategy. You remove one of those three from the equation, and the page stays dormant with nothing being posted to it: test code or otherwise. SOME kind of promotional campaign was in place, but either “someone” got cold feet at the last minute, or they got pissed off that we found the page early and pulled the release to try to spite us. Anyone trying to deny that is just lying to themselves.

NOTHING gets posted to that page without approval from two or three parties. Period. Stop making excuses for this band.

Oh please. That video doesn’t get posted without approval from any combination of the band, label, and management. We’re being punished because we found it “before we were supposed to.” End of story.

And anyone defending Team Brazil in this situation is laughable. They’ve treated the fan base with nothing but disdain for years. They get no sympathy from me.
