OH SHIT - the account mentioned in the OP uploaded the full crowd-shot version of Rock am Ring!

Three out of four times I was lucky to have Axl in his best vocal shape of the decade (Belgium Graspop '06, Sportpaleis' 10 & Axl/DC Werchter '16). GMM' 12 wasn't my thing,  but the 2006 gig has a special place in my heart.  After worshiping Guns since I was 11 (I got UYI I & II from my grandparents who weren't proficient in English :)),  I finally got to see them and 90% of the show was spot on.  Last year Axl ran around excessively.  He's still might charismatic,  but that year he brought his most badass self to annihilate the stage.  Shame almost everybody ,  including the press,  decided not to like the show before it happened.  I hope he brings his A-game 'one more f*ckin'  time tonight ' at Werchter' 17.

  2. I guess a lot of you were waiting for this full YOU'RE CRAZY:

Awful, awful weak vocals.Prime example of how his voice has deteriorated beyond repair.Just hang it up ,it doesn't even sound like the Axl I remember. No rasp,no power,no control. Why even sing at all.So embarassing for the band, just retire and or have a reunion tour before its too late. You can tell Ron is thinking yeah maybe new music not such great idea.

Honestely, as a rather harsh vocal-critic who was terribly shook up by the 2006/'10 - 2012 discrepancy I witnessed live, I thought this video was quite alright. Throwing in a few new songs or other classics wouldn't hurt though, as I am not going to watch a barely different show for the 3rd time (Okay, I'm a fan, I probably will,... twice :tongue2: )

  3. A band I was in about 5 years ago... we played gigs over the summer for fun just playing various covers...I'm playing lead and singing... crowd seemed really into the GNR stuff. Always goes over well.

Few local bands attempting to cover Jungle do a good job. You guys def. did. Really digging the not-too-Axl'esque vocals. rock3

As far as that SOD version 's considered: if it's a shot at absurdist humor, well done. Andy Kaufman-style class for sure! If not....

  4. I only understand English, Catalan, Japanese, French and Spanish. I don't seem to understand your language.

je pense qu'il demande si le show se vend bien et si il y aura de nouvelle chansons :xmasssanta:

    Ah, d'accord. :tongue2:

  5. The tons of rain, I think I missed that,... I remember wearing a t-shirt for the entire day, without getting overly wet... Had been waiting for 1,5 hrs in the second front row, with young metal chicks collapsing, guys booing and hippies taking a piss next to people's feet, but once the show started it was great. Axl's voice was at one of it's most raspy points in that tour. Only thing absolutely unbearable was the Robin solo. It was exceptionally bad that day, and that sure as hell means something. Incredible showman, but horrible lead guitarist in a live setting. The Antwerp show had a much greater 'fluency' though. Plus his voice was even stronger. Vocally, Belgium seems to be more hit than miss for Axl. (Werchter '93 was awesome also). Anyway, I'm happy they are coming back, but I'm afraid no show can top Antwerp Sportpaleis '10 form a personal POV.

Awesome lineup. A very 'Metal' festival for GnR to headline. Hopefully they will be well received and there's not too many wankers that have the attitude that Guns are not heavy enough - what do you all think?

They were very badly received in 2006, and deservedly so. It was a shitty show and and they let people wait for two hours in the rain.

I was there, and there was no rain, and the organisation let Soulfly play a longer set, so the crown doesn't have to wait too long. Graspop keeps booking more rock act lately, like Buckcherry, Whitesnake etc... But they didn't play very well in 2006, that's why I think it was not so good received.

It was raining like hell in 2006. The crew had a lot of work cleaning the stage before Guns started their show. Soulfly was booked at last as headliner in 2010, the year Guns was supposed to play at Graspop.

My bad, it was indeed raining later that night, Soulfly played before GNR in 2006, Korn should play between them, but cancelled. So Soulfly played almost 90-100 minutes.

  6. YESS!!!! Wat een super nieuws! I also visited the shows in 2006 and 2010 which were amazing! the coming show is following quickly without new music being released? i hope there will be much people visiting it!!

Geweldig! I hope they are visiting Belgium as well, so I can attend two shows... at least! rock1
