The only explanations is that either the quote is not AI, or..that he has never actually visited his website to check it out and just added the link to his bio:lol:

Seems like Axl doesn't care at all about anything anymore. I mean, The General plus that video...the merch...this website with that bizarre quote...:/

I know it's hard to divorce ourselves from being rock fans, but yes, despite breaking into the mainstream from time to time, he is not a household name. Could you name everyone else who was on the Oscars this year? Or last year? To most non-rock fans, he was just some guitarist, one of the long list of people involved in the show at some point. Wolfgang Van Halen was on the Oscars, too. I'd imagine most young people had no clue who he was despite him being on a mainstream platform.

Put it this way, I'm working with a singer who is a metalhead and she didn't know who Slash was. There were better odds already being into a related genre, and yet, nope.

You can't be a "metalhead" and not know about Slash, this is just ridiculous. XD

Is it weird that I think this is some of the most exciting news in a while?

It is weird because so far this website means nothing. It contains no information at all to get excited about, not even a hint when/ if such information will ever come.

Plus, we're talking about Axl Rose here. :D

Kind of hard to keep track of what Slash is doing, even for me being on the forum ahah. I saw a video of Slash touring with Myles recently and I looked at recent setlists, thought he was touring with him. Too many side projects.

Sorry if those are covers, didn't know.

Still, that doesn't change the fact that I have a hard time understanding the point. I just feel it's wasted energy and talent.

Kind of like some bands releasing a new album every year or every two years, more often than not it's pointless.

I'd prefer Axl, Slash & Duff working on a real album, for 3, 4, 5 years if they need to and committing to it. Not doing ANYTHING except focusing on their own band.

If everyone goes on tour, doing their side projects and albums/covers/whatever, how can they ever work together properly? It's just something I don't understand.

So again, a lot of people blame Axl, but from what I'm seeing, the problem seems to be that everyone is doing whatever they want beyond Gn'R Tours.

Even Axl would laugh at this post!

Wouldn’t plans change that fast in GNR-land, then I’d think they were releasing Monsters this year, probably this summer, but GNR is unpredictable.

Doesn't matter when they'll release it. It will make zero impact anyway when it comes out with zero promotion and as a single song with nothing to follow.

Plus, Monsters isn't exactly a banger that will turn heads - it's just a bit better than the other/ most of the other Chinese leftovers.

It doesn't matter anymore anyway... Axl's window is gone.. His voice is gone.. They may have been able to do something decent 8 years ago but that ship has sailed.. Not to mention the drummer situation.. Guns n' Roses will never release a good song again..

The cold, hard truth is not something I'm interested in right now, Covid made a glorious comeback in my house. XD

The production value on both songs we have heard so far is orders of magnitude better than anything I have heard from Slash since WOF or from GNR since the early 90's.

I wish someone could get Axl locked in a room and force him to listen to how well produced this new Slash stuff is and ask him how on earth he isn't ashamed to put the GNR name on the last batch of songs they have been releasing.

Kudos to Slash on this project though as it feels fresh and dynamic despite being an album of cover songs. He clearly didn't mail it in and just slap his name on it as something to release to keep his name out there.

I think my favorite thing about him is that regardless of what genre he is playing he manages to kind of fit in yet still sounds like himself and how you expect Slash to sound. When he played with Michael Jackson even I marveled at that how it was still clearly Slash but not Slash at all if that makes sense.

I think he could make a killer southern rock style album with a guy like Chris Stapleton based on how good this song sounds.

Post of the year and I love every sentence!

Edit: I'm sure Axl will listen to it but we'll never know what's going on in his head and heart. There's at least a tiny chance that this will wake him up a little.

A little miffed they didn’t recreate the less polished cherry sunburst look of the guitar. The original only faded to a honey burst look over time

Yeah, they should have either reliced it then as well or went for the more cherry burst look instead.

The thing they ended up with looks nothing like the real Jessica, it's just another  overpriced Les Paul with a fat neck.

Slightly underwhelmed after the first listens. I believe it has nothing to do with the recording, I just prefer Teddys voice on it because I'm used to the Slash's Blues Ball version, his voice just sounds infinitely more badass, it's closer to Rod Jacksons, while Chris delivery comes across more gentle (sort of like Myles vs Axl on GNR songs).

It's a very laid back approach, sounds pretty cool.

Overall, I'm SO glad Slash did this project NOW, I totally love it so far.

I was getting a bit desperate between these GnR singles (especially The General) and the super boring and never ending SMKC releases.

Can't wait for the full album!

Love So Fine. Listen to it a lot. I never watched and never will The General music video. Probably will never listen to it again either (saying that after all these years is such a crazy thing)

The thing is sitting in my amazon music library and I just can't delete it because I'm a fan since 1987. I really don't wanna hear it ever again but I can't find the heart to get rid of it. XD
