  1. Despite the above statements, the first version of It's So Easy to go out (ie to DJ's in the UK) didn't have any swearing (although the single that went to stores was the album version). Most of the ending of the song was edited to make it that way, but in the middle Axl does sing "Why don't you just.......BACK OFF".

you have some proof for this? the DJ's UK version doesnt have the altered lyrics i think.

  2. But there was Steph!!

there is a very high possibility that Axl went even more nuts when she broke up with him. IMO CD is full of Steph songs and in an old interview Axl said smth. like he hopes that Dylan (Steph's son) sometime will hear closer stuff/feelings regarding to him/Steph on CD.

Marc, would you say there is some truth in this?

  3. i'm meaning what i've said: on tv/dvd stand alone player you wont have to suffer from those lines that much - as i've verifed that a couple of times already.
on computer (and maybe other devices) you will.
those lines aint sourced from a bad capture but from a sharpness filer i've used afterwards. yes, the filter does alter the original video a little, and yes....on other devices/computer some horizontal lines might pop up here and there. but on the other hand the more sharpen image gives so nice more little details from our 5 AFD boys that i've decided to use this filter. no other version has this sharpness IMO.

  4. "Stealmylife" said its best:

"This show should have been released with Appetite on a deluxe edition of the album, that will never happen and this is the closest we will (more than likely) ever get to an official quality version of the show!!"

to all fans just wanting it on youtube or whatever......feel free to do so or to wait til someone uploads it there. but this vhs source looks absolute best on tv/stand alone player, because....thats what vhs was made for! as a result i will outmax the quality totally(!) for this format: dvd in 720x480 standard resolution with video bitrates around 8000 and with uncompressed and (mostly) uncensored audio not from bootlegs but from official Westwood One radio broadcast CDs ripped with EAC and synched properly. some nice motion menus and bonus included.

in the end its your decision to grab it for free(!) or not. why should i care? i'm just very happy to be able to work on this historical GN'R show and to give fans something the band should have given us officially years ago: a quality product from Ritz'88!

i'll come back on this when project will be finished. as for now it seems the gnr tracker is down, so it might be uploaded in the end of June on "The Trader's Den"-tracker (and BEFORE the Mickey Vegas'12 release ;) ).

  5. People, calm down. its the edited show ~59min from an MTV promo VHS. the bonus will be "mama kin" (from the circulating version but with more synched audio this time) and maybe a little more (depending on whats left on disc space).
BUT.....the image quality is killer, sharp as hell. and the audio is from the more uncensored radio broadcasts (Westwood One). this is a beast!!!

  6. Marc, i think your very 1st goal was to finish the book and get it out to the fans. and you've achieved that!!!
thanks a lot for all the work regarding the book. the missing Axl promotion only would have been the little ice on the top but not the basics. to have the rise of such a huge band (1985-1993) documentated sooooo detailed with pics, audio and video(!!) is such a great gift for us!!

  7. I'm sure Axl left it up to Dizzy whether he wanted to go or not, he said he wasn't stopping anyone from attending, and I really doubt he would have fired him, but it's just knowing that not everyone was going to be there and it would have bummed his "boss" out. I doubt Izzy cared about it either way, he just didn't want to spend money is probably why.

Dude, just read what Dizzy said in this interview. he said that Axl, Izzy and himself made the no-going-decision together.

"I know that all the original band is going to be there," keyboardist Dizzy Reed, the longest-standing member of the current GNR and an inductee that night, tells Billboard.com. "I don't know exactly what's going to go down. It's one of those things I'm sure will all come together and be really cool. I'm just going to go in with a good attitude and a clear head and a grateful heart."

here ya go, this is from February 12, 2012........what a man of his words, bah!!
