  1. To me it’s in the middle. I wouldn’t say Izzy’s not an important GNR member nor that he’s the most important one. I think he’s as important as Axl and Slash. Pulling one of‘em out of the formula and you got… less.
Having said that, his solo music is not as inspiring to me as the music the other two are responsible for. I don’t like everything on CD but its heights are definitely untouchable by Izzy’s material and so are Slash’s. Izzy has some cool songs but all in all they sound like rough demos to me. Like, probably what they are, unfinished GNR songs that lack Axl and Slash.

I think Axl, as a courtesy, may ask for some input, but I believe he's the ultimate shot caller. If Axl really wants Robin to stay on Zodiac when it's released, Robin will stay on Zodiac. If he likes Bucket's solo on Seven and wants it to stay, it will stay, etc. If they ever drop an album, of the 12+ songs, it would probably even be easier or smoother to include a few tracks with parts from older members intact, much like there was on the 2008 album, and we already have this to some extent with the NITL releases.

So you admit that Axl prefers Slash’s take on the released singles over Fincks, Bucketheads and Bumblefoots?

Wouldn't it be great if after they officially release Monsters, that they later release a CD-era mix titled Soul Monster? Same with Hard Skool, vs Hardschool. Name the older mixes with Robin and Buckethead something that can differentiate them from the NITL versions. Even if it is on some bonus or digital download, it certainly would be welcomed by the hardcore fans, even if rough mixes. Minimal effort required.

In opposition to those who think Axl is the only one who makes the decisions I believe as long as Duff and Slash are in GNR there won’t be song releases without their input.

No you're wrong dude, @IzzysMissy actually works in the industry and knows more than us about touring and booking. Idk which numbers are correct but she's definitely isn't "not well informed."

Yeah that's the big difference with SMKC.

I don’t doubt she does and her information may be valid in the market she’s responsible for. But the numbers of past and current tours here in Europe are telling a different story. :shrugs:

Slash without GNR pulls in between 1000-3000 a night as an average depending on the size of the market. He also gets a smaller guarantee than most people think and takes the door deal. His VIP programs do well for ancillary income. Anyone who thinks slash can pull an arena crowd solo is completely delusional. The small arenas/amps he plays aren’t expensive shows and have a super low break even point for the promoter/venue so if the deal makes sense, he’ll be booked there.

Duff gets booked at 500-1000 type clubs.

You’re probably not well informed but Slash with SMKC have outsell arenas with a capacity of 14-15 thousand here in Europe. I don’t know how well his current tour is attended but he has pulled arena crowds regularly outside of the US

Sorry, link seemingly doesn’t lead directly to the snippet. But it’s out there, somewhere on Insta and Twitter. And it’s the one I’m the most excited for, based on the material we got to so far. Sounds brilliant, even if it’s just 10 sec. snippet.
