  1. with him it's a love/hate thing. he'll be remembered like Howard Hughes. Loved for his inventions and charisma at youth, hated for aging into a disgusting mentally unstable recluse.

or like George Lucas. Loved for the original Star Wars, hated for the prequels.

  2. In 2006, Axl was in better shape, had Brain and Robin, the band played more shows and the new album was still on the horizon meaning there was still hope that it would achieve success.

In 2010, the band performed in more exotic places that they hadn't been to in ages (the Latin America tour and Middle East shows were the first since 1993) and while the album wasn't very successful, at least the band finally had a record out to support the credibility they had at the time, and while Axl's voice in 2006 was great for the most part, I feel like it was better in 2010.

It's a tough call, but I'm gonna have to give it to 2010.

  3. Well, never say never. Izzy, Duff, Brain and Robin all played with Guns N' Roses on 2010.

Which show did Robin play in 2010? Any videos or images? Would love to see some!

Manets is a little wrong there. These are the shows that each former member played (they were not all in 2010):

    Duff: London O2 2010, Seattle 2011 and LA 2011

Izzy: London O2 2012 (both nights), London surprise club gig 2012, Vegas 2012 (last two nights)

    Robin: House Of Blues 2012

    Brain: House Of Blues 2012

  4. from what I've listened to:

    1986 - Roxy

    1987 - CBGB

    1988 - Toledo

1989 - LA Coliseum (last night)

    1990 - Farm Aid Festival

1991 - Rock In Rio II

    1992 - Tokyo

    1993 - Argentina

2001 - Rock In Rio III

    2002 - MSG

    2006 - Rock AM Ring

    2007 - Osaka

    2009 - Taipei

2010 - (One of the Canada gigs, can't remember which exactly)

    2011 - LA Forum

haven't bothered with any of the 2012 or 2013 gigs

  5. It was the release of ChiDem for sure. Back when that album was coming out I was only a kid and my young peers all knew it was about to come out and a good chunk of them gave it a listen on MySpace since it had taken so long to make and had all this hype surrounding it. But none of them liked what they had heard and I'm pretty sure none of them give a shit about Gnr now. Make no mistake, all hope for Gnr regaining current popularity died with the failure of ChiDem.

  6. The media has its agenda.

the media has its agenda against axl rose. why axl doesn't show up to public media events like the GNR HOF or the 2013 HOF

No agenda bullshit there. Axl was shat upon by the public and the HOF and his band was spitted out of the HOF induction. So it was an ego thing. Going there would be admitting his own failure. And Axl is known for never admitting to anything he has done wrong or not well enough.

His ridiculousness peaked by saying that he couldn't write music because of Slash and Stephanie. He is a person that has never blamed himself for anything. It's just so ridiculous.

if there is no media agenda with axl, why didn't the media embrace chinese democracy and help it be a success on the charts with word of mouth and print promotion in newspapers, trade magazines, and the internet?

I remember seeing ALOT of articles in newspapers, trade magazines and the internet. The media promoted the record as much as they could. People knew Chinese Democracy was coming out, it just depended on whether or not people cared enough about it in the end.

  7. Metallica also put on kick ass performances and James' voice never sounds like shit. They have done interesting experiments with their set lists as well. Sometimes they play the Black record from beginning to end and sometimes they play Ride the Lightning from beginning to end. Sometimes they play both records backwards! GN'R have been working off of the same set list since 2001 with only a few changes here and there (which I'll admit are sometimes nice changes like the addition of "Estranged" and such).

  8. For example to me Tommy is the legendary bassist of GNR.

    Doesn't know what "legendary" means.

I don't know that I'd even call Duff a "legendary bassist." But hey, I have standards based on real world shit.

Not necessarily a music legend but a GNR legend.

Tommy is a fucking asshole who pressured Bucket out of the band and is drunk 24/7

  9. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I see it as three bands and label them as such:

    Classic Band

    ChiDem Band

    Current Band

As far as when the name rights were given to Axl, I have no clue.
