I've opted that a lot of times actually. Just put all the shit out there as a Chinese Democracy Years box set. I bet it'd span 6 discs easily. Different mixes from different era's and maybe with different musicians. Not to mention at least 2 discs of unheard material from that era and different mixes/versions of those. Put the Brian May stuff on it! Put the "nearly finished" 2000 versions on it. Put everything on it. Close the book on that whole turbulent era and start fresh with the band we have no.
End one thing in the only way that it should end, and start a new fresh thing. I'd love that. It's win-win. The fans get what they all wanted, the band gets to create their own fresh material and Axl get's to get his music heard.
For me, this would be a dream-scenario.
I think this is a great idea but imagine the headache of sorting out who is owed what royalties!

I don't know that it's stealing. Art inspires art, it could be argued that nothing is truly original. I watched a great TV show the other night but it clearly borrowed heavily from 1984 and The Running Man. Didn't stop it being great though.

Stephanie Seymour.
Axl's been over that chick, long time ago
The fuck lol
Ha Ha Ha. I've seen some of these before but not this one.

I suspect DJ is just as frustrated as Ron, he just has a different approach to try and motivate Axl. They are like good cop bad cop. DJ is clearly such a fanboy, I think he is just trying to will it to happen.

DJ has said this many times and I'm taking it with a grain of salt.
That's gotta be a straight-up lie.
:rofl-lol:
I like your sig cheesecake.
But I didn't invent it...saw it somewhere on the Net and I really liked what it delivers and I think it suits this forum.
I agree

This reminds me of the film Being John Malcovich. Good film.

GUNS N Roses guitarist DJ Ashba has paid tribute to Melbourne beauty Nicky Whelan for healing his heart.
Ashba said: "We met for a reason and we gave it a good run.
"She is a really cool girl and she helped me grow."
Ashba and Whelan, now a Hollywood-based actor, split in 2011 after dating for a year.
Back then, Ashba said Whelan had taught him to trust in love.
He added yesterday: She is a great actress and we're still buddies. I will wish her nothing but the best."
Guns N Roses play in Perth on March 9, Sydney on March 12, Melbourne on March 16 and 17, and Brisbane on March 20.
Ashba said the band has written "a ton" of new songs for an album.
"It's a matter of deciding which songs to pick for the new record," he said.
"I'm excited about the future. I didn't join Guns N Roses to only play guitar. I write songs everyday."
Didn't BBF do an interview about a week ago that contradicts the 'written a ton of songs' statement. I can't work out what the hell is happening as regards new music. It's like they're all in a different band from each other.

Wow quite a difference in those 2 videos. No idea why though? Assuming it's not illness then maybe it's harder to sing like in the Philly clip and he doesn't always feel like it. We all have days at work where we put 100% in and days where we can't be arsed. Who knows?
-
Why did he do that? I don't see the point other than to redirect royalties but I'm sure most people would still buy the original, even new fans.

It was weird to me having DJ on That Metal Show at the time. He seems like sort of the replacement face. The one that needs to get people (14 year old emo girls) interested).
Is there a link for that show anywhere? I've never been able to find one.
Thanks, I can't view it on my current device as it isn't supported. I will check it out when I have PC access.

Frank with Meg White. Could make things interesting.

I'm not sure there will ever be an understandable version of events from Axl's side. I reread the Dexter chat earlier and it's really hard to work out what he is alluding to in some places. I can't imagine how an autobiography would read because there is no way he would get a ghostwriter or let an editor touch it.

Ok, here`s the right diagnosis. The guy likes to drink and eat burgers. He has Acid reflux. It fucks up the throat and makes it hard to breath! Thats it. Axl`s stomach ->
I think he looks okay most of the time but should he wish to take some diet tips from a fellow 51 year old singer...

Certain drugs, legal and otherwise can interfere with ear, nose and throat regions. My son is on such a medication and whilst the benefits are worth it he can suffer with nasal and throat issues as a side effect. He's not a singer obviously but I can imagine how it might affect someone who is.
Pure speculation of course.

What is it with the candles? Wasn't there a GNR scented candle at some point? I don't really get the association with RNR, it's all a bit spa weekend lol.

I think the cryptic stuff and not announcing plans very far in advance is probably because Axl appears to only do things he feels like doing and those feelings can probably change at a moments notice. This would make management and band very nervous about announcing stuff that might not happen. I bet tons of stuff have been scheduled and then canned that we don't even know about.

I would guess the choice of logo is probably down to the promoter and the guys probably aren't aware of it as such. However if I was Slash I might be a bit narked off especially considering the recent Activision case. It is possible though that some agreement was reached previously over the use of the old logo.

It's possible he has permanent damage from smoking (COPD or Emphysema) - in which case he should just stop performing.
Or stop smoking.

I'm sure there are bands out there that he would enjoy.

Hi Marc
I've always wondered whether Axl (or even other Gnr members) had considered signing and managing up and coming artists at any point? It's something a lot of other successful artists have done, Jay-z, Madonna, Justin Timberlake etc...I could imagine this having been a good career move and positive focus for someone like Axl particularly as he has always seemed interested in the business side of things.
Thanks

It's sad that lack of proper communication and compromise broke down such a great band. Clearly fault lies on all sides and it's a shame that Axl gets most of the blame. I watched a clip recently of Steven on the rehab programme and it shocked me a bit, I couldn't have dealt with that kind of stuff for very long, I can see why Axl may have chose to retreat and communicate through third parties. Unfortunately it seems to have become an ingrained habit. I think had he come out with his version and defended his case a bit more the public would be more sympathetic than he probably thinks. Because he never did this Slash and Duff have had an easier ride of it in the public perception, Axl might be a bit planet hatstand sometimes but I'm sure they are no angels either.

I believe slash was at one of the 2001 shows and axl had him thrown out before the show.
My first thought is that slash would say hi or something, and axl would just ignore him, but that seems overly rude considering they used to be great friends. I think maybe they would talk for a minute or two, but I doubt it would go any further.
Were they ever great friends though. Other than the period pre AFD when they shared lodgings out of necessity I have never got the impression they were particularly close. Admittedly this impression is gained partly from Slash's autobiography which may be skewed but it didn't seem like they hung out together and had very different sets of friends. I wonder sometimes if we are mistaken about how well they got on from the start, no doubt they had some professional chemistry but their personalities seem quite at odds with each other.
That's exactly my thoughts. I get the impression that slash was important to axl as a friend not the other way around. Someone asked marc about this and he said that axl is very emotional and slash valued him more as a coworker. Basically same thing i think. Slash seems a bit cold in his biography in general.
I sort of get that impression about Slash but I wonder if it is just symptomatic of years of addiction. It's well documented that addicts become very selfish and inward looking. Also reading his autobiography I get the feeling he only half remembers a lot of stuff and I imagine it is difficult to attach real emotions to stuff that is a bit of a blur. If Axl was less intoxicated during this period it would be easy to see how he might feel more strongly about things.
Michael Monroe opening for Slash today...
