Actually, there's copies on eBay right now if anyone's interested - http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=2002+mtv+vma&_sacat=0

This isn't from the master tape, it's from an emmy-screener DVD of the show
I have a copy that I got from eBay years ago - it's probably rare now
Jimmy Fallon was nominated for an emmy for his performance as host

It's cool that Slash and Duff are listening to the Chinese Democracy songs and going "yeah that sounds like ass - let's fix it"
I remember they did the same thing with the Stone Temple Pilots songs they performed in Velvet Revolver

Slash's outro on Chinese was awesome.
Axl's voice sounds awesome.
This band is awesome.
Everything is awesome.
Where the hell is McBob?

I think even Axl would agree that Freddie was better than him

Axl also called Paul Huge "the original guitarist" at Rock in Rio III - I think Axl's just insecure about Izzy not being there

Someone should at least cap the audio even if the video can't be capped

Everyone knows that they can move the camera around themselves right? I keep hearing about the camera being stationary...I think that's only if you access through your phones internet browser, but if you go to the YouTube app you are free to move the camera around.
Yeah I have the YouTube app on iPhone and I can move my phone around to change angles - it's dope

The band probably wants people to buy tickets instead of giving away the whole show for free. Nothing wrong with that.
I hope after the tour's over there's a Blu Ray.

Don't you all feel cheated though for paying to see shows between 2011 and 2014 when Axl was purposefully half-assing it, though?

Holy lord his backing vocals were bad

Just curious

He's putting 75% effort into the vocals on this tour, which is better than the 25% he's been putting in for the last 5 years.
He still refuses to give up Mickey on songs like Sweet Child O' Mine, but he goes full rasp for most of Coma. Bizarre.
And this is all with him sitting down - I'm expecting the vocals to get worse once he starts running around again.
Overall I'm impressed.

I remember when the Vegas DVD teaser came out and Axl sounded good, but that was because the only 30 seconds of Axl singing good the entire night were in the promo
I feel like this is another one of those promos
Axl needs to stop half-assing it

Well I wasn't about for any of that. I just remember not being on the forums for a bit, then coming back and posters were saying Uncle Axl. I thought they were crazy Axl fans taking it to a new level.

Axl's voice is traditionally at its worst when he's packing on the pounds (2002, 2011-2014, now)
I imagine it's easier to sustain notes when you can run around freely and not get winded
-
I'll never understand why Axl didn't go back and re-record his vocals for the Chinese Democracy album after he got in shape for the 06-07 tour
Hearing some of those songs in 2010 for the first time with Axl singing with rasp...man, they were 100 times better than the album

If you feel that way, why waste your time? You obviously don't like Guns. So why not just move forward with your life.
Because Axl falling on his face after years of talking shit is funny
I'm here for the car crash

I don't get why people follow the band if they are going to be negative. Why waste your time?
Axl's put the fans through multiple wars over the past 20 years - we have every right to criticize him
Stadiums at this point are a terrible idea. They're not the Stones. They can't just walk back in after 20 years and assume they will have the same level of popularity.
30,000 fans in 70,000 seat football stadiums is going to be sad

This thread is making me understand how people are voting for Donald Trump to be the President a lot better.
'I want it the way I want it, how I want it, and when I want it. Really, it shouldn't this hard to satisfy me, and as we all know, I am the only one that matters. Should you fail to meet said requirements I will complain incessantly.'
Here is what I would do if I was this upset about any or all of this as much as the whiners are. Not go. Maybe make a post or 2 about it or whatever, then sell my tickets, cancel my reservations, simply not go and shut the hell up about it.
But why do that when you can go on, and on, and on, and on about how what is happening just doesn't work for you, all while annoying the everloving fuck out of the people that are going and are incredibly excited to do so.
Sorry to kill your boner, but Axl has been a steady stream of disappointment for almost 5 years now

Come on man, everybody who's been there has been impressed with Axl. Friends of mine who saw the snippets and had stopped following the band in 93 were impressed with what a 54 year old Axl still brings to the table. The only friend of mine who was there, was absolutely blown away by Axl. There are no clips of those songs as of now, but he says Axl went balls to the wall, full blown rasp on YCBM and, more importantly, Rocket Queen, which was considered by him the highlight of the night and Axl's best performance of the song since 2010.
Were you there? (legit question). If you were not, you should consider that you might be judging Axl way too fast, on way too little. Reviews unanimously state that Axl seemed sharp, prepared, in shape and absolutely dominated the stage.I've seen and heard enough. Axl Rose Disaster Part IV is weeks away
And don't get started with the "YOU WEREN'T THERE, MAN" bullshit. The recordings don't lie

Axl talks about being in AC/DC
in AXL/DC

If he was fully committed to the GNR reunion you would think he wouldn't have offered to tour with another band
Interesting
