  1. I thought they were on about oh my god, not Read. Definitely heard the other one!😄
  2. Bumble must feel great about his decision to jump SS GNR. I was so bummed out when we quit, but it's almost 10yrs later and two songs have escaped Axls grip. Not sure I ever heard Bumbles solo on that is there any place with a copy of it?
  3. Hey once you enjoyed it, screw everyone else!😄
  4. The fan pit is for people that can afford a more expensive ticket / mixed with some hardcore fans. If you want to hear fans singing deep cuts, GA or go to the first few rows of golden circle is the only place you see it IMO. Any time I've been in the pit / golden circle the crowd is rarely that aware of deeper material.
  5. As soon as he sang the verse in his upper range it sounded bad and his volume went down considerably. When he sang it low it was better if they are playing that then Axl should sing all the verses in his lower range and only go up for "I know it looks like I'm insane". So Overall 👎 thought ptu sounded much better too, Melissa was giving it a lot more too
  6. Where did I say he can't play? Put on your glasses old boy. I said quite the opposite BUT his improv is pretty bad more often than not... And his guitar sound does him no favours, if you're going to play with that sound then you need to be a whole lot more accurate as a soloist. And of course Slash is the star of the show. People love him, he's iconic and for the most part he's great... But you can't just ignore all the other stuff because it doesn't suit your fandom. He isn't up there playing the wrong chords all night, but he's lost some of his taste sensibilities. His rhythm is still pretty solid, it's not all about soloing at the end of the day. And I'm not a "Richard is the best" guy either. He's clearly a great player and tight but I don't really love his lead style. Love his nightrain solo though. I'd say sometime after the contraband your. There's been periods of greatness since though
  7. It's been a long time since I listened to Slash live where I was impressed. His sound is so thin, his playing is quite unmusical. Even on record he's failing to capture great performances or write memorable solos. I think his taste has just changed, and unfortunately for a percentage of fans we don't really enjoy it. Not saying he's bad all the time, it's mostly just when he tries to improvise... Something he was once pretty fluid at.
  8. If he's determined to release music that goes against the grain of traditional gnr then he can't get too upset if people aren't love bombing it, that is the risk you take. Maybe it takes, maybe it doesn't. If it's good I'm happy to cheerlead for it. If not fuck it😄
  9. Yeah I think he's referring to the songs that went to UYI from the AFD era. But... It would be kinda cool if there was so e good unheard AFD era songs still to be discovered and released... I think they would have materialised on the boxset or that Slash/Duff/Steven would have mentioned them in the last 30yrs though, and that they'd have played them live in the club days at the very least
  10. Right before his 35th anniversary and he's going to be fired... that's rough😜 But seriously that's a breath of fresh air hearing clearly laid out plans... maybe he should be tour manager AND band manager
  11. The ship sank because they waited too long to release the album, Axl was still too crazy to tour professionally, Axls performances started to dip, they failed to follow up on Chinese AND Axl mishandled the fight between himself and Slash/Duff publicly where he let Slash/Duff control the narrative. 2-3 from Nu(Old)GNR and Axl turning up on time like he does now, and GNR would have slowly gained ground. 100% never playing stadiums, and never escaping the people wanting Slash back. The albums would have needed to be great though. I would have loved to hear what that 2006-2014 line up(s) could have made. Coulda woulda shoulda!
  12. Well, that's your ideology. I'm sure Axl and co are quite generous to charities, but as rich as you think they are you just never know what their costs are for lifestyle etc. Millionaires learn how to spend money. I'm sure the thinking behind this rumour is that, gnr are bringing in the business so they deserve a cut. I'd rather it in the bands pocket than a drink company.
  13. I was at that show in Dublin, front row and the crowd were really, really riled up. I had friends in the seats that were watching the crowd and thought there was going to be a riot (had he not returned it definitely would have escalated). People were of the opinion that show time is show time, and they didn't care that 'you should expect them on late'. Maybe you were there too, but from my perspective that was the most pissed off crowd I've ever been in. Don't get me wrong, Axl was more than fair that night... he could have walked off after the first bottle but gave the benefit of the doubt.
  14. His issue was that he was being a regular sarcastic prick internet user, and he should have come on as a professional GNR manager. He riled up the people and then they fired back. I agree that they shouldn't be insulting his family though. Insult the management strategy all you want, but nothing more personal.
  15. That's fighting talk! me you, anytime anywhere! just like Axl Vs Vince
  16. Yikes... this song played a few bpm slower kinda sucks. Zero percent swagger. Axl wasn't awful on it, but also not the best I've heard him do it in recent years
  17. My favourite heckle at a gnr gig was Dublin 2010 "fuck off you Tennessee cunt" aimed at Dj. Words only a Dubliner would think to shout at full volume😄 Are you starting something?💪
  18. Why pay to see gnr and shout fuck you at them? Don't go if you don't like them.
  19. This is some of the most misguided nonsense I've seen in a while AND COMPLETELY unrelated to this show and GNR. I would love to get into specifics but it would derail this altogether, very, very tempting though😄
  20. I don't think that's accurate. A lot of people think he sounds bad, a good amount think he sounds good and some crazies think he sounds as good as ever. Reading comments it's a mixed bag, but there was far more people saying "Not a fan but for a 60yr old, he's doing ok" and things like that. A lot of people are giving him a bit of a pass due to his age. I personally think he isn't old enough to be getting passes for not being able to sing his most famous songs anymore... but whatever. Jungle at the current tempo is so dreadful... and those drums drive me insane! somebody please tell Frank to play the h-hat the way it's supposed to be played, closed h-hat on the verses and a slower tempo than the studio version just make it dogshit...I'm trying to be polite! AND Axl still can't sing the damn thing! may as well have the tempo back to what they were doing in 2016 at least the band would sound good!
  21. Dangerously worded, but you're point is taken! make it a staple by playing it. If GNR did a better job over the years of playing the back catalogue more thoroughly a lot more people would be aware of the "lesser known" songs, estranged included. Any song that was a single and is now a deep cut is pretty inexcusable😄
  22. I'd love if they brought the Garden back. But that's a deep cut for stadiums😄
  23. Touring and maybe (big maybe) some new music. I don't ever expect a new record with the current band... But you can't write it off completely
  24. Ah... I didn't say anything about global fanfare. I said it was news. And by that I mean that some level of more casual gnr fans and critics were made aware of the release because rolling stone, classic rock, blabbermouth, loudwire etc. All picked up the songs and wrote reviews and articles about what it might mean in terms of new music. A lot of people to this day are still unaware there's new music out, but they are also just learning that Slash is back in the band and that Chinese was released nearly over a decade ago, so... Never said it was comparable to 91. Nothing is and ever will be for gnr, I'm not that delusional. Now i've obviously wasted many years of my life on a gnr forum, but most of us know the score🤣
