If the the venue is 40/50000, then the break even is probably around 20k tickets sold (who knows?). 20k for a 80k stadium would not pay the band and the promoter. Obviously the band is paid regardless, but the promoter is not booking a show that they aren't confident they can get their investment back a few times over. He's sales in the NA market are poor from over touring and not really giving a bells and whistles show. In Europe the fans are a little bit more about the performance, in America the show (pyro, lights, stage design) as well as crowd Interaction are more important...and gnr have scaled back so much on all of this. I almost guarantee that gnr with some kind of gimmick stage similar to the U2 claw, would sell out all across NA. A bare bones tour will sell hit and miss, and that's alright, you cannot expect to sell out every year you come through. They need some kind of marketing buffer to move tickets. New album press or a big interview with 60minutes or something would all move things a little (not the difference of selling out), but a week, they've nothing planned.

Tommy more recently said Chinese was to be a double, but it just took so long and certain songs weren't complete so they went with what was finished and what fit. Who knows where they were with some of those songs. To me, State of grace is an obvious one that would be finished as he went in and sang over it, Which means he was inspired by it. The instrumental tracks? Who knows what was done in the following 8yrs and who knows what was done after 2008. Hopefully we find out one day. Axl doing an ask me anything would be amazing, just to get answers on all this BS once and for all.

Nuno is a tool, but he is a great guitarist. He just shoots off his mouth from time to time as he loves the sound of his own voice. Great player though! Also, this doesn't need to be some battle of the fans. The amount of nuts in the comments of each guy saying "you're so right, your so humble and brilliant and an amazing person and the best guitarist..." It's just embarrassing seeing grown-up people saying this stuff. I get it, you admire someone but they are just musicians.

Fortus playing it very well so far, he's been nothing but complimentary and diplomatic to Nuno even after Nunos very aggressive post which he's definitely seen by now.. considering Nuno linked him into it😄 god, Nuno might be one of the greats but he has definitely shown his "star quality". I could see Richard throwing some subtle shade on Nuno down the line, but with Richard you never know when he'll strike. Look how long it took him to go for the ex gnr guys 😄 I mean Richard might be in the right here, but let's not forget his egotistical side too. There are just some people that should not be on the internet searching their own name, Nuno is one of those.

Nuno could have just said "Slash was a bad example, I just meant rock guitarist in general have a difficult time playing outside of a rock context" which by and large is true. He made the statement about an iconic player, so he should know there's blowback on that. See how he also framed it like "everybody's jealous of me because I get so much press time, just wanting to tear me down". Very arrogant and the only person tearing him down is himself. Doubt Richard responds to this, but it would be interesting 😄

Wow.... Nuno just came in and shit all over Fortus. I read what Nuno said in that interview, and it was very clear that he said a guy like Slash couldn't do that gig. He might say he was misquoted but that's what was said. Absolutely no need for Nuno to go with the I've never heard of you / replacement guitarist.... lines trying to suggest Richard or anybody who isn't as famous as Nuno should dare challenge him on a stupid comment. I heard Nuno playing that Rihanna gig, and he can say he wants but it was Nuno playing rock guitar over the Rihanna band, he was wasn't perfectly nailing rnb, reggae and all those styles. I think Nuno is a fabulous guitarist but this response is way over the top. Extreme can consider all possible support slots with gnr off the table🤣

Because you can't imagine it, it can't be done? Yeah that holds up... Plenty of music without the vocal might seem impossible to sing over, yet singers manage in all kinds of styles. Like, there are songs with vocals that don't even use melodic instruments. Axl singing over some video game style music isn't that unrealistic. That's all I gotta say about that

Pele 2.0 I am 100% convinced that you have no way of backing up this theory. He could very easily have once recorded a simple scratch vocal, and with that it would mean there was once a version with vocals... How can you be so absolute when you have no information? Maybe he didn't, maybe he did... We'll probably never know, but until I hear one of the producers or Axl or any of the ex guys that would know what was done, I'm definitely not making any concrete statements.

What song copied Teen spirit? I have a feeling you're referencing him wanting the drum sound of teen spirit on the title track of CD. Not really a copy, had I not read the Zutaut interview I don't think I would have made the connection. I don't disagree that 90s alternative scene hugely influenced Axl though

As long as you're not counting ballad of death and that other muck as writing for the band, then I'll take your points😄 I do agree with you on Gilby, his intros were very bare bones and skippable. I just think his general look and rhythm style suited really well... And his solo material does zero for me too.

I don't really care what name they collaborate under, I'd love to hear Axl singing on new music written by Slash. Slash is the songwriter there... 🤔 unless you are specifically talking about lyrics. And Myles isn't even my taste all the time, but he definitely is a competent songwriter. The World on fire album has some great vocal/lyrics as does year of the tiger

Hard to release an album out of the blue based on poor sales IF the sakes are bad. They have to have physically copies in the pipeline too and that takes time

Gilby over Ashba? Wow. I thought gilby fit the band better than Ashba and Gilby to my recollection was never as hit and miss live... Although there's probably less available concerts to compare.

DJ was my choice. But pitman deserves a shout too, just for being such an arrogant douche when I met him, Frank who was there was an absolute gentleman... So he has a free pass for life on messing up the don't cry drum fills😄 DJ seemed like not the worst guy, but I hated his persona and playing "style".

I think OMG is a pretty cool song, the mix does have a demo sound... but listen to some of the albums that came out in the late 90s early 00s, mixes were weird back then. I just listened to the Murderdolls album again for the first time in years, it's the most bizarre mix i've ever heard. OMG vs Absurd... not even a question. He didn't say that. He said nothings been recorded (besides the Chinese era material) and that they haven't been in a room together yet. However, he did deny the reunion right up until it was announced, he also lied about visiting Axls house all those years ago during the VR days... he's not above telling a few porkies when it suits. Could they have more stuff recorded? sure... do they? I wouldn't think so, but it's not that far fetched.
