It must be pretty hard to find some consistent playing by Slash and singing by Axl...

I’ve been listening to lots of Slash live footage from the last 10 years and he has somehow lost what made him unique.

    He’s ALWAYS rushing now.

Listen to his live performances of Wicked Stone...that amazing last solo. Well, live, its melody is completely lost in noodles that dont even fit the song.

i think its an addicts brain/ADHD kinda thing lmao his nickname even comes from it, I think he is a natural born improviser and plays everything to sound good to his ears and keep himself interested in his own playing rather than play anything note for note (Axl seems to be the note for note consistency kinda guy nowadays which sucks cause his voice has changed) .

Right because let axl be harassed by trolls with nothing better to do in their lives

Lmao so just say a member of the general public looks up a GnR video and hears Axl butchering songs and decide to comment that it sounds bad, that makes them a troll? Like i have never listened to puddle of mudd but i commented that their Nirvana cover was a disgrace. Am i a troll for giving my opinion?

Yeah, so this was intended for the Toronto show only with Rush co-headlining with GNR lol.  It would definitely sell the place out in Toronto.

rush has more value in ontario than guns n roses and im 1000 percent sure of that

(guns is a legendary band for sure but rush is on another level here in ontario and canada in general)

Does anyone know if ticketmaster will let you exchange your tickets for seats of equal value? I got floor seats on the live nation pre sale for philly, but there are better seats available now for the same price.

yes they usually will, for a fee of like 10 dollars a ticket. I've done it almost every time I've seen a big stadium show.

  5. autotune is a product/brand of pitch correction/modulation made by antares that has become a blanket term for vocal pitch correction. Melodyne is the absolute best pitch correction software now imo, easier to use and cheaper for what you can do with it. The autotune sound ala T-Pain or Cher or whatever can be made in Melodyne and its actually really nice to subtly layer underneath vocals that ARENT pitch corrected to give a better sense of melody, but when you double up a pitch corrected vocal it ends up sounding like recent Ozzy.

As far I'm aware, no unfortunately. I think back in 2017, Angus' idea was to keep Axl as the vocalist, but after Mal died that changed. AC/DC doesn't hit the studio until a album is fully written, so they can record it in about 6 weeks to keep the sound on the album "fresh".

honestly i dont think malcolm passing away was a thing to do with it, he was in bad shape. I think angus realised he had to respect the AC/DC legacy and bring back brian. who knows, he could bring axl back after they give AC/DC fans proper closure, we cant count anything out anymore.

Lots of different voices on CD. On Chinese Democracy the main voice is a powerful low register thing. Madagascar is also low but Axl adds some scratchiness to it that makes it really full-sounding, I'd call it raspy. Then there are songs with his thin voice, that he seems to have been fond of for this period. Not my favorite, but pretty impressive when he showcases the range like on the end of TWAT. With the recent leaks we get even more diversity! Nothing is almost a croon. State of Grace is, in my subjective opinion, probably the most impressive vocal take from Axl where he sings chest voice then goes slowly up through a sustained scream before he goes absolutely nuts at the end finishing the song with two extremely impressive screams (the vocal delivery, not the tonal quality, reminds me of Perfect Crime live from'91 where he is so taken by emotions he can barely get the words out). Eye on You has at least three different voice from the thin voice in the verses to a deep line in the chorus, a chest "hey" line and the background woo-hoo's. Hard School is interesting in having verses that are more thin (and with some filter) before the chorus is more raspy and angry.

I think the CD era has been very interesting vocally, and although I am not very much a fan of his choices, he keeps it interesting and at best is simply astonishing. And making it seem like he only uses the think, Mickey voice is simply not true. The leaks have further cemented this.

yup, my gripe with the clean/thin vocals on CD are they simply arent as nice sounding as the raspy ones in the mix. it seems like they have too much compression and it makes axl sound squeaky and wimpy. Even the Roy Thomas Baker mixes, they should have mixed the clean vocals more like Geddy Lee or something, it's too top 40 pop sounding in its current form, when the raspy voice sounds defined and rich.

He sings it so.............weird, I guess is the best way I can put it. He should be able to nail it. It's nowhere near out of his range. He just sings it way weired than he needs to.

The chorus is too high for his natural register and too low for head or chest voice so he came up with a harmony thats more suitable to be a backing vocal. Duff sings the REAL main melody the way its supposed to be.
