  1. First off, I think Axl never really lost anything on his voice until after 2006, and even then in 2009-2010 he had wicked grit. after seeing GnR in ottawa last month solely listening for the mix on Axl's voice on several songs , he's actually losing his range finally. Even going back to coachella/vegas, then the first leg of the tour, his voice cracks were not there/just starting, and now his voice cracks really hard even on welcome to the jungle, nightrain, and he goes to his chest voice rather than scratchy head voice whenever he can.

he hasn't gone a show without voice cracks on high notes since AC/DC's first tour leg with him, and hadn't ever had that issue really before. :(

TLDR, axl is finally old, losing range and his high notes are failing him.

Interesting that the stadiums are a lot smaller this time around, I guess that's why they call them "secondary markets". Have they played all the mega stadiums in the States and these are just the next rung down?

These ones don't even have four sides.

Cause the redblacks suck ass haha

Lol no falsetto. Learn about singing.

Literally not one song of the show is falsetto, it's all head voice. I'll admit I thought it was falsetto the first time I heard the "Mickey voice" but it's not, I learned to sing the same style lol Axl just has a fairly soft head voice when he's not compressing the shit out of it...... I'll send you a clip of me doing the fuckin Mickey voice and then raspy voice if you want ;)

I think the issue is high pitch rasp with Axl.  He has plenty of rasp in the lower registers.  Steven Tyler sings in a lower pitch with his raspyness.  His high pitch screams were never what I'd call raspy.  I'd be very impressed if he can hit the high note screams at the end of Dream On at his age.  I'll probably see for myself whenever they start their US farewell tour (which has apparently been delayed because they want to try and make another album).

He can hit them still, with ease, but it's a way different techniques than Axl, Steven is a tenor who screams in falsetto nowadays, Axl is a bass-baritone who uses chest and head voice and no falsetto

Do you think Angus's guest appearances are just cover for when he is working on material with Axl?

This is what I was secretly hoping

I think so honestly, ACDC tracks full albums in weeks, vocals literally probably wouldn't take more than a week themselves, and it would explain him holding back the Europe leg, can't have the ole voice getting worn out and sounding croaky while tracking.

Plus it's sorta common knowledge that Angus wanted acdc to do more pre-Axl

  6. Spoiler Alert, we are halfway through the album/tour cycle that ACDC sticks to, assuming they're a bit more productive with Axl than Brian. New album deets and new bass player deets in the spring is my guess, new album could even be done by winter and released in spring if Axl already worked on it, rock or bust was done very quickly with older ideas.

NOBODY who was at the show would say anything but Axl sounded phenomenal.  You can nitpick a radio feed all you want...more power to you.  But you are working from a flawed product.  Every single review of the show (Billboard, Vulture etc) singles out exceptional vocal chops for a reason, everyone who was there would agree.  Everyone.

I was mid orchestra level next to John McEnroe and it was funny as I remembered thinking mid performance "well the naysayers can go to town about lack of Izzy and Adler or proper tribute to AFD but they cant say squat about one of the top 3 greatest rock vocalist delivering a lights out performance."

The bitterness of some of the vocal minority of "fans" here is truly mindblowing.  Enjoy your time in living in your parents basements in your tidy whiteys.

axl sounded like poop and now theres a soundboard. go listen to shoot to thrill from lisbon, then my michelle from apollo, and tell me thats good. the people in attendance thinks he sounds great because of hi SPL's

If Axl were lip syncing, I'm sure he'd choose far better vocal tracks to use.

I think someone's probably adjusting the sounds and making minor pitch/tone corrections to Axl's vocals on certain parts. So it's not lip syncing. It's just some digital effect, I think.

i wonder if this is melissa's role :o

Glad I'm not the only one who appreciated last night's version.  Some others here thought it was an utter wreck, but I was mesmerised.  Different ears hear different things I guess.  I quite like it when they take classics off piste every now and then.  It's not my favourite Guns song so maybe I'm more open minded about them fucking around with it.

this versions incredible and the original is my third favourite off appetite already! team 4tus queen

Judging for the massive voice cracks on raspy parts at Europe and Israel and Axl's general level, his current vocal capabilities are not good enough for an AC/DC tour.

yes they would be, the brian stuff might not hold up however, but if theres new material like AC/DC usually tours to support, it will be axl comfort zone stuff and mostly bon stuff.

hells bells, back in black, thunderstruck and FTATR are the only ones really needed imo.

The difference between Angus and the Who is that Who is really legendary and Angus doesn't even come close to them. But if you ask me wheather I would like GNR to play 3 Who songs instead of their own and wheather I would want that on their show, the answer is simple - No.

Exactly. The same guest every second or third show? It's ridiculous.

angus is a legend, no other way about it
