  1. So, I met Axl outside of my hotel after the Oslo show (big moment) and the thing was caught on film by somebody and found its way to some tabloid rag and it was brought to my attention that the video was put on their web page. I called the rag and told them I was in the video they had put online, and they used the oppertunity to ask about my meeting with Axl and that they'd like to do a small article about it. I immidiately was sceptical because I know how the media treats Axl but I thought "I'm sure Axl won't mind some fan talking nice things about him in the media and getting him some positive media attention for a change. So I told them how we met and how cool Axl was, and guess what the guy asked me? "So, I know a lot of people think that Axl is washed-up, what's your thoughts on that?". When I told him I thought the show was great and that Axl was in better form than ever he moved on to the next question. "So you met him at 3 in the morning, was he sober? I guess he came from a bar or something?" I was like WTF, no, he was real cool and sober too. Then the guy was like "Ok, so you don't have the impression that he is washed-up?". I said no. Alright, the guy told me, "can you email me some pictures?". I said yeah but I know how the media treats Axl Rose, I don't want to be associated with that. The guy was like "haha, ok, talk to you later." Didn't hear anything more from them and they didn't print the storyt (thank god). Can you believe this shit?? Now I know exactly what Axl has been putting up with all these years! It's so sickening that I'm beyond words. If it's about Axl and it's not negative, it's clearly not worth printing. Biased fucks! FUCK THE MEDIA!

I have gotten a few emails from various places asking about Axl or the band, I always reply the same way "FUCK OFF!" I would never discuss anything to do with anything about guns with anyone in the media or any kind

Wow, that's really cool of you! Maybe Axl will read this and invite you over to play video games and eat cheetos. Because, you know, this definitely happened.

  2. It's definitely an interesting situation they're in right now. Even if what MSL said is true (which I kinda doubt), I could understand the label being unsure how to release/promote the thing after the whole Chinese Democracy ordeal.

Agreed. Axl was completely MIA during Chinese Democracy's release, so I could see some hesitation from the powers that be in regards to how to market this album.

As far as MSL and the July release rumor, I'm going to let myself get excited about this. Why? Because, say what you will about him, he's never made any claims like this just to watch the GNR fans freak out. As always, until it's denied by someone credible, there's no harm in getting excited over good news. :D

  3. ^why do i have trouble believing you? Just seems too...idk. Convenient that you'd show up and say that.

maybe to say that is why i showed up . . .

but what do i know, i only broke the best buy deal, the release date, shared tracks year after year, etc . . .

Haha, can't thank you enough for all of the above, and thanks for breaking this as well!!

Let's just all hope UMG realizes that there's no arguing with Axl and the July release goes as planned.

  4. My guess is that the (possible) July release is CD II or 'Guns N' Roses' as it's rumored to be titled, and the 2011 album Dizzy and Ashba were referring to is a completely new album that's being written by the current lineup as we speak...

  5. This just in:

A recent HTGTH study reveals that Irving Azoff is actually, in fact, a Vampire. Yes, a vampire. HTGTH founder and head administrator, /jarmo, had this to say: "While obviously linked to The Beast, we've also come to the conclusion that Irving Azoff seduced Axl Rose with his vampire charms, got himself hired as a manager, and botched the release of Chinese Democracy, all as a plot to replace Axl Rose as the new lead singer of Guns N' Roses. This and more will be proven in court, with myself serving as W. Axl Rose's sole counsel." More to follow as this story unfolds.

  6. I think, as usual, a lot of us want to root for Axl, but let's not forget that Irving didn't become as powerful as he is by being an idiot who goes against the law to screw over his clients. Axl could have met him half way with the promotion and marketing, he didnt. So when the judge asks Axl why he never met Azoff half way with anything and Axl replies, "Because I dont vant to do eet." he might have Axl put in a straight jacket on the spot if you catch my drift.

Because singers handle promotion and not managers, right?

C'mon man - some us have been following this thing since '87.

Axl has ran through a "whose who" list of managers, producers...hell even lawyers. Guess all those guys are all out to fuck him?

We on this board tend to look these guys as "nobodies", but they aren't - in fact they are people who have more clout/pull....then we realize.

At some point, you have to wonder has axl blackballed himself?

Who wants to work with him? It's not by accident that the people in his band now, are noname musicians, who need a paycheck.

Maybe its just that Axl does not bend over to the people others do. Maybe he has a pair of balls instead of letting people push him over for a buck, maybe just maybe Axl is the last real rock star.

    Ugh.

Did Elvis spend this much time in a court room?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Axl stick it to the man on this one. But, honestly, managing Axl Rose must be one of the most frustrating and maddening jobs on the planet and the fact is, Irving Azoff got Chinese Democracy out which is something every previous manager failed to get Axl to do. I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing that it was done solely as a, and I quote, "Diabolical plan". It's just too much.

  8. "Among other things, Azoff pulled the VIP ticket packages that were set up for tour dates in Canada resulting in loss of substantial

    revenue."

Shit.... and I blamed Axl for this! :fuckyou: Azoff. I waited 20 years for those tickets!! I hope Axl kicks your ass....

Weird Axl would put that in his countersuit - because in the "Axl Chats", he said he was against that sorta thing. Making fans pay to spend time/meet a performer.

    He called it "lame."

In fact, maybe some of you should go back and read the Axl chats and the Billboad/Del James interview, because some of the stuff he said then, contradicts what he is saying now in his lawsuit.

Now this, this is a good point here...

  9. December 11, 2008

"There are no plans of a reunion, nor have there been any discussions of a reunion, with former GUNS N' ROSES band members. In the future, we hope that if media have any questions concerning GN'R, they'd at least check their facts before running inaccurate stories for their own benefit."

    - Irving Azoff

Yeah, definitely seems hellbent on destroying the current band here...

  10. So you are saying that Glazer, an MMA guy, should be afraid of a washed up rock star diva who punches papparazi camera men? Not to mention, a guy who was punched in the face by a fashion designer. Dude, do yourself a favor. Stay away from Vegas.

Exactly. Where does everybody get this shit that Axl is tough? Are we basing this on his Everly / Seymour ass-beatings?

    B....BBA??

Haha, good to have you back!!

  11. On one side you have a conceited ugly loud mouth bitch that demands you to fuck her in exactly the way she dictates (USA).

On the other side you have a sensual, generous, enthousiastic hot girl you want to make love to and she wants it too (rest of the world).

    Easy pick.

    Idiot.

  12. That may all be true, but Axl is only human.

You don't want to play to half filled buildings every night and have your efforts be referred to as "the troubled tour".

Jarmo once talked about how GNR was avoiding the states since they'd probably want to reward the countries where CD did really well, and where the new band is well-recieved. So I'll defer to my last comment where I said that unless they have something new to promote, a U.S. tour is highly unlikely, and if thrown together, would certainly be a "troubled" tour.

Which sucks, as there is definitely an audience for this band in the states, just not on a huge arena tour level anymore.

The truth is that the window for this band to be mainstream again closed after the 2002 tour fell apart, and was certainly soddered shut when they failed to deliver Chinese Democracy, as promised, in 2006. Add Axl's disappearing act around CD's final release in 2008, the complete lack of videos, mainstream interviews and promotion and....I think it's safe to say....A U.S. tour with no new album lined up would most likely be dead on arrival.

    So...When's CD II coming? ;)

i don't know if soon is the word.

just kidding. i'm hoping by the end of this year..

Me too. The next album dropping this year is without a shred of doubt the best thing that the band could do, both for themselves, and the fans.

yeah i think so too. but if they drop the album, i hope its an album recorded with the current line up. if its recorded with buckethead, finck and brain its probably awesome but just not what the band needs now. i think they need a brand new record which is their own.

it would be SO awesome if they dropped it before the europe tour starts and tour it from there :D :D i'm going to the second concert in norway. i would seriously die if they play new songs there :xmassrudolph:

I gaurantee you that IF the next album comes out this year (and that's a big IF) Buckethead, Finck, and Bumble will be all over it. Not sure about DJ. To be honest, I'd prefer it that way as those 3 absolutely tore it up on CD.

  15. As we all know, most of Axl's music is based on an element of truth (see Live Era). He seems to receive alot of his inspiration from ex-loves, assholes who wronged him, and his endless legal woes.

Now that Axl is pushing 50, has no relationship (that we know of), and doesn't do enough to warrant being sued as often, what would be his inspiration for future material? Is the reason he continues subjecting the world to these ongoing Chinese Democracy tours proof that there isn't much in his life to inspire him? Let's face it, writing an album about sitting on the couch for months at a time, eating cheetos, and having farting contests with Beta doesn't sound very rock n roll.

Overall, is the lack of persecution and litigation the reason why Axl isn't able to come up with anything new?

Exactly. This is why I believe that CD2, or the rest of what was recorded during the CD sessions, is our last hope to hear any new music from Axl Rose. It makes me laugh when I hear people calling for the current lineup to 'hit the studio' and crank out another album. That just isn't how Axl operates anymore. I just get the impression that Axl hasn't been inspired to create new music since 2002-2003 or whenever the last of "Chinese Democracy" album(s) were recorded in any real capacity, other than the numerous tweaks and added musicians.

I could be wrong, as we really have no idea what he's been up to in his down time, and Lord knows there's been plenty, but I just don't see any reason to believe he has another album in him, other than what's already been recorded for Chinese Democracy II.

  16. Come on down to the Mazda Machine

We'll find you a Madza at an affordable price

If we all drove Mazdas we would all live like kings

If we all lived like kings there would be no wars

If there were no wars then we'd never fight

So come on down to the Mazda machine

  17. a U.S. tour is highly, highly unlikely and would, to put it gently, not be a successful outing. Just the way it is.

Not too smart of Axl to burn his bridges with the CEO of Ticketmaster / LiveNation.

Burning bridges is Axl's specialty, why not add one more self destructive notch on the peg? Truth is, I'd love a U.S. tour and album coinciding together this fall (who wouldnt?), but honestly, if we havent learned by now that "good ideas" are consistently avoided like the plague, then I don't know what to say.

  18. I would like to think the band would hit the US in the autumn or fall if they were going to tour there this year. Hopefully there are plenty of UK shows beforehand.

Unless they have something new to promote, a U.S. tour is highly, highly unlikely and would, to put it gently, not be a successful outing. Just the way it is.

  19. Beta told me that it was still "on the horizon". Which is good, as it shows it's on Axl's to do list. But she also added that this does not depend solely on Axl.

Right, but you have to remember that CD was on his "to do" list for like, 10 years.

Right, but my point is to show all these newbies who don't even believe that this album exists that it is, in fact, on its way.

The last time Axl spoke on the subject, he said it didn't.

Isn't he his own best source.

He did sort of contradict himself. During the Axl chats he seemed genuinely excited about the prospect of putting the next album out, even offering up titles and details about songs, giving a late 2009 possibility for its release. Two months later during the Del interview he seemed jaded and seemingly batted away questions about the next album giving the "Dont know, dont care." answer. I'm not sure whether he was being intentionally coy, or whether he's lost interest in putting out CD2. Which is why some clarity on the next album would be more than welcome. :shrugs:

  20. Don't know why people started this rumor. I asked DJ and Ron in Costa Rica and there's not album on the way, DJ told me that he's alway writing and that the idea is to work on an album, and Ron said that he have no idea of an album...so, please stop it.

Wrong. Axl said it's coming and I believe him. Don't you have any faith in him that he'll put it out?

Didn't someone close to the band tell you its coming out? Who was it, please tell me!!!!!!!

Beta told me that it was still "on the horizon". Which is good, as it shows it's on Axl's to do list. But she also added that this does not depend solely on Axl.

Was this in person, or via PM?

Wow, nice. It does sound like Axl might have to come to an agreement with the record label again before it is put out, that could be what she meant by not depending solely on Axl, just my opinion.

I think that's the mane issue when it comes to the next album. I'm sure he wants to put it out, but doesn't want t to be hasty with doing so, especially after what went down with CD.

I also hope Axl meets them half way this time and promotes it. I think that's why fans are all calling for this album now, while the the band is active, as we're concerned he might be MIA upon its release again...
