The sad thing is, this is arguably true. Slash did more in 2008 to promote Chinese Democracy than Axl Rose, simply due to Axl's disappearing act. And here we are, two years later scratching our heads wondering where the next album is. Well, what reason does the label have to work with Axl again? There's plenty other artists who are willing to promote their albums and work with the labels.

I've always said if they come to Chicago during this tour, I'll buy tickets in a heartbeat. They're my favorite band and I'll always support them. But the payoff for the fans has always been in new music. I'd gladly sacrifice an American leg of the tour (they've done it twice for this album anyway) if it meant Axl taking the time needed to master the next album.

I think a lot of fans were crossing their fingers that Axl would use this month off to finalize plans to put out the next album along with the alleged U.S. tour. Apparently he had other plans.

To be honest, I expect it out around 2013-2016.

Next month, we'll be celebrating 10 years of the Chinese Democracy World Tour 2001-2011. I guess, we'll always have more of that to look forward to!!

Fans who are cheering "Yay!! Go Axl!!!!" need to realize that while Axl's pocket book may benefit from this, the fans are the ones who are going to get screwed over by this once again.

I'd like the U.S. tour to do well, so yes, I think they should release CD II first.

Why is it that whenver someone in the band offers something slightly positive about the future, someone else in the Guns camp has to rush in and do damage control. "I know what's been said, but let me assure you all, the future is still bleak, dark and boring. Sorrrrry."

Err, so going by Ron's statement it doesn't look like we can expect CD2 or the next recorded album anytime soon. Awesome.

I just hope that Axl puts out the rest of the CD era stuff before returning to the studio with the current lineup. It would make buzz for this alleged U.S. tour double if they announce the next album soon.

Yeah, but Axl does what he wants when he wants to do it. A 20page thread isn't going to get him to come here and give us an update. I just don't see it happening. I hope I'm wrong.

I think Axl's refusal to do anything he doesn't feel like doing has been hyped up a little to much. He's a person, who responds to other people, just like everyone else. But like I said, it's a chance. Even if it's a one in a million chance, letting him know we're psyched about his music and that we're excited for the next album couldn't hurt if it means he might just throw us a crumb and let us know what's up.

Either way, it sure beats talking about his mustache, doesn't it?

Look, if Axl uploaded what he has on megaupload and gave the fans a link on his Twitter "Here's your new album: link" I would be more than satisfied.

Right, but who knows what his obligations are to the label. I just hope they're not waiting for some huge payoff to put it out like the Best Buy deal. We could be waiting a good while longer if that's the case. We'll see...

I always wondered why he changed his tune about the next album so quickly. Axl seemed pretty excited about the next album during his chats, but just a few months later acted like it was the las thing he wanted to discuss. I just hope he wasn't reffering to the fans there.

Maybe he wants to keep it lower key this time, y'know not get everyone excited, expecting the worst etc. But who knows, I really hope he hasn't had a change of heart and will lock everything away forever, I'd much rather hear Robin and Bucket than DJ Ashba, or at least a mix of it all

I can understand creating art for the sake of art, but keeping these songs locked away would be just sad for the fans. I really hope that's not what's been keeping this album from being talked about, let alone released. Hopefully we will get both sooner than later.

As far as a title for the album goes, I'm sure Axl's had one ready for a while. Curious what it is though. Since CD2 is just a nickname given to the next album by the fans, I'm sure he'll give this one a fresh title.

I guess Axl regrets having told us so many times in the past that Chinese Democracy was done, that it would come out "soon", etc, and then having to deal with the frustration of the fans but... a small clue of what can we hope for in the near future, now that Christmas is almost here, that would be real nice

I agree that this is probably why he's been so mums the word on the next album since his chats. But yes, a small update couldn't hurt.

I'm sure that like most artists, Axl thrives on the support of his fanbase. This is just as much about supporting Axl's decision to put it out as it is about getting some kind of update.
