  1. In the past I have thrown my bass. I have never thrown it at Axl or anyone else in the band nor has anyone thrown my bass back at me ... yet. Axl has been a dear friend to me for nine years. We have no problem communicating and wish that people would stay the fuck out of shit they don't know anything about. There was no GN'R mutiny or any such thing after the ... gig and as far as I'm concerned this tour has been the most fun yet. The band is playing great and getting along better than we ever have.

Manets, that quote is four years old.

  2. What does Tommy falling down the stairs have to do with Robin quitting the band?

Even volcano doesn't know who's who in this band

People who point out logic and play devil's advocate are reduced to 'haters' by those who have no real arguments to the contrary. I was pointing out the fact that these guys rarely vent publicly unless it means they are at their wit's end. I love this band, and hope I'm wrong as this couldn't be good for the release of the next album if Tommy leaves. But if some moron wants to label me a hater for pointing out the obvious...oh well.

  3. Something must be up. These guys are typically very careful and tight-lipped about what they allow themselves to say publicly. Usually it's not until they're at their wit's end that they make statement like this. See Robin's 2007 message for further info...

"I'm writing now in the wake of the recently postponed and cancelled GNR commitments in Japan and in South Africa," he wrote. "I guess I'm writing because I too am disappointed, have a conscience, a website, and I am not on the Bullet Train to Osaka this evening.

"I purely want to share with those whom were avid for seeing GNR at these concerts that I too was looking forward to seeing you all. The band was primed and pumped, production packed and shipped. Then, much to our distress, unforeseen circumstance walked in, dropped its surly case and announced with certainty, 'I'm here!' What can we do.

"I have received innumerable emails from real people who where hooking up with friends or family, flying to faraway cities, booking hotels or friends' couches, docking the USS Kitty Hawk, and otherwise scheduling their time and enthusiasm around these events. In short, these peeps wuz straight stung adrenalized and lettin' me square have it! I too was psyched about the shows, planning to meet friends and family, watch the cherry blossom blossom etc. It is my wish that your bounce forward from here be one of a willful arc and opportunity. Believe me, I'm swallowing that very pill by your side."

He went back to NIN about 6 months later.

  4. Sounds awesome. Could be The General, but just the some orchestral part of the song.

That's what I think. I think that the rest of the song will be played on top of this part. I don't think it's just an intro.

Agreed. The orchestration here sounds really cool. For the love of God, I hope they push to get this album out very soon.

  5. It's probably a bit insulting to say that, but I've always felt that way, too, that Axl wasted his best years by "hiding" from the public.

To think of all the stuff that could've happened in those years...

    I have to agree.

However, CD2/The next album may be the light at the end of the tunnel as far as getting the rest of the songs that he wrote in his 30s during the 'Chinese Democracy' sessions. Let's just hope he gets them out sooner than later.

  6. It's either THIS

Anyone who thinks that Axl Rose couldn't release another album, pretty much at a whim, is looney. If he really wanted it out, I'm pretty sure he could do it within a few months.

    OR

    THIS

Agreed. It's just that when Axl spoke about putting out the next album during his chats, I really hoped they'd be able to do it smoothly, with few issues. Like CD's release would usher in a new era of limited bullshit, lol. Now with the constant flow of rumors circulating and Axl remaining tight-lipped on it for going on two years now, it's like 2006 all over again. :shrugs:

Either he can or he can't. Which is it? What's your argument here?

Well, what I was saying is that if Axl decided that he really wanted to put out the album he would most likely be very able to put it out within the next few months. My follow-up comment was about how because of the way he operates and all the things that could possibly add to the albums delay that are WITHIN HIS CONTROL could prevent this from happening any time soon.

Summed up, whether we get this album sooner than later will most likely depend on whether or not Axl feels like putting it out at a given time.

  7. Lets not forget that in the Del interview Axl said the album wasn't even finished so I still think new album talk is a but premature at this point. That doesn't stop me waiting for it with baited breath though.

That's another thing that may become an issue, delaying it further. I'm sure to everyone else who hears whats been recorded so far, they'd think "Well of course it's done, what's the holdup?!" But Axl might want to include DJ on the recordings which could take God-only-knows-how-long, as well as layers and layers of 'ambient noise' that could be added, as was done with the CD tracks.

So when you think about it, there's a whole tornado of possibilities that might keep this album off of our itunes for a long while. I just hope Axl goes through a "fuck it" period very soon and decides to throw the fans a bone and put it out as it is...

  8. Summed up, I don't think it's simply putting out the album that's the problem, but all the bells and whistles that they'll want to go with it that's going to keep the next album in limbo forever.

Spot on, apart from the 'forever' part. We will see another album, I have absolute faith in that.

I think we'll see it too eventually. I'm just not looking forward to another waiting game with all the rumors and constant b.s. that goes along with it...

No one is. Hopefully people will keep their heads screwed on this time.

  10. Anyone who thinks that Axl Rose couldn't release another album, pretty much at a whim, is looney. If he really wanted it out, I'm pretty sure he could do it within a few months. However, I don't know what kind of marketing campaign or what kind of giant payoff to put out the next album they're waiting for, but I'm pretty sure getting those in order is going to be the biggest holdup for him to put out the next album.

  11. How cool would it be for Dexter to show up and provide us with an update re a US tour and future album/s.

There's a lot of people out there who would try to stop a future album from being released 2 the fans, N' it's something I've always looked to do. They're more interested in making money for themselves than doing anything for the fans N' it's nothing to do with me not getting off my ass and doing it. That's not to mention that there's many times the alumni have tried to destroy Guns N' Roses, to deny you, the fans, what I feel is the true Guns N’ Roses. I have no intention, and I never did, of denying you something you would enjoy. The legal obstacles N' emotional challenges I've had to endure, not withstanding the very public personal objectives of one man who decided in his heart long ago to to take over Guns. If you only knew 3% of it.

    That's about right...

  12. Only Axl can say what is happening with GN'R. There is no other information source which is reliable at this time.

Not surprising. I'm sure by now Axl knows that if he wants to keep future plans under wraps he best keep the others in the dark about them, since all we get from the other memebers is muddled and incorrect information. Even Ron said he usually finds out about future plans right when we do, when 'official' announcements are made.

  13. From NewGNR.com

From what I've heard through some of my band contacts, 2011 should be a very cool year for the fans. Axl really wants to get Chinese Democracy's follow-up out there, they'd like to tour the US (unfortunately lawsuits may prevent them), and we may even get that remix CD album bundled with an official DVD release that they're working on.

Also, don't be surprised if you hear a previously unreleased song or 2 played live for the first time. From what I hear, Axl is wanting to test the waters. Keep your fingers crossed that it is either "Forgotten" or Atlas Shrugged". Whatever it is, you can be sure that it will be sweeeeeeeet!

Same guy who posted that on Here Today Gone To Hell back in the beggining of 2007:

To all the haters : I'm sorry for you not sorry for me. You don't know who you can trust now or who to believe.

Remember these words when the album comes out.

    I'm out of here

That's also the same person who posted the part from Zodiac.

    We'll see...

This person has no class. He has obviously had some contact with GN'R years ago, but he has used it to make up nonsense.

So...Does this mean, as far you know, that we're no closer to hearing the next album?
