Most of the people in the audience are casual fans and they wanna hear the bands classics. There's not much room left if you sum up every classic song, cover and solo/instrumental.

Well, a female colleague of mine was with her husband at the Gelsenkirchen show on Tuesday. So was I. My colleague is one casual fan of GNR. She knows the big hits and thats it.

The next day at work she came to me and literally said:

"The show was awesome but whats the story behind this whole cover thing?! I wasn't aware that GNR has so few own songs or why do they cover Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, folk classics etc. instead of playing something own. Aren't there tons of songs from those two 90ies albums with the yellow and blue cover they could play instead?! I mean two of their big hits are already cover songs (she meant LALD an KOHD). I wasn't expecting I bought a ticket for a cover band!"

Hence, even the average Joes or casual fans are irritated by getting about one hour of cover songs by a reunion tour of one of the biggest bands of the eighties/nineties who have at least three full albums with own material plus CD and other solo work from its members.

With respect to your statement this means GNR should create some room for their own songs by deleating at minimum two cover songs from the setlist.

There's a Ska/Reggae part in the middle of OMG.

    Ska.

    and.

    Reggae.

    In a Guns N' Roses.

    Song.

You know the similarity between a baby's Ass and Axl Rose's head?
You never know what will get out of it.

And sometimes, it's the same thing, believe me.

Have you ever heard a 90ies live version of this little song called KOHD performed by GNR?

I know they have fans all over the globe but I could never enjoy a band that doesn't speak the same language as myself.  Is that wrong?

No, its not wrong. Stay in your bubble and don't even try to look over the fence. I guess I have a clue from which country you are ;-)

To be serious. I am really sorry for you. You miss a lot great music.

I know I will be laughed at by the usual "they do it for the money" brigade, but I'll say this.

I look at the live shows as a gift to the fans. We could have ended with nothing at the end of 2014, but in stead we got a reunion of Axl, Duff, Slash and sometimes Steven. As bad as Axl's vocals get, it is still good that they are even touring at all. By now it is well documented how Axl's vocals have detoriated, and it's up to the fan to decide to shell out the money for tickets, or not. It's on your own responsability to do so. The vocals might be good, on a good day, but will probably suck. I knew this, and I still bought a ticket and I haven't regretted it a bit. The atmosphere, the sight of the big three up on stage, Slash still killing it, just the fact of seeing my favorite band on stage, at all. That is what I payed for when I bought my ticket.

99% of my activities as a GNR fan involve listening to the 1987-1993 albums on shuffle, reading Slash's/duff's/steven's books, interact with fellow GNR fans on the board, watch old concert films and by the end of the month relish in the appetite sessions. 1% involves seeing them live and being happy with what I have. 0% is spend moaning and complaining about Axl's current live voice.

Thank you very, very much, Sir!

This is exactly my point of view.

This was much better than some people gave it credit for.  It was great but might get there.. I love the way Axl does the chorus. Can't wait to see it after a couple more tries and when Axl is feeling a little better.  Anyone know what he says right after?
