Plus, Adler is adamant that it is definitely not him behind the kit. The man has his flaws, but he has always known his craft. Throw in Frank's refusal to answer the question by saying "that's a question for management". Very odd.

Interesting i hadn't heard Frank say that. I don't think it sounds like Frank, because seeing how hes played the classic GNR songs over the years, hes changed the kick patterns, fills, and cymbal hits of the songs.

Shadow's drums sound identical to what Adler played on the other 2(?) studio versions that exist, but much more lifeless, which is how I came to my guess that its just some modern, lifeless mixing/sampling on them. Like if they replaced every mic'd kick drum hit with a sample of Adlers kick drum from the AFD master tracks.

Im also not saying that it couldn't be him

Was this actually confirmed that it was re-recorded?

in my opinion sounds like they just put some samples on the snare and kick and compressed the actual stems in a more modern way (that effectively reduces dynamic range on purpose)

And sounds like Slash recorded some new leads, bc his sound was way more saturated back then, but on the record sounds like his modern tone

    the "hoos" seem new

Cheers, this makes sense! Did something go wrong at the end too? Coz he keps singing for 2 measures post the band stopping.

he just sang an extra line from the previous verse(?) when that last part doesnt even contain the extra line. Just messed up the lyrics

  4. @19AT5

Axl came in late bc weird the keyboard noise came in a measure too late, which is the cue for the guitarists to come in, so the guitarists (both Bucket and Paul) came in a measure late as well, which caused Axl to come in halfway on the 1st measure of the verse out of breath (to bd fair he didnt sound that much better on the HOB 2001 by alot, and everyone came in at the right time on that version)

to OP, yeah it has been blamed on a Slash shirt, maybe the guy was waving it around mockingly? idk, Ive never seen any concrete proof that it was a Slash shirt. Could have been a shirt that says "I love you Bon Jovi" for all we know

    What is the MSFL remasters?

they are remasters by a third party (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab)

It is a niche thing to most people because the only changed are that they gave more dynamic range

In the case of GNR, it helps songs with loud parts and way quieter parts like Estranged, Civil War, Coma. However for listening in the car not very good because in the car ideally to be equally loud all the time to hear over the road noise. But for headphone users and listening at home its great

The kick and the bass are slightly more punchier.

  6.

Shacklers Revenge- The secret version that doesnt exist that features only Finck and Bucket on RHYTHM guitars w/ a bucket solo.

Prostitute - Rough Mixes 1. Guitars are mixed very odd. but the mix of the drums and bass together makes me ignore the guitar mix. Axl is in dire need of the autotune/pitchshift they applied on the album version. Missing Bucketheads leads.

Scraped - secret version that doesnt exist that features only Bucket and no Ay-o's

ITW- Antiquiet leak. Brains drums have more groove for 90%, but i prefer the album "nah nah nah nah" part with the thing that Frank needed to do to lead into that EQ effect. That section of the song is directionless on the leaks, but eith the EQ thing, they direction to a nice sounding, but useless part of the song.  Only bad thing about the album EQ is that you can't make out Buckets nylon string work at all at that section (talking about the part right befkre the 2nd verse)

Catcher, the 2005/6(?) leak of the 1999 version.

CD - Josh version that is on RM1 bc Josh, and no autotune on Axl, or double/triple tracked vocals. Although i liked the albun lyric change of "while their arms reach out for your help". I don't like how pitmans synth guitar is mixed almost equally as loud as the guitars are (chorus section). I like how pitman is drowned out on the verses.

Better - 2006 original leak. Mix is better, beidge is far hard hitting as it should be. No pitchshift on Fincks solo

Sorry - the secret version that doesnt exist that has only Bucket and Finck on rhythm/lead guitars. I prefer Brains drum parts on the album. His parts on the leak are cool, but since it was just a jam with no vocal guide, his drums only corresponded to the instrumental

Madagascar - 🤷🏻‍♂️     The RM1 is mixed better, no autotune, no pitch correction of Buckets solo. The album versions solo section has a distortion pedal on Tommys bass which adds to that section a great deal (leak just has some sort of subass thing). Album versions strings in the chorus are cool, but that high string swell (probably Pitman/Reed) during the verses isn't adding much. The leads on the album versions of the chorus have better tone and melody  with the rerecorded ones (as opposed to the originals on RM1). There seems to be no version with a perfect mix of the wah rhythm guitar, and Fincks RHYTHM guitar on the chorus to hear both at good volume. I like Brains lead-in to the chorus more than Joshes. One of joshes I like more, but the others are too simple for what the song needed. I like the drum samples on the bridge better on the album version, but the drum samples for the verses I like better on RM1. Also, Bumblefoots unnecessary power chord rhythm on the album version is actually cool and works, even though it completely obscures both original rhythm guitars, but am unsure if I would like it in or not

The piano mixer looks pretty beat up, I wonder why Axl needs a piano mixer when he is a spontaneous excellent player, I remember all the piano intros to november rain were somehow a bit different night after night during illusion tour except the last minute when everyone knew that the song was about to begin

a mixer sets audio levels, and may include simple EQ settings to tinker with. Grand pianos are usually mic'd up with two microphones, and this mixers purpose would be to balance out the two microphones to get the best sound, and looks like it sends out the signal to 6 different signal chains. It has no effect on Axls playing.

  8. Personally, as someone who only drives the most 18 minutes to work without traffic, my logic would be that charging it over night and pretty much only at my house would save on gas, considering I have solar panels (although it is a solar lease, which I took over when I elected to buy the house) it would make a little more sense to charge it rather than buy gas in California. Im sure there are alsp incentives to having an electric vehicle such as possible rebates, as well as the fact that you can use the HOV lane eith only your self present in the car.

This isn't taking into account of the prices of electric vehicles, which may or may not be higher than their gasoline counterparts.

  9. Playing this game on GeForce Now (the original game streaming service?) on an Nvidia Shield TV

I like this game. Looks great, feels great. I do notice a couple bugs, but nothing game breaking

Never knew they were making this game for a decade, what the fuck happened there. Barely found about it with the breathtaking presentation they did

  10. Spotify is my main source of music

    1 Rage Against the Machine

    2 Red Hot Chili Peppers

    3 System of a Down

    4 Banda MS

    5 Michael Jackson

Although i have been playing Run the Jewels alot lately,  but I barely started listening to them within the past 2 months.

I almost never listen to GNR anymore. Only thing GNR related I listen to is the Village leaks that have vocals

  11. Music rarely makes me emotional. The only song thats ever made me even slightly emotional is You Take My Breath Away by Queen, but even then it was just more of an intense somberness when hearing it the first couple of times when I first discovered it.

I do appreciate the artistry of any song however, but rarely does one ever cause me to get emotional.

Metallica and Run The Jewels get me pumped while running/working out, does that count as an emotional response?
