  1. Riad n the Bedouins 1st verse going into the chorus is great, but when it goes back to the 2nd riff, with the dumbed down, simplified riff, it loses all momentum and starts sucking. the 2nd chorus is the best chorus.

Neither Robin Fincks, Bucketheads, or Bumblefoots solos are particularly good, but the variations of the riffs that go behind the solo are well arranged

    The chorus is extremely catchy.

Axl is the weakpoint of Scraped. The riffs are actually A1.

If the World is an extremely well written song, just doesn't go over well with people who expect blues hard rock

Didnt Bucket want axl to release CD of that year 06 and completely change the setlist to focus on the new songs and get rid of the old songs?.

Axl told Bucket, no to releasing the new album and he still wanted to keep playing the old songs as a way of keeping the old fans to then tranisting to the new stuff.

But this line of thinking is wrong, because i think Axl did want to stop playing the old songs as he felt he could not relate to them anymore.

I think Axl should have stopped playing the new songs in 06, include a press release to tell people that the focus is on new material and not the old. Fans could then judge themselves whether they wanted to embrace the direction of the band.

Something i think happened in 06 where it seemed Axl was to afraid to take one step forward and focus on the complete new lineup.

    where did you hear that?

  3. I find it hard to believe with all the Village leaks, that "Oh My God" was the only song written of its kind. State of Grace comes close, but Oh My God sounds like literally no other village leak song

On topic: Im starting to like the drum machine/samples used in conjunction with acoustic drums

Very cool.  It reminds me a bit of the break in Coma. Were you playing all the instruments?

yes on guitars/bass/808's, thanks for the kind words

It does reminds me a bit of Coma, but also something that Buckethead would shred on top.

A guy can only dream of having Bucket shred over his riffs

  5. State of Graces distorted/fuzz 1st verse bass line is copy n pasted to the 2nd verse, I discovered this while placing the 2nd verse over the 1st verse and precisely aligning the distorted bass waveforms and inverting one

this is really not worthy of sharing, just thought it was interesting that Axl (or Pitman/Reed) couldn't trust Tommy to play the same exact bassline twice, in a song that seemed to be mixed professionally

  6. hopefully the writing new stuff, makes slash write cool, darker riffs and progressions (ala "nothing to say", "beneath the savage sun", "speed parade", "good to be alive" prechorus, "do it for the kids" "dirty little thing" "she mine")

and hopefully it means including fortus in the song writing process, (assuming that he posses some sort of artistic integrity when it comes to song writing, and doesnt just phone it in with some cock rock riffs)

AND axl better come in clutch with dark songs too. itd be wild to see a song credit as written by "Axl Rose, Robin Finck, Slash, Duff Mckagan, Rochard Fortus" all on one song, but it could DEFINTELY work. i wrote it in all caps so its gotta be true

  7. went to the drive in concert. Crowd was having fun with it. We were all honking our horns and what not after songs. Lars slowed down almost  every song to near album tempo, even for "One" (which he always speeds up astronomically, among others).

The songs greatly benefited from that.

James sounded great, as good as S&M2 vocals, no noticable autotune or anything. The mixing was a little weird, but once you cranked the car radio it made more sense. Lars double kick drum was VERY audible for once (as opposed to their youtube videos)

    Fun stuff
