On the bus to Glasgow! Really excited for this one, hoping especially that @Amir finally gets to hear There Was A Time! I’m wearing a GNR tee and a leather jacket, got long dark curly hair and a buddy with me. Would be fun to meet some forumgoers! -

Heading for Scotland later this evening! Excited for this one. -
My third GN’R show, and it was probably the best one yet! Got to the venue a couple hours before GN’R, and watched Generation Sex for a bit from afar. Really fun to see them. Got a meter away from the rails an hour before showtime, and suddenly the whole place was packed. The anticipation was great, a lot of people who had seen GNR lots before, and the first time for a bunch of others. 5 minutes before showtime everything starts going down on the screens and PA, and out of nowhere the band just explodes into It’s So Easy. Amazing! There was a great atmosphere in my area of the crowd throughout, with jumping, dancing and crowdsurfing! Obviously a no-go for the security, but there was a remarkable good mood by the rails. I can’t seem to remember Norway having such a responsive audience for GNR, and in my opinion it reflected on the band. Richard was more pumped than I’d ever seen, Duff was often joking with him, and I got a few smiles and thumbs up from them both several times! I think Axl even gave me a side eye when I roared for Perhaps and The General Axl looked elated! Imitating people in the crowd and busting our balls nearly all the time. During Nightrain he sprinted to grab the train horn and constantly spammed it during the latter half of the song. Good vibes all around! The mix was very good. I had some professional ear protection gear that I use during my band’s shows which I brought along, they obviously helped, but I took them out for a minute and was surprised at how good it still sounded. The instrumentation was perfectly clear, and Axl was clear in the mix except for like 20 seconds of the whole show. Speaking of Axl, he is a powerhouse. I’ve mentioned before how GN’R consistently blows away younger bands in terms of tenacity and pure prowess, and it just doesn’t seem to stop. That man runs and belts for three hours several times a week, none of the bands I’ve seen or know seem to manage that, especially with an excrutiating vocal style like Axl’s. Loved hearing the deep cuts, the new additions were amazing and were really well received. I’m a big fan of Wichita Lineman, but that may be the song which kind of lost some people’s attention. I really kept waiting for Heaven’s Door to end, it felt extra long this time, but it may have also been because I was getting anxious about the curfew. Speaking of that, I disagree highly with the opinion that they should shorten the shows. I think this one was just shy of three hours, and I along with people around me were visibly bummed that they skipped the encore. When they still are capable of doing this for 3+ hours every night, I don’t think we should take that for granted. Axl sounded great too yada yada. My favourite singer of all time. He works just great live. Cried during Street of Dreams, amazing show. On to Glasgow!

What an amazing experience! I teared up when they played Street of Dreams. Just a shame they couldn’t do the encore!

The sound was fantastic last year compared to when I was at a 2018 show. If I remember correctly, the biggest difference seemed to be the loudness in general. In 2018 the opening bands were at a fairly comfortable volume, but when GN'R came on everything got beefed up to the point that it was difficult to sometimes make anything out. Last year however everything was perfectly clear and I could hear all the different elements and instrumentation.

Got a question for those who possess knowledge! I've ordered tickets for Glasgow via the Ticketmaster Resale service, which include physical tickets. The thing is, I live abroad in Norway and am slightly nervous as to if I'll even get the tickets in due time. I'll be travelling a day before the gig, so I should have received them before then, but is there anyone else with experience around this?

Fuck it, Indiana Jones was my childhood. I don't care if this is cheap nostalgia bait, because it is, and it works volumes on me. Solid cast too, Mads Mikkelsen is the quintessenential Nazi villian and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is amazing.
