I left that forum what feels like over decade ago because a mod deleted a positive comment of mine about Slash. If only Slash was interested enough to know who that guy is and how he took every opportunity to downplay his importance to GNR.
Anyway, don’t have to be bitter about it. Here Today Gone To Hell by name, Here Today Gone To Hell by nature.

I used to like Shotgun Blues only to be told by the internet that it is in fact rubbish.

I have they do a November Rain 2022 12” with Ain’t Goin’ Down 2022 on the b-side. That would pretty much be all I want and by this band’s standards fulfil Slash’s claim of more new music coming.

I still think Axl did some work on Shadow of Your Love.

It was a great show.
Was Queen’s segue into the fast version of We Will Rock You supposed to be like that? It sounded like something went wrong.
As for Axl. Someone just lost their job for filming him. For whatever reason he still hates cameras. No interviews, no TV performances, nothing. Well, apart from Selects on YouTube with various shots of him edited out.

If this is an audition for the new Foos drummer, he’s taking an early lead. Dave crying during Times Like These was painful.

Watching Josh Freese smash it to Van Halen right now. I’m not a Frank hater but the energy is leagues apart.

Pretty light on the covers front. LLAD and KOHD are basically adopted GNR tracks by now which leaves a Velvet Revolver song and Duff’s solo spot. Just the four (or five if you count the Rumble intro) must be a low for this tour.

Axl’s confidence is a curious thing. He still has that swagger on stage but the GNR name is a security blanket. I think it’s the same reason behind him being incapable writing any new songs. He’d rather hide behind someone else’s lyrics. It showed when he was singing with AC/DC.
I still can’t imagine what subject matter he’d write about today. When he did discuss the possibility of solo work, didn’t he mention an instrumental album or film score?

This tweet reinforces my belief that, unfortunately, Steven was never going to be up to the reunion job no matter how much we wish he was. A three hour show? Simply beyond him.
I hope we haven’t seen the last guest appearance from him though.

Coldplay stole it all. Their shit music requires it.

A GNR In The Round show would have been cool in their heyday. Axl would have spent the whole show running around the ring.

The only person they need to bring in to help Axl is someone with a list of all the comments about how much better his baritone is than strained Mickey and that it guarantees another ten years of touring without humiliating himself.
-
The most encouraging thing about this video is they’re allowed to show side profile shots of Axl again.
-
Given Slash’s Instagram and Duff’s side projects, I would still say that this is their favourite GNR song.

PS. As much as we luv u the fans we’ve written no new music lol.

I predict Mickey will be back in full effect at Glasgow but I didn’t really see any negativity about how Axl sang on Saturday like there is after most shows and it’s a lot easier for him.

SCOM can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear and it absolutely will not stop… ever.

They’ve barely got time to do SCOM, NR and PC. And so we get Blackbird instead.

They will never play two nights in a row again. That’s all. His voice should be back to what it was in Dublin after three days of rest.

I wish we could have YCBM done in the style of Shackler’s Revenge verses.

I am not surprised Axl is struggling to do two full length shows on consecutive nights when it can be a struggle for him at the best of times.

Twitter is complaining about the same sound problems as last night. On to Glasgow, I guess…

While it’s often easier to focus on the flaws and negatives, it’s still impressive that Axl can pull off Better and Reckless Life back to back as well as this.
