Yeah, I typed in the “gnr.lnk.to/thegeneral” link which was initially discovered earlier today and led some people to the “TG” gold/black artwork.
Did anyone get a photo of said artwork?

a big chunk of the Gn'R sound is present in Izzy's solo albums imo.
Good call. Baby Rann is awesome & just needed Axl/Slash. Effort less melody, sooooo good.

5 o' Clock is the best non-GNR music album Slash has ever done. There.
Its good, but doesn't Apocalyptic Love fit the best non_gnr album description?

Oh, one should think it's a song then, that's somewhat creepy and dark maybe... not to dark because it's a movie for kids but yeah, somewhat creepy.
And Scott W on. Definitely looking forward to hearing one day

I think this is what may have happened with that one, based on nothing other than the timing
Could be, but doubt it.

Crazy is definitely better than Dr Alibi imo.
Now all we need is The House Is Alive by VR.

Speaking of Depp, is there another Pirates movie coming? Loved the first movie.
Is Depp a good guitarist? Could he actually be classed as a musician or an actor that plays guitar 🎸 as a hobby?

Awesome stuff..... Wow, that chorus.

I would tell Axl that mygnrforum users are campaigning for him to bring back the 90s tighty whitey bicycle shorts.

Just read article that it's no. 1 in UK, that's crazy and poetic at the same time. Happy for them.

Well that guitar riff before and during the bridge from Monsters is pretty dope imo...
Yeah it is. I like the song, but definitely interested in hearing pre slash/Duff version.
I listen to the new Perhaps in my bastardization CDII playlist, but also love the demo more.

This one doesn't speak to me at all. Shotgun Blues-level track. And the whole school theme, with the bells and that artwork, just makes me cringe.
Probably the strongest one so far. Really enjoy it. But I agree the solo is so meh it's insulting. They should have extended the song in order to have a more epic solo.
This is where is completely disagree.
"Times are dark enough already" - art is a reflection of the times. Music isn't supposed to make you happy. It isn't supposed to brighten your day. Music is art. It's supposed to make you think. Sometimes, it's dark, sometimes it's not. Times have always been dark. There was no period of humanity this couldn't be stated. You should listen to some doom metal. Makes this song feel like a walk in the park, in comparison.\
"Survivors don’t whine. They inspire and lead by example." - This is such a problematic phrase, I don't even know how to begin here. Survivors do whatever they want. They do whatever helps them move on. It's not about leading or giving example. It's about them, not the others. When you go through something horrible, you have all the right in the world to put yourself in first place, to think about your own well being. Music is the form of expression Axl and co, and so many other people, use to do this. It's therapy. Making music about traumatic events is nothing new, and it's completely viable.
Agree - it's horrible. Nothing else to say here. Trash.
So far, one of my favourites, along with Perhaps. Great track.
These songs were not written by the current line-up, and were mostly written by one or two members of the line-up from 20 years ago, and shown to Axl after it was almost finished, for him to record vocals. This is barely a product of teamwork and group songwriting. It reflects on the music. I agree, it would be great to have something that was actually done by a group of musicians working together in a studio.
So far, I'd say:
Great - Perhaps and Monsters
Good - The General
Weak - Hardskool
Horrible - Absurd
Agree with almost everything here........ However, never got the Shotgun Blues criticisms. When I cull the illusions to one disc it always features. Anyhow, loved your post.

Instead of going through 130+ pages I'd like to know as much info as possible on thee two tracks. Mainly if Slash & Duff played on either? If so I'm assuming the songs were recorded during Chinese Democracy sessions with vocals recorded during that era with Slash & Duff recently contributing; but that's just a guess. Any info you guys could offer is appreciated.
Yes
Yes
And now available on CD, no word about streaming, but yes, it's assumed.

Those who have the EU pressing say it is excellent
Yeap. Believe it's the most dynamic sounding version of the album available in any of the formats.

Maneskin released a deluxe edition of their latest album with 5 new songs.
The Driver is my favourite, and I saw them play it live a few weeks ago.
Sweet, don't mind them, I'll check it out tonight

Found it on CMRRA (Canadian music rights database). Note that it mentions mechanical licensing, which is for physical copies. This registration seems also to have been submitted from Axl's end (Black Frog) though, like the SESAC registration. The writing credits are the same as on SESAC.

My bet is on Monster being a separate song but bonus song. One more month to go and all will be revealed

Do we have any further info regards TGAM's is two songs, or one song together. Or if they are finished mixed/mastered songs?
Or do we need to wait until early December to answer these questions?
At first I didn't like TG, but it's growing on me. Monster is definitely a monster of a track imo. #excitingtimes4gnrfans

The CD vinyl in 2008 did, MP3s in 256Kbps, which is more than acceptable.
This would be the best scenario.

That's good to know, I read alot of fans on YouTube chastise the album with little explanation. And the production is very very poor. Really looking forward to remix/re-release now that iommi has the masters.
I'll check out the Headless Cross album after Eternal Idol, which is definitely growing on me. Thanks.
