Yeah I'm really looking forward to it. He took about ten years off making albums to work in the theatre and write musicals. But the last few years he's released four new studio albums. Two with guitarist Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music. Phil produced Split Enz album Second Thoughts in 76. One album under the band name ForENZics with Eddie Rayner the keys player from Split Enz. They came up with the idea of taking bits n pieces of early Enz riffs and building new songs around them. Most recently was a collaborative album with Andy White.

Yeah I'll try and take some videos n photos at the gig. But don't want to spend too much time on my phone and not take in the show itself.

That is so cool, didn't know that stuff and I'll have to check them out. Definitely the two records with Phil M. Have a great show and like how you want to remain in the moment which is important for truly experiencing a show, anything would be appreciated. Behind Judd, TF would be my fav Enz member.

Well I'm going to see Tim Finn live next week. So I'm listening to a mix of Split Enz, Crowded House, Finn Brothers and his solo stuff. He's 71 but has cranked out four new studio albums in the last coupla years. Always puts on a great live show too.

Enjoy...... Any of the Finn brothers are always a class act. So jealous. TF is such a talent. Get some footage and post here?

Sad times. It wouldn't shock me if the rest of the Aerosmith tour was scrapped, and with only a handful of GN'R shows left, and those all being TBD with Axl's situation....could be saying good night to 2 of the best rock & roll bands ever at the same time.

    What's axl's situation?

If it's true that it's getting a vinyl release and nothing else, the only way that makes sense to me is if it's the OG recording with the old line-up.

This would never be the case given the 3songs released have been hybrid versions.

Yet.... Theres a Christmas market to exploit and they'll get the double dippers too who bought the first one. What was the release schedule in 2021/22 again re the different Vinyls/CD's? Interested what came first and last....

Great question, hopefully it's the same this time and the CD single/ep will come afterwards?

I can't say this is definitive, but I generally worship at the altar of Sabotage. Ozzy era is king.

    1. The Writ
    2. Children of the Grave
    3. War Pigs
    4. Megalomania
    5. Under the Sun
    6. Hole in the Sky
    7. The Thrill of It All
    8. You Won't Change Me
    9. N.I.B.
    10. Symptom of the Universe

Great list, no BS list is complete without Children Of The Grave in it.

Don't like classic Sabbath, though I love solo Ozzy.

    1.Master Of Insanity

    2.Headless Cross

    3.Disturbing The Priest

    4.Ear In The Wall

    5.Computer God

    6.The Shining

    7.Cross Of Thorns

    8.Trashed

    9.After All The Dead

    10.Kill In The Spirit World

Unsure about your first statement..... However, given you have Trashed in your list, AND I LOVE Trashed... I'll check out the rest of your list as I'm unfamiliar with alot of post ozzy sabbath.

Wasn't it was taken off more recent setlists? I think there's actually a decent chance they don't play it live... from what we know, it's got lots of high raspy vocals. Axl would probably have to sing it similarly to the bridge part of Better, which was disastrous before the song was finally dropped.

If they released The General on its own, they'd be expected to play it live. But if it's a B-side that's released shortly after the tour ends, they'll still be able to release a good song (that hopefully matches the quality of TWAT, Prostitute, etc.) but Axl won't have to shred his voice trying to scream through it every night...

I hope I get to hear the song in Vancouver but I won't be surprised if they don't play it.

Didn't think about the vocal stress of doing it live. Good thought, and a possibility it won't be heard beforehand, if that's the reason it's released after tour ends.

Hope your wrong though, and the gnr machine whips into gear with new vid, shirt, & Live song before tour ends.

Haven't been this excited since LL's.

My guess is it'll be played live after it's dropped. I feel that the Perhaps thing showed us that's very much the m.o. as they could have played it yonks before it dropped if they wanted to. The streaming thing's an interesting question, the media outlets are saying October but that seems to be purely based on the vinyl release date so it could be any time really. My guess is they wouldn't want it too soon as Perhaps is still new. I do wonder if it will get some proper promo.

In terms of a shirt, I'd love one as given how many times The General's come up on here over the years, it'd be amazing! There were some Absurd ones put out so there's a chance.

Agree w/this. Good point on "wondering if it will get some proper promo" given the tour will wrap end Oct. Love the shirt enthuseum and hope it's similar to Perhaps shirt as in civil war 92'shirt with GnR and picture with skull 💀 general, that'll be awesome.
