Brain's drums on the disc with the three versions are fucking amazing, I wish they mixed Axl better on that disc.

Aside from Perhaps having two verses repeated, it's solid as is, IMO, I suppose that works for that song.

I sure as fuck hope they keep Brain's drums on Atlas, and with Perhaps, I assume they will use Brain's take instead of Josh's take. Unless Frank did drums for either. They mixed Brain's drums on Absurd far too low, IMO. It's painful listening the the 2008 album, then the two new singles and comparing the quality of mixing. The 2008 album being mixed pretty damn well, except for the bass IMO it needed 1-2 dB boost but aside from that it and the mastering was wonderful.

The entire CD 1-2 with no Bumblefoot (Bucket's parts restored) with Tommy's bass cranked up a bit, oh that would be the bee's knees!

This sums up my thoughts precisely. Loved album mixing/mastering, really quality and highlights the haphazard approach to recent 2 songs.

Atlas drums up 1.5 is simply stunning and perfect as is, so not looking forward to there eventual remix of it. Always thought that if the Hardschool VL version, had the same drum mix/ treatment it would sound better imo, although with saying this, it's still my fav version. Also, Perhaps is fine as is. Just needs to be mixed to 2008 standard Imo.

Higher than an actual album being released in my opinion.

It's pretty crazy that we've never had a proper leak of The General when you think about it. Especially considering all the Chinese Democracy material that's leaked over the years.

Those 2019 leaks were an incredible time to be a fan of GNR.

Hope your right, CD2 leaks could be better too. Axl was on form in those years, very melodic music. 2019, I was hanging on the forum day/night, brilliant memories

Possibilities in order of likelihood …

    1. an album is never formally released, but CDII castoffs trickle out as singles, as HS and Absurd did, with guitars and bass re-recorded by Slash and Duff. I reckon this is the most likely course of events.

    2. no album is released at all until Axl dies

    3. an album of CDII material is released with slash and duff re-recording and reworking the guitar/bass.

    4. CDII cast offs cease to be released and they start trickling out new music written by the band as they are now.

    5. as above, but a full album of brand new music is released.

on this scale, I think between 1 and 2 is likely. If we are to trust the band (which I don’t) 3 has a narrow chance of happening at some point, though I don’t think it will (personal opinion). Anything else, personally, I think is pure fantasy.

im aware some people will say regarding number 2, we know Perhaps is in the pipeline, and SOG and Atlas Shrugged are probably getting similar treatment… so nothing else ever again isn’t likely. But in terms of an album, I think it’s unlikely we’ll get one in the bands lifetime.

What's the liklihood of CD2 LEAKS?

My favourite of the demos is, by far, Going Down. Especially the version without Axl's over-the-top backing vocals. I wish Tommy had played that during the tours instead of Sonic Reducer or whatever he played during Axl's break.

Atlas and Perhaps could also be good songs if properly worked on. Perhaps really needs a better chorus dynamic. Too much going on vocal-wise. Gotta trade those fast vocal lines Axl shouts for a Slash guitar lick a la Estranged and keep only the "you're all alone now" line, between the guitar licks.

State of Grace has a good instrumental but that verse vocal line sucks ass. Since it's highly unlikely Axl will ever record new vocals for these tracks, I'd give the verses to Duff and leave Axl for the choruses, which are fine.

Quick Song needs a decent vocal line instead of the "ooh oohs". The instrumental is ok.

Oklahoma is a good instrumental that would become a good track if given a good vocal line and solo.

Devious Bastard has some potential, if worked on.

Soul Monster kinda sounds too "2000s" for it's own good. Those garageband-esque strings on the pre-chorus are really cheesy.

Zodiac sounds like it would have been a really awesome song played by the Axl/Bucket/Robin line-up. Man, it has Buckethead written all over it.

Anyways, I am grateful the Chairman shared this with us. Thanks, man. Whoever and wherever you are.

Didn't the Chairman say there were still more leaks to come?

I really like all the layers on the 2008 version. I think it’s a really well produced album, but that’s just me

I used to think that too and liked listening to the multiple layers of 2008 version, which has been expertly produced no doubt about it. However, lately I've been listening to the leaks, and although you can't hear all the layers, mildly more distorted, to me it sounds the way it was made to sound. However with saying that, the MSL Madagascar version has clarity with all the parts, and yet imo, some parts are fighting to be heard and sounds way too busy, but serves as an audio summation of the project when you tinker with something long enough. Anywho, my grail release would be CD boxset through out the years. Hope this makes sense.

Towards the end of this year Perhaps and maybe the general come out. The release is botched because the Cd's and records are ready 3 months after the songs go to streaming, Creative Works London videos go up on youtube for both songs. Slash has reworked solo's @Sweersa head exploads.

People tour with solo projects when GN'R is off the road, Axl hibernates like an owl & perhaps wakes up and sits at a piano to see if he can come up with something. After several months comes up with part of a bridge or intro that will probably never be used.

When solo projects finish touring Slash brings in 47 songs to play Axl of which he likes 3 or 4. Duff Brings in 28 songs and Axl likes 2. Those songs push anything Richard has like Tonto of the next reccord but he says nothing.

Slash buys a snakeskin covered metronome for Frank as a guesture of good will.

To tide over the fanbase Berlin is released along with Atlas Shrugged with Brian Mays parts removed and instead a solo made up of parts by Gary Sunshine, Buckethead, Paul Huge Robin Fink and John 5 is used. Slash cries in media about how he was not informed of Paul Huges involvement, Both songs are actually delayed for 2 years and 3 months as somebody forgets to pay Caram.

Slash get frustrated at the lack of progress and leaves. He goes on to state in the media "All things considered, it's like playing with Guns to stadiums is not fun in the grand scheme of things, so i'm just going to play clubs & it will like $2 per ticket" The media falls in love with him again because he seems more grounded to the common working class man. He then creates a pinball machine that retails for $34,000. The media ignore this.

    Traci Guns rejoins.

Ronnie wood has a baby with Melissa Reece.

    and so forth...

    that is so funny.

    I love Tonto

my own personal idea is that the Beavan final mixes and subsequent mastered album would sound very similar to other things Beavan worked at back then - namely Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals by Marilyn Manson - of course I have no proof for that saying, and the truth might have been completely different.

but it sounds plausible to me.

And that makes sense and very logically.....Which makes me want it even more as those albums sounded huge.

You can criticize Axl in these songs as much as you want, Slash  damaged all the solos like an amateur guitarist and without taste, not a word, right?

Fucking Slash can't play the solos he wrote himself!

He fries at every opportunity that comes along, the truth is Slash is not a shadow of his former self.

Play a solo from the bottom of the soul, something that Slash did like no one else, unfortunately it is in the past

I hear ya........ Someone needs to tell Axl, to tell Fernando, to call Buckethead.

Strike that. Now that I re-watched it, I realized that he wasn't answering to a question but brought the subject up himself. Kind of like the Duff quote - the writer of the German Classic Rock article emphasized on the fact that Duff casually dropped the "news soon" line.

Given the article got taken down, Can we deduce that the Perhaps single isn't happening?

And, do we have any evidence the State Of Grace song is ever coming?
