When you just take a moment to think about it, it's absolutely ludicrous. One song.

Rehearsed, ready to play, ready to release....yet nothing. For a whole tour.  It's sort of funny in some ways, but in other ways, just absolute madness how much thought and debate has gone on here and elsewhere about just one song.

If we all took a step back from our fandom and consider that, it's mind boggling.

I know right. Then once it's released, we'll all be saying.... Why is it so brickwalled and prefer the demo 😂

TWAT is absolutely one of the best songs Axl has ever done.

Definitely. TWAT, The Blues, Prostitute, Madagascar, This I Love, are all 21st centary November Rain's, if not better. Which is why the CD era is so amazing and underrated. If the general public had some of the leaked versions, the public perception of CD would be different.

good question but hard to answer.

I guess that the 4 Village Rough Mixes discs are mostly re-mixed Beavan tracks, basically Disc 1 is unmixed Beavan album and other discs are remaining tracks, but of course nobody knows the intended final tracklist back then.
but because these tracks have already been co-worked at by Beavan and RTB, it might be some kind of transition phase or whatever else combination.

the newer tracks are less likely to be Beavan.

on the other hand, the 3 tracks that leaked as "1999 demos" are almost certainly just another alternations of the Rough Mixes versions, just with slight differences or identical ones, so that maybe has Beavan touches on that too.

Thanks for that. And yes it is hard to say for certain and always wonder about the Beaven version of the album. I have listened to the later versions/official release of CD songs over the last few years as they are cleaner and you can hear more specific instruments..... But lately, I have complied the earliest sounding version of CD and have swapped out RM#1 versions for Josh versions and the Beaven TWAT which specifically has his name on, so definitely have 5 out of 10 songs. I kept the play list same as RM1 as it works, and runs better than the released version imo.

What's interesting is they sound better imo, dirtier/lowfi (I know it's unmixed) and has that minor industrial feeling. The mid 2000s Better/twat demo's are not supposed to be so clean as the official versions (although still enjoy official twat too) and sound better in demo form. I know this is going off topic, but wished Axl just released rest of CD versions, as is, as originally recorded and toured as solo artist with CD line up:bucket, finch, josh, Tommy. That Axl Rose circus would have definitely been a draw card for sure.

Anyway, thanks again for your info, I constantly refer to it.

I would say Fortus’s comment pretty much means we’re not getting new music this year.

Would agree with that. Yes he likes the tounge in cheek humour, but, Perhaps he knows there's no new songs coming, or, Perhaps he  knows as much as the janitor.

Anyway, hope they release OMG one day. Didn't they have it on the previous setlist years ago but never played it? Perhaps that could be the fate of the current new song being played during the warm ups?

Notes: The lithograph features the traditional 'bembel' - an earthenware jug synonymous with apfelwein ('apple wine', commonly referred to as cider) as well as Hessian culture and cuisine in general.

The composition is a reference to the design of the Misfits single 'Die Die My Darling', which in turn is a homage to the cover of issue #19 of 'Chamber of Chills' from 1953.

The lithograph features a glow in the dark effect.

I find this interesting, thanks for this. But why pay homage to the Misfits, are they from there? And silly question, is that the song Metallica covered? If so, were the misfits big/influencial, in general? Sorry to take convo off course, but loved the info.

I don't think releasing a new single will move the needle when it comes to selling tickets. The majority of those attending shows aren't interested in new music. Media won't make much fuzz about it. So I don't think that's the band's thinking. They will release it whenever Axl wants to release it for whatever cryptic reason. It could be released today, it could be released in a week, it could be released one week after the tour, it could be released in 2031. There is no rhyme or reason.

Based on his history of releasing music, I think your right.

What is the next step - some kind of release must be coming soon

-- Perhaps soundchecked, General on setlist

-- Band photos by Ross Halfin (both concert photos and at least "band photos" of Slash/Duff, may be a lot of photos not yet shown. lets hope a full band picture for some kind of release)

-- Studio time in Norway (both recording of Slash guitar tracks and listening to new mixes mentioned)

-- Axl looks motivated (for something!?)

Most likely scenario is Perhaps given the soundcheck. We won't get The General..... That's just wishful thinking, would love it though.

Like how MJ estate released the updated song along with the original on the deluxe edition of posthumous album Xscape. Wish GNR did that.

As an aside, thank god for those discs. It really helped give an understanding to the Chinese sessions and what they had by 2001. Imagine another set of discs from 2004 or so.

I'll try and hunt it down.

Yeah the leaks enabled me to create a 2001 album which was a grail for me. Another set of discs from later years would definitely enable the hardcore fan base reconcile the lost years. Albeit, highly unlikely, but never say never.

Hopefully they hit the Philly area.  Would love to see them again.

As for GnR I don't know what you expect, Axl really isn't interested in doing albums anymore.  I'm sure Slash and most of everyone in the band would love to but after the Chinese Democracy experience I doubt Axl would ever want to go thru that again.  Hopefully I'm wrong!  I think you just have to take it for what it is though.  At least there is some material we know of that will eventually come out.

Agree with this, think your spot on. I think I'm starting to realise that touring is Axls ONLY intention. And that CD was his swansong moment imo. Yes new CD era, frankinsteined, music is coming, but that's it. Thank God the locker leaks occurred.

Disagree on both points. Absurd is great. It's killer. And Riad destroys HS. Especially the 2001 mix RTB mix with the heavy as fuck Tommy bassline. Has to be that mix.

OK, I was gonna disagree with your Rhiad comment, in that, "especially the 2001 RTB mix" , I always listened to the Josh version w/laser beams sounds in verse, but I'll give the other one a spin. What disc/track are you referring to?

What from the list (or otherwise) would you like them to tackle on tour?

Ok, I've made a list of all the tracks from the discography (either former live regulars or never before heard studio tracks) that the reunion hasn't played live yet (to best of my knowledge - correct me if I'm wrong please)
I thought since the set list has been much more fluid this tour and like 4Tus and the band like to tell us "we make it up as we go along" 😁.... There hasn't been two shows exactly the same, with at least a "tour debut" each night...with it being the biggest show/most important tomorrow, I can't see that changing, so we could get some of the other soundchecked (maybe one of...) "Bad Apples", "Think About You", "Breakdown", "Dead Horse", "Perhaps" (or other new song to coincide with release after...)
What else has been soundchecked and not played in recent years?

(Not played live yet from discography...yes I know "My World" will never happen!)

    Sometimes a pause is welcome…

Someone needs to tell Axl to 'pause' this 6yr tour and write song, just one new song. If he needs inspiration, tell him to write about how much he loves the 2 glastinbury reviewers that dissed them.
