As for the consensus on the new songs? Sounds like exactly what you’d expect from them, but the mix is terrible.

Aside from the vocals there’s like a static/distorted wash over everything that just sounds terrible to my ears.

I couldn't put it into words, but your description is apt, and can't understand why he'd release this type of mix. Has the money and clout, but just seems below par. Last album of their's sounded good to my ears.

While Pele was annoying and was proved wrong a few times, I did start to worry when we heard Hard Skool and there were vocals cut and pasted from Eye on You in the middle eight. If they've gone to that effort to source some "hey heys", there really must be very little left vocally.

But how does this sit w/ there being CD2 rumoured to be finished?

Makes the most sense for the time, the general consensus amongst the hardcores here it’s Robin. Robin was also credited for the official Hard Skool. The other possibility is Paul Tobias.

Good point re:time, I just listened to it and thought ending was Bucket. Need to brush up on my timing/band members entrys/exits.

Thanks, didn't realise 2nd song was out and now 3rd song is out.

What's the consensus of new Foo song's? Are they low_fi? Don't seem to like them, but they'll probably grow on me. Are other foo fans struggling with new song's too?

I've always loved the early albums but lost interest after Nothing Left to Lose 1999.

    New single released. Nothing overwhelming.

Yeah definitely underwhelming first single. As first song's go, I'm more excited about the HIVES & QOTSA. now thats how you do it folks.

I was one of those that used to really think that.

I actually think that's genuinely a sad thing- that illusion being shattered. As a fan it's a tough one to come to terms with.

Yeah I agree. What I struggle with is, on one hand he did TWAT, MADAGASCAR, prostitute, this I love, & OMG, which are amazing in my books, aka gnr 2.0.....then, on the other hand, releases completely fucked up mixes of HS & Absurd.

There's more Oasis songs I like, these are just my favourite ones.

Off the top of my head from the first two albums I also like Rock 'n' Roll Star, Columbia, Supersonic, Roll With It, Don't Look Back in Anger, Cast No Shadow, She's Electric, Some Might Say, Morning Glory and Slide Away.

My man....... Now we're talking. In my younger days I thought they were one hit wonders until I went through their catalogue and learnt what a talented fucker Neol is. His talent reminds me of niel finn and the constant greatness throughout the years.
