Guns N'Roses formed in 1985. Let's say you time travel to 1985 when you see  Guns N'Roses, a huge superstar Band in the making. What would you warn them about? 😀 I would warn Steven Adler to not get addicted to drugs. 😀 What would you warn 1985 Guns N'Roses about if you time traveled to 1985? 😀🤔

I would warn Axl about procrastination AND don't reneg on any slash comments about "not in this lifetime". And that Buckethead is eternal, never lose faith in him.

Just give me The General with an epic Slash solo, and then I can die in peace.

I used to think this too, but without hearing it, the song becomes this mythical thing that wouldn't live up to the hype many forum members attribute to it. Like when AS was heard, which I love by the way, many forum members didn't rate it, but was touted as this amazing epic beforehand.

And wasn't monster elvis of soul touted as a vemionious postcard..... And even though we haven't heard it, people were curious and dying to hear it, when Adsurd was liked by axl, veminous in nature, and sucks big time. Think I've gone off track here

Obviously, it is instrumental so you get to hear what perhaps Axl heard when he started to develop the lyrics and vocal melody, and already in this early version, or even more so, it is a song that is fairly calm during what would be the verses and then monumental as the chorus part comes in with lots of power chords. This shift between verse and chorus is more pronounced in the instrumental.

Yeah I found the village leaks highlighting the fact CD should have come out years earlier than what it did. And some songs like CD, the blues, catcher, prostitute, sounding better than on the finished product

Not a big Godsmack fan, but I just read an article about how they’re next album is gonna b they’re last one & that they’re just gonna do greatest hits tours from here on out. A lot of stuff about how tired they are of the constant cycle of releasing music & how freeing it is to not be stuck in that anymore. Would love if GNR could muster that type of honesty. Would probably give a lot of their fans some sense of peace.

And a sense of closure that the band they once loved, is no longer interested in new music and the biggest nostalgic act. Which is cool for them, but I still hold this fantasy that we'll get an uncompressed cd 2 w/ Slash and Duff.

Long time no see fellas. Nice to see the old gang still keepin the forum active 👌🏼

Talked this morning briefly with one dude who sang on Spaghetti Incident and played harmonica on Use You Illusion in the bus and he said that Slash has been saving riffs for Guns already before recording of ”4”. Also he said that even though fans are ”WTF” with the new stuf - the band is not and they have a clear plan on how things are gonna roll. He compared the situation to AC/DC where Brian has lost so much of his voice (listen to the most recent feat. live performances he did) that it’s physically impossible to sound like he used to at his best era (in my opinion the 90’s when Rudd came back) and then compare what the did with the latest album where he sounds great. Axl has full capability in sounding like his old self short periods of time in the studio, but pulling of tours like this (with even the voice/tone he is pulling now) will be impossibility in the near (5yrs) future. That’s a good hint on what they are planning.

and salute to all my old buddies at the forum!

How much stock do we put on this, so a new album is coming?

I'll go through the registrations. We've both been busy recently and there's a backlog.

Don't let'em in if they like Harry Potter, as they start creating fan fiction and clogging things up with bullshit. We need the space for the upcoming album release.
