I said this in another thread but it got buried: however my point remains.
If you like or are a fan of any of these musicians, enjoy their solo projects during these time periods. This includes SMKC, Axl/DC, Walking Papers, Dizzy’s solo album (all 5 of you) and anything else. We will not be getting any new material from this band. Realize that it’s truly the solo albums or nothing from these people. Guns will not be releasing a new album in 2018. It will be radio silence in these upcoming months.

I wish Axl would just do more acoustic shows
That’s what everyone thinks. But when we would actually get a show like that you’d be able to hear Axl’s voice and issues with it magnified by 10 and the forum would be upset and considering it on the likes of Bridge School

Some of the guitars on CD?
There’s a good dozen layers of guitar tracks on that song and I’d imagine what she means by that is that she replicates one of the more prominent tracks with a beefy guitar esque keyboard tone to fill out the sound of that song.

For my band we have a basic set up of Singer (me), Guitarist, Bassist, and Drummer. As of a few months past our bassist has not really had a lot of interest in playing with us right now. He’s juggling a lot between a job and joining the military and can’t commit to our plans- no worries of course. To help our band move forward I’ve taken up duties on Bass and have been honest to god loving that more than I have for guitar (I have been playing for 3 years and lay down rythym tracks and riff around for our studio works). I don’t plan to play it live however- I plan for my bass contributions to be solely for studio and we would move forward with a touring bassist since as a frontman I’d like to be able to move around and devote my full attention to singing and interacting with the crowd.
I have found that my sudden interest in this instrument has reinvigorated my passion for writing and creating music and has brought me so much further into working with my lead guitarist and drummer than I have in the past. I never got that feeling as a rhythm guitarist. Has this ever happened to you with an instrument?

elaremicAnd also I am just interested (not in a bad way I totally support you and ur awesome ❤❤❤) but I am just making sure that I understand your part in GnR... so you make the special sound effects and so on??
Melissa: "I do many many many things 😝.... Sfx, synths / pads, samples, keys, orchestration, and of course sing background vocals 🤗.... What I do 80% of the time isn’t meant to be “featured” or stick out like a sore thumb - it’s to reinforce parts (by thickening with a different sound, playing in a diff octave etc.) or fill frequencies that are missing sonically but that need to be present for things so they translate better during the live show.... Sometimes even just reinforcing pitch/key is needed while everyone else plays parts that are present on the records... Other times, things I play *are* featured, u just might not know it’s me playing them 🤗 - like the moog lead line in Paradise, or the orchestration on This I love, Prostitute and Madagascar, or some of the guitar on Chi Dem (the list goes on).... Then I of course sing tons of BGs to support Axl’s vocal slaying 🔥⚡️🔥... Hope that gives some insight, and TY soooo much for ur kind words and support ❤️❤️❤️"
Can someone please sticky this so every time someone asks what Melissa does or why they can’t hear here we can just quote this? Kthnxbye

Can’t wait for the new Yoshi game next year. And Pokemon. But mainly Yoshi. Love me a good Yoshi platformer.

I wouldn't blame Richard that those promises turned out to be false. I would rather blame Axl or the label executives.
I’m not blaming him, but what I’m saying is that we simply cannot trust what the band members of Guns are saying in regards to new music, besides Axl- and even then you can’t fully trust his words regarding it.

What others have said. Richard has been promising new music for almost every year since he joined Guns. Yet how many records have we got since “Round 1” started circa 1997?

Well he was Axl's original and preferred drummer for Nu Guns and Axl wanted Brain to basically play Freese's work note for note. Freese to me is the DNA of Chinese Democracy's drumming, even if Brain's playing and adding his own flair to it.
Very good point. It sucks his original drumming has pretty much been buried by Frank and Brain since but that is correct that Freese led the way for them in terms of Chinese. In terms of actual drumming, I feel like each got progressively worse- Freese was the best, Brain was slightly under Brain, and then Frank is just...eh.

This all but confirms new material.
Not disagreeing but what stands out to you in the blurb that says that? I didn’t get that vibe.

I just wish he chose songs that work better with his voice, like Bad Obsession and You Ain’t The First rather than have songs like You Could Be Mine still being played with a weak Axl. I understand why he sings the way he does but it still is rough to listen to.

I think it"s funny that Freese gets so much praise from GN'R fans even though he only really plays on one song.
I agree. I barley even consider Freese a member to be honest, like yes he counts but at the same time really doesn’t since he was barely on any actual material and played zero live shows.

Please let it just be this and DJ is just being a fuckin troll. Gotta be just that, doesn’t it?
Either that or a desperate ploy for some kind of publicity. Not a coincidence he posted it right after one of the biggest tours of a band he used to be part in ended. Say what you want about him but he’s a smart man in terms of marketing and publicity.

I think (or hope) DJ is just talking about his career and not being with Guns.

To be fair, he sounded pretty good on Better. What's the weird thing he does now on "now I know you better, now we all know better"? He's changed the way he sings it and it sounds... odd. Anyone else notice this?
I think it sounds awesome. It’s reminiscent of his Down on the Farm voice and is straight up badass.

I can tell that Brain was frequently off tempo in 2002 and had a shitty sounding set that sounded tinny and too tight. I don't get any of the complaints about Frank.
To me Frank’s drum set is on a weird tone and he chooses to play some of the songs differently than the way they were recorded such as Estranged, Brownstone, Rocket Queen, etc. That being said I don’t hate the guy as a drummer and I don’t knock anyone for preferring him but I personally don’t think he’s the best fit for the band and wish someone would take his spot.

It’s hard not to tell if Frank is drumming unfortunately.

My opinion is Axl doesn’t really know what to do with the remix album. It wouldn’t fit under the genre of Guns N’ Roses and wouldn’t really make sense as an Axl Rose solo album either. I’m not sure a majority of fans are dying to hear remixed CD songs, including me, either so I’m not sure where this project may go. In that sense I’m glad Brain’s work is able to get some form of recognition by being played live.

Oh, a random dude at a gym doesn't like TIL when he's hearing it randomly for the first time ever while he's working out?
Look, I know that a lot of people don't like CD but that example is just humorous to me.
Of course they’re not going to want to work out with that song! It’s a great song but the furthest thing I’d want to hear while lifting weights

I just finished Sorry and I thought overal it was good. I’m trying to figure out what parts of the song are axl v pre recorded from the 5 min mark on though.
The ones that have rasp and sound good are pre-recorded.

It's a really hard choice but for me I have to pick the forum show. In 2009 I didn't really like all the band members solo spots and there were so many of those and jams that I feel it dragged down the quality of the show. I'd rather hear Slash's godfather solo, the KOHD and Rocket Queen jams rather than a Tommy Stinson song or a DJ Ashba solo spot with a bunch of average jams. I do agree with the arguments about Axl's voice but I still have to go with the LA show as Axl still sounded pretty damn good on 75% of the setlist. With the -'09 show you're missing songs from the '17 show such as Estranged, Civil War, Double Talking, and Coma.
It's definitely a hard decision. As a major fan of Chinese I do understand that they played 13 of the songs vs. 8 of the songs at the LA show but I still have to choose the LA show.

I hope Melissa is on Dizzy’s album and they have an epic piano duel battle going back and forth.
In replacement of interviews or press releases, do you see Axl, Slash, or Duff writing a book talking about the NITL tour?

Axl's apparently in the process of writing an autobiography, although I can see that going the way of Chinese Democracy if it's even remembered ever again at all.
