I have been an Ashba fan since the Beautiful Creatures days and the new music is absolutely horrible! Not sure who is into EDM but at this point in 2021 it has no place! Maybe in like 2010 lol!
Maybe his wife is into it

Oh ok. That sounds kind of annoying tbh, like hurry up and get on stage.
What did you think?
That was probably Don Jamieson from That Metal Show. These 80s metal guys have him open shoes with his comedy bit.

Has anyone seen Beta's IG story about the donuts she got and the "joke" about Axl
Ik that it's sad that something like that can drag anyone's interest (me)
This band... however it was funny, it reminded me about the fat memes back in the day
Anyone know the name of that Donut shop? It’s really famous. It’s a stop on everyone’s trip to Portland.
edit: never mind just listened to Beta. it’s Voodoo Doughnuts👍

I would have been happy with that, then CD3 in 2012.
My ideal alt reality would be CD1 in 1999, CD2 in 2004 with Buckethead, CD3 with Bumblefoot and DJ Ashba sometime after, then an actual new album with NITL.
My ideal would’ve been CD 1,2&3 between
99-04, maybe stretched out to early 06 pre-Bumble

Yeah, musically, the vocals are honestly the worst part. They’re a weird mix of cringe and infuriating that make me want to punch a wall.
Sorry that’s not what I meant. It’s not the vocals that bother me. I’m embarrassed for James for lending himself to this Uber shit song from DJ

I have a hard time with Fortus in the band with his showboating etc, no way I could've been ok with DJ.
Lmao all that showboating from Richard. Then you watch footage of his solos and it’s all for naught. The guy recording never moved his camera off Slash strumming the same chord for 2mins😂

My take is Rob left because of the unknown/financially unstable Hell Tour. Tracking left because he wanted to keep doing the LA Metal scene. Can’t blame him. Those LA musicians were all trying to be the next Van Halen, Motley, Ratt. They idolized and had grandiose visions of running the scene themselves. Factor in the unknown Hell Tour and it wasn’t worth his while giving up on his dreams.
it’s gotta annoy Tracii that the story got misconstrued and he’s been lumped in with Robs reasons

There were giving out free tickets for this one, too?

Some quick comments after attending in the pit:
First of all, Axl sounds better when you are there because, at least where I was standing, his vocals get overpowered in the mix especially on songs with heavy guitar. If I really paid attention, I could obviously hear the issues. My wife, who is a very casual fan, commented that he didn't sound too good on NR.
Absurd is a fun song live. It's not a great song by any stretch and the lyrics are like they were written by a 12 year old but the crowd seemed to enjoy it for the most part. Maybe Axl will realize he has fun doing new songs that he hasn't performed 1000 times already and this will lead to some more new music and/or setlist changeups. I'm pretty sure in the intro to Absurd Axl said it was a "new" song and that led to the joke about even them being shocked.
My wife commented on how good of a guitar player Richard is. She has a musical background so I found it interesting that she noticed.
The band (Axl especially) really seems to be enjoying performing. I wish somebody could record whatever Axl says on the IEM channel. He seemed to be joking around with Duff a bunch.
I don't remember which song it was (RQ maybe) but Axl tripped walking backwards on the mic stand and almost fell on his ass. Impressively, he held the note while catching his balance.
I know it's the "GNR thing" but, especially when the opener gets cancelled, they need to try and get on stage a little sooner. Dizzy was wandering around back and side stage for over 20 minutes before they came on. I could see Richard through the bottom of the stage go up the stairs a good 10 minutes before they came out. Did Axl fly in just before the show or something? I've been to 4 shows in my life (Miami '91, Orlando '16, Miami '17 and Missoula '21) and the one they were pretty much on time for was Miami '91. It was New Year's Eve and they did the countdown during PC so I guess Axl wanted to time it so it worked out?
Why was Frank wearing a mask for the bow?
My wife recorded DTJ, WTTJ, Estranged (missing a few seconds at the beginning), Civil War and SCOM. I'll try and put them on YT later but my internet upload speed is slow out where I am currently.
Pretty sure they were stalling to come on. As they were giving out free tickets. Scrambling to get those empty seats somewhat filled

These guys are on fucking fire... The loss of the click tracks and pyro along with the better tempos has brought back some of the looseness that made this band so great.. Even Axl seems to have gained some of his swagger back.. My traveling is a bit limited at the moment due to a really old dog but I would definitely love to travel and see these guys in this form..
I’m thinking of hittin up Baltimore show 9/26Sunday from NJ

He’s straining/yelling through his throat to achieve that rasp, songs like its so easy/absurd however, he’s projecting from his diaphragm and not distorting his voice with his throat.
Exactly right. Nor is he using his upper pallet. He should be filling his diaphragm with air and singing like he has a whole apple in his mouth to lift the upper pallet and then distort his voice for rasp. That is how he used to sing.
He should easily be able to sing that way with less effort and get similar projection. He really should be working with the right vocal coach

Hey Fernando would you consider going on the Appetite for Distortion Podcast with Brando. He honestly respects his guest and would be willing to chat about anything. You set the parameters and he will respect them. Anything, doesn’t even need to be gnr related. Could be about your life whatever
