  1. Russell Brand was annoying. You don't have to yell into a mic the whole night. Jokes and funny observations can be done well when not shouted, too, Russell.

Kanye's a jackass, and that comes from someone who likes him. They should've played Hate right after, and showed how much of an abortion it is to all the celebrities sitting there. Even Taylor Swift would facepalm at that atrocious "song."

  2. Endgame has some really, really cheesy moments lyrically. But musically, it's better than United Abominations in my opinion. I think Death Magnetic is a really good metallica record. It's not 80's metallica, but it's way better than the crap they've been putting out since after 1988's ...And justice for all. Since Dave mustaine never really made that shitty of a record, aside from "Risk", I'm going to have to give to it Metallica on this one. Just because they managed to make a decent record after all these years. I'm proud of them. On the other hand, it doesn't surprise me much that Dave Mustaine can still rock out. He'll get my vote on his next record, because overall, I do like Megadeth more than I like metallica. The only Metallica albums that really matter are Kill Em' All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets. And those all have stuff written by Dave, which may have a little bit to do with why those albums kick ass. I know this is completely off topic, but metallica's "Fight Fire with Fire" is one of the best thrash songs of all time.

Dave didn't write anything for Master of Puppets and wrote only a few riffs/solos for KEA and RTL. Considering Puppets is considered one of Metallica's best, I think they deserve that title all on their own.

Plus, they didn't even use Dave's solos on any of the records.

Writing credits do not equal major input sometimes.

  3. Doesn't sound quite right when Americans try to sing it... ends up sounding like a poorly imitated English accent.

Wasn't awful though. Certainly not vomit inducing.

Not just that...its all very umm...i dunno, i always thought of The Clash as anti-establishment? These are the guys that chose to forgo royalties so they could sell double and triple albums at cut prices for the man on the street. These are the guys who sang about...not being a part of this corporate crap. There is the argument i suppose about how thats what they became in the end but its also the reason (or partly the reason) that they couldn't carry on. I mean, they pretty much broke up when they made it big. There is a message in that.

You are probably one of the dumbest posters I've seen on this forum. If a band can't enjoy making music even after they've reached a massive audience, then they are pathetic. I don't know much about The Clash, but if they broke up because they reached a wider fanbase, then that's disgusting. Making music is about making music, not about who enjoys it.

  4. love how yall are mad at the beatmaker for sampling zeppelin when zeppelin stole most of their music from other artists in the first place.

song is aight. still one of the south's best rappers, even if that isn't saying much anymore.

Zeppelin's best material came after their first two albums anyways. This just fails.

  5. dirtylenny, you are an idiot. So people who don't play GH have a better chance of writing a Sgt. Pepper's? Yeah, I'm sure everyone who plays a real guitar is sitting on the next Sgt. Pepper's. That makes tons of sense.

Don't you ever think that maybe people find the guitar sound in GH to be so cool that they want to achieve that sound on a real guitar? Even if they don't pick up a real guitar, then who gives a shit? You're worried about GH perverting a desire to learn guitar but you can't even prove to me that it deters anyone. Thus, your point falls flat.

  6. Thats fuckin weak. And whats the all the fucking cupcakes on this thread? Noel is a better song writer than Axl... See Chinese Democracy. Some of the lyrics on c.d. are so juvenille and...not up to par with the rest of the gnr catalog...

Maybe in your opinion. I see Oasis a very average 90's band, to be honest.

At least I agree with you here. "Very average" is being polite.

  7. Okay, pay what you want. Either way, they're purposely releasing music for free. I don't see where I'm "making fun of the record". I disliked it because it was one of the most boring albums I've ever experienced. I didn't say Thom Yorke sounded like a goat or something. You're not even insulting something properly.

I don't have to "get" anything. I have OK Computer, and it has some really good songs, but it isn't the masterpiece that everyone says it is. So, after buying that record, I was looking forward to hearing something else from them, and checked out In Rainbows. It was disappointing beyond belief. 'Nude' is the only good song on the album. The rest is a snoozefest.

I don't understand what I have to "get" about it. It put me to sleep waiting for something to happen in the songs. I feel bad that you people had to pay for it then. From a band that has released albums like Kid A, OK Computer, Hail to the Thief, and other acclaimed albums, it fell flat on its face.

Maybe I don't get it, but I don't want to either. Something needs to happen in a song for it to be something special and awakening. In Rainbows had none of that. I mean, it's great for putting someone into a coma, but maybe that's what you want.

I'm not trying to bash your music tastes, but the album sucked. If that offends you, then welcome to the wonderful world of opinions. I was expecting a good album from In Rainbows, and it turned out to really bore me to tears.

  9. In Rainbows was such a horrid bore, so they better keep putting out music for free.

In Rainbows is far cooler than you'll ever be. Accept it.

EDIT: And ER, that whole Wall of Ice EP thing turned out to be a hoax. It was just the song getting released. Jonny said that they have some other songs recorded, in various stages of completion, so I bet we can expect some more music relatively soon.

Sorry, but no. One of the most boring albums ever. That's why it was released for free, because it sucked.

  10. It

Wow, that sounds horrible. Maybe it'll sound better in the middle of a song or something, but as a "teaser", it sure underwhelms to a substantial degree.

How is that Horrible? Second I heard it I joined the TCV message board

Good for you? I just don't like it at all. How you can get all giddy like that from hearing 14 seconds of music is a bit odd. I mean, for a teaser you expect some great music that excites you, I left feeling very underwhelm, and it was a horrible teaser, in my opinion.

Using your logic, how can you be so underwhelmed by 14 seconds of music? So, people can't be happy about a sample but you can hate it? Yeah, that makes sense.

  11. I don't think this song is a Queen ripoff or anything. I mean, it's nice to have a song that's lovely, but there's a difference between a lovely song, and one that sounds like it's going to buy you flowers. Unfortunately, this is the latter.
