  1. Yeah but Heaven and Hell is a separate band due to the name.

I know. I'm just saying that Ozzy's listing as 1997-Present is misleading.

Ozzy has played with Sabbath recently at Ozzfest, but that's it. It's never been a full-on reunion.

  2. i was watching 'love lockdown' and i was like 'wtf is this...does he tihkn its good'

then the next day saw him getting bashed for it. which made me feel better, i wasnt the only one who thought it was terrible.

did not watch the 2nd performance based on the first haha.

But they're talking about the second performance.

Besides, 'Heartless' is definitely the better song anyways.

  3. Some of you are truly far more pathetic than even I imagined. Stop trying to kiss up to Axl or back peddle on things you said because you have this deep-rooted insecurity about everything. Can some of you show some fucking balls and just live with the things you said and stop attacking others because they do no agree with Axl's perception of the world and himself. The question may not rest in whether Axl is being truthful or not, but his perception of what these truth's are. For God's sake we are talking about a fucking rock band, we are not curing cancer. I will admit that I was next to astonished that someone whose words and music has taken me through most of my life actually came on to this forum and chatted with us like a fucking human being, ego aside. But at the same time he has only shown me what I already knew: he is imperfect like all of us, he can be hypocritical at times, just like all of us, and he has his own set of values and ideals, just like any of us here. I am certain Axl is not happy about everything he has done and said in his life, just as any of us aren't and maybe at times Axl did not appreciate the extent of those implications nor did he understand them. So W.A.R is a fucking human being, now we all know....

I love this complex you have.

The whole "voice of reason" thing you have going on, not really working out.

I will not advocate the whole false worship of celebrities thing, but come on, for real. Take a look at this 4,500 word manifestation of 15 years worth of behind the scene action.

Any sane person understands that a celebrity is imperfect, but to come out like this and just give us a pure and raw manifestation (biased perhaps, but shouldn't come as a shock) of everything. That's something.

    No denying it, compadre.

Let people kiss his ass, does it matter? Will you lose sleep over it? No. Chill, calm down, and let your voice of reason dictate your own actions, not those of people who couldn't give a shit about you.

Enough with your pseudo intellectual babble, I do not like forum members being disrespected by other forum members because they did not bask in the glow of Axl Rose. I am hardly trying to be a voice of fucking reason, I have waited this long to post something on this topic after reading through pages of bullshit and insults by those cannot stick to their guns. Period, there is no agenda here other than hoping these verbal assaults just stop. I think you are being a bit hypocritical too aren't you a$$hole?

You don't have to "bask in the glow" at all. The fact was that Axl posted a massive response to fans and your response was, "Get over yourself."

    You just don't get it.

  4. No offense, but Axl sounds bitter as fuck. Especially about Slash. We're supposed to believe that everything that has happened is someone else's fault and EVERYTHING we've been told about him are all lies.

I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

People love sayin' that middle trip. Easy to say but not so easy to prove.

Unfortunately it's not in the middle and I can back up every last line in my bit or I wouldn't be here.

You love his work and whatever else. More power to you!

And no, I'm not bitter at least in the sense of how you used it conveys. Felt good gettin' some of that off my chest and as I said that's just the tip.

If that's your honest impression it's definitely not rose colored lenses you're wearing. And I looked up the definition of bitter once in a pocket dictionary and got "having anger at something unjust or evil". I'm not angry but when I am with this particular someone who I thought was once my friend... the definition fits.

Thanks for the great read, Axl. I haven't been able to see you on the various mediums for the past couple nights, so I'm happy to say thanks and happy to read that this is just the tip...

I think this is something that fans on any side of the spectrum needed. I'm sure everyone appreciates it.

As others have said, it is nice to see a lot of passion being put forth into music and writing. I think passion is key, and I think it's another reason why Chinese Democracy is the "hard-rock/beautiful" piece of music that it is.

    Thanks again, Axl.

  5. It's funny you post this now, since only yesterday I decided to watch a bunch of their songs on You Tube. They've got some pretty cool tunes and I always dug Holland's voice and delivery. Hit That was one of the songs I liked most and it's got a great video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J5TPXUrj-0

I'll be picking up their Greatest Hits dual disc soon. By the way, what would you guys say is their best album?

Smash is their biggest.I would start with Ignition and work your way forward.I love them all though. Ixnay On The Hombre is great. Hell, get em all but I would start with Ignition.

This. Ignition is an amazing punk record. They just remastered it, but I love the old sound of it. That's me, though. After that, I'd just go in order and get Smash, then Ixnay, then Americana, and so on.

My personal favourite is Ignition, followed by Ixnay On The Hombre. Great punk albums.

  6. Splinter is underrated. I'd say it's a serious song with a commentary. The Offspring do a lot of songs like that, where they sound goofy, but are very serious. There's one on their newest album called Nothingtown. It sounds very happy, but the lyrics are fairly unhappy.

Holland's always been good at doing that kinda thing.

  7. Metallica - Death Magnetic

    The Fireman - Electric Arguments

    Seal - Soul

    Judas Priest - Nostradamus

The Offspring - Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace

    Todd Rundgren - Arena

Still hoping CD tops the list as far as favourites go this year. I'm thinking next year will be a lot better:

    Down

    Queensrÿche

    Rush (maybe)

    Iron Maiden (maybe)

    Heaven & Hell

    Kreator

    Alice in Chains

    Nightwish

    Michael Jackson

    That list will grow.

  8. hooray! anyone else think the singles will be randomly pulled out of a fans ass from junk science deductions based on a complete lack of knowledge of the music industry, radio, and what the controlling hands of the album think? next time you get an urge to start a thread, head to the bathroom instead.

Lack of knowledge vs. Senseless insults

    Which one is actually better?

He clearly said he was just basing it off what we've seen so far. Not to mention the fact that he was just asking what other people thought.

I think apes would reply more intelligently to most of these threads sometimes.

  9. I have seen commercials for the album pop up on TV.

I was watching The Trailer Park Boys and saw the commercial.

It's nothing over the top all it is the screen is black u see the words

    "The Wait is Over"

fallowed by the new GNR logo and then underneath that u see Chinese Democracy available everywhere November 23rd

All this is going on during the intro of the title track

I've yet to see it here.

I saw it on Showcase here in Canada no word of a lie during every commercial break

Really? I've been watching TPB lately and I haven't seen any commercials. Maybe I keep missing them.

  10. I was obsessed with DoD when it first came out. Didn't leave my cd player for 3 weeks straight, which was rare for me. If the production was a little better, then it would be a modern classic for me, but it's kinda loud. But, it has Paschendale, so I'm good with it being a little loud at times :D

I'd pretty much go with the other suggestions on here as far as Maiden goes. I mean, if you like more Holy Smoke/Can I Play With Madness?-type songs, then their older stuff won't be as appealing because it's less rocky. But, you have to check out Seventh Son of a Seventh Son's other cuts. If you don't, you're just cutting yourself off at the knees.

  11. The Unforgiven was one of the songs that got me interested in music, so I don't mind this album at all. Not their best, but definitely not horrible either.

Same for me. The Unforgiven really opened my eyes to metal and other types of music. It just has that feel to it.
