  1. 11 songs that should be on that list:

    1. Frantic

    2. St. Anger

    3. Some Kind of Monster

    4. Dirty Window

    5. Invisible Kid

    6. My World

    7. Shoot Me Again

    8. Sweet Amber

    9. The Unnamed Feeling

    10. Purify

    11. All Within My Hands

    There are much worse songs.

  2. Lil' Wayne is annoying, even by rap standards. I still can't comprehend him being "the next best thing" when rap artists like Nas are still putting out quality material.

  3. Billy Joel proved he could outlast his 70s appeal and produced great albums in the 80s and even 90s. Not to mention his classical compositions, which shit all over Elton John.

Elton was great in the 70s, and then fizzed out, and only became bigger again because of the lamest soundtrack songs that had to tickle heart strings.

Besides, there's a reason that Billy Joel's greatest hits are still in the Top 10 best-selling albums of all-time.

  4. Love it. The only really mediocre song is Fix You. The rest make the album quite interesting. Stuff Is Messed Up is awesome.

I know, Fix you sounds exactly like green day's "when september ends", I seriously can't believe they'd even put that up.

Well, the song gets better as it goes on, but it's just such a disappointment after two slower (and better) songs, aka Kristy and A Lot Like Me.

A Lot Like Me is insanely good.

  5. Billy Joel, by far. Elton John is an artist whose hits are played so much that they get annoying. I'm so tired of hearing Rocket Man or Saturday Night. I just find him so weak as an artist sometimes. Almost overrated.

Besides, Elton vs. Billy aside, Billy Joel still has one of the best albums of all-time: The Stranger. One of the finest albums ever crafted by a human being.

    Los Angelenos ftw.

  6. Iron Maiden are what a metal band should be. They continuously craft great albums and are still one of the tightest live acts you could ever see, which is insane for a band that plays their tunes at their age.

  7. This topic is pretty dull, and Axl is insanely good with songwriting, but Judas Priest have so many masterpieces of metal, it's ridiculous:

    Screaming for Vengeance

    Stained Class

    Defenders of the Faith

    British Steel

    Painkiller

In fact, their only stinkers were Turbo and the albums without Halford. The rest are very well done and I have a feeling that Nostradamus will be another great effort.

  8. I love Hetfield's voice since Load, it's really awesome. I reckon this album will remind people of ReLoad, but heaps heavier and less bluesy-rock (as kickass as ReLoad was).

The songs sound great and that whole website is a good idea.

Good. Some Load praise. I prefer Load personally. I find it to be a stronger album overall. Either way, I agree about Hetfield's vocals on both albums. Very strong work by him, and I prefer those vocals to any other Metallica release. Very aggressive, especially after he blew his voice.

  9. It certainly has moments that are decent. I like the riffs, but the songs are too long, so they kinda lose their momentum.

That's one problem with this album that no other Metallica album has had, and that's momentum. Each past album has had songs with their own momentum that allowed you to really enjoy each song over and over. The songs on St. Anger get repetitive too fast. It's unfortunate.

Good ideas, but tough to listen to.

  10. Honestly, I'm not huge into recommending rap albums because I can never tell which ones are hip-hop or which ones are rap, but here goes:

Will Smith - Lost and Found

    Jay-Z - The Blueprint

    Jay-Z - The Black Album

    Dalek - Abandoned Language

Nas - Hip Hop is Dead

Really, anything by Saul Williams. Nas has some awesome albums and so does Dalek. Different styles, but you'll probably get used to them.

  11. Didn't even know that he was out touring recently. He's an artist that I always enjoyed a bunch of songs from but now I am digging a little deeper. If he comes this way again I'll definitely check out a gig. Nice to know he puts on a good show. I'll have to watch some of those You Tube concert vids.

He's been touring to play more album-driven songs, instead of just the hits. I was surprised when my mom told me he was coming to my town last year. He's still out on this tour, but I think it's winding down. Apparently he keeps writing music, but I doubt we'll see another album from him, unfortunately.

  12. One of my all-time favourite artists. I saw him a year ago and it was the most spectacular show I've ever seen. I see they're re-releasing The Stranger into a limited edition, remastered by Phil Ramone. I want to check that out.

Listening to 52nd Street last night made me realize that his albums are incredibly special and capture a lot of feeling.

  13. i think it was released to prove a point to a certain someone...

And with about 80% of the songs being total shit, it ironically proves the exact opposite

Truth. Let's face it, CD is taking its time and could be a shitty record for all we know, but spewing out song after song with the majority of them being trash isn't exactly a redeeming quality for a band.

There's just nothing to this. It's strange. People want new music, but getting so much at once is really not helping either. YZ and Ghosts were steps in the right direction, but to have another new album so fast with these kinds of songs? Blah, I'd rather see Trent take a break.
