I liked the album at first, but I find it's getting worse and worse with each listen which is what I was afraid of. It just doesn't sound fresh after a while.
Know Your Enemy has to be one of the worst songs to ever be released to radio. 21 Guns makes me gag after two listens. Before the Lobotomy is an absolute stinker.
Songs like Murder City and Restless Heart Syndrome save this album from being a rotten turd, which is unfortunate.

Bad Apples is the most annoying GNR song out there.
-
Down. They sounded like metal beasts at Download.
-
Song wasn't anything special imo.
Not a good sign when it's the 1st single.
Isn't that a good sign that an album has a shitty song as the first single?

I actually didn't mind these songs at first. Restless Heart Syndrome and American Eulogy aren't too bad, but I've found myself liking these new songs less and less as I hear them more.
Maybe it's because every single song has to have some acoustic sob introduction and then the electric guitars have to come in at some point. As someone said above, hearing Boulevard of Broken Dreams so many times makes you hear that song in every sappy song Green Day makes from that point and on. It's not like Time of Your Life where it's unique and still holds up today as a really great acoustic song. Now, it's just like these songs have to have acoustics to sound sincere and they flop.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of these songs and I'll still listen to the album, but why can't any of these songs have balls? Something to get you pumped a little at least. Instead, they're just sappy and unmemorable. It's unfortunate.

That song was pretty damn shitty.
This.
No, that song was fucking awesome. Eminem ftw.. Fuck all this wannabe gangster rap, Eminem = King of Rap.
No, I'm sorry. That song was brutal. I'm sure there will be better songs as Eminem usually puts out the shittiest song first.
Pretty cool album cover, though.

I think the songs fucking awesome.
If you're looking to hear more of the album there's loads of small live clips from the songs.

Okay, now these sound pretty good for the most part. This is the kinda stuff I wanted to hear.

Meh. Decent song, but the chorus is annoying. Weak lyrics too. At least American Idiot (the single) had punchy lyrics and came out of left field. This is kind of a throwaway song.

The song is garbage.

Thriller. That's all you need to know.
Even Michael Jackson's B-Sides own most of Prince's albums.

Let's be honest here, a band who truly thinks they're good but really suck arse: Oasis.
-
Todd Rundgren > all

The Czar and Oblivion by themselves make this album a candidate for album of the year.
Oh, and the reason they're experimenting is because they already have their next album written, and it's supposed to be more like Blood Mountain in style. Plus, there's one member of the band (I can't remember who), who doesn't like metal all that much, so it's not like they're trying to dumb down the metal. They're just taking it somewhere else.

Terrible album cover, but I'm still looking forward to it.

I've only heard the single, but it blew.

Mastodon - Crack the Skye
Queensrÿche - American Soldier
Megadeth - TBA
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - TBA
Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3
Heaven and Hell - TBA
Maybe:
Van Halen (Heard they were working on something)
Iron Maiden (I doubt this will happen, but who knows?)
Rush (They have a concept for their next album, but haven't started anything)
Michael Jackson (He's been working on one for a bit now)
Down (They said they had 6 songs recorded already, but they take forever to record)

WTF..

It was live in 1992, Bruce doing some Axl Rose moves onstage.
Mmmm, you appear to be talking shite.
Also you appear to have gone very quiet regarding you original assertion.
P.S. Oasis are a joke, not a band, just Noel (who has talent, songwriting-wise) and his talentless brother and a bunch of side-men.
Beegnikos
I hope people adopt this point of view.

Even Band on the Run is better than the Rolling Stones, and it's not even a Beatles album.

Kid A and OK Computer are good albums, but the rest are just not that great. In Rainbows was infinitely disappointing. I don't doubt their songwriting talent, but a lot of it is like listening to a spaced-out auctioneer. That's not good.

No U2 Album On The Horizon would be better news.
This.

The Prophet's Song by Queen. I love the song until it gets near the end and many parts are repeated over and over. It's an 8-minute song and most of it is so good, but that part always makes me change it.

Very good record. They're heading into the studio in the fall to record Down IV.
