  1. For those who blindly support the new band: GOOD FOR YOU. But please be aware: GNR is one of the biggest band because of the music that Izzy(mostly), Axl and Slash wrote (Duff had a minor part except the main riff of PC). So if Slash, Izzy or anyone of them decided to leave at one point its their right; because its their band. And if they reach some kind of agreement among them now, its a normal thing, because again: ITS THEIR BAND.So with all the respect to anyone who MIGHT be in the band right now, they are not (and I think they are aware of it) and never will be truly associated to GNR.

I just have few questions for you die-hard new GNR fans:

    1. What exactly are you fans of: those 4,5 new songs, did those convert you in to being such a big fan

    2. Are you fans of Axl and only Axl and no one else

    3. Do you like the soundboards of 02 shows so much (than again they played mostly AFD-songs and 3 new ones)

    4. Do you like the way the band played the old songs (i agree they are technically better musicians), but than again I like NIN, but wouldnt care if Reznors song were sung by some greater-better singer who would put much less emotions in it.

So Richard might be a great guy, musician and all, BUT PLEASE BE AWARE HE IS A STUDIO RECORDING/TOURING MUSICIAN, THATS WHY YOU CANT COMPARE HIM TO IZZY OR SLASH WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT GUNS N ROSES FOR GODSSAKE!

And when you talk about living in the past, why dont you come in the present time, find some new band that you like because if you only like this new version of GNR(by the amount of posts some make here every day it truly seems that way) :rofl-lol: , you my friends are really the sad ones.

 Fuck sakes. This forum is turning into a place where you can't say anything about the new band without hearing several tards criticize your decision to like the new band. A forum where no one can think or do something on their own, just because some one ELSE doesn't like it. If someone posts intelligently about how they enjoy listening to the new band, an 8-page thread will be unleashed with people who must ask them why or if they are truly sad because they've "chosen" the new band over the old, when really, they never even mention that.

Now, we have threads directed at certain people, such as A_D, and you all take your time at poking at this person because they've moved on? Have they annoyed you? Then don't listen. No one should be forcing anyone or trying to "encourage" them that they have the wrong band in their minds. That's ridiculous. If someone says that this band has great potential, a handful of people are just waiting to squeeze their throats and say "Oh, but mister, they aren't the old band." Please. Once again, this thread, directed at one fucking person, has hit 5 pages, and that's just too much. People, like whichever band you want. Look around you, everyone's decision isn't changing your way of thinking, and it won't, so to argue as if it IS changing what you think is just annoying and unnecessary.

  2. Stop dreaming and start using your head. The real possibility here (for an orig. member) is Izzy Stradlin. As far as we know, all is well in the Velvet Revolver camp, and do you really think Scott Weiland would't blow his top if Slash played. Not that Scott Weiland is the head of the band or anything, but I don't think Slash would risk all that just for a one-off with Axl. Also, Izzy is planning on a box-set release and what better way to generate some publicity? Personally though, I think any of the original members (yes, any including Adler) would be freakin sweet!

    Indeed.

  3. Is the world waiting for Axl Rose? No.

Were they waiting for him 20 years ago? No.

Advantage once again goes to Axl Rose if he can produce the music. Nobody knew him 20 years ago. If no one thinks he's around now, then he has the upper hand if he does this right. People keep complaining about the VMA performance, which showcased the new band. So, why are people thinking that no one will know the band has changed, yet, they mention that everyone knows what Axl looks like with the new band? Some of you need to give your heads a shake. If people saw the VMAs, they saw the new band. Anyone who didn't see it, has no idea what Axl is trying to do. Once again, advantage Axl, but only if he does this right.

Some good points here but i'll counter with this. The world WAS waiting for Axl Rose/Guns 'n' Roses twenty years ago, they just didn't know it until he/they hit them like a fucking freight train! rock3

It's true that both decades are similar. The 80s was in need of something to get out of pompous music and glam rock, and now we're just looking to get out of pompous music. There's just a feeling of difference today. There are too many bands who actually claim that they're here to save Rock N' Roll like they are some sort of superheroes dressed in fake leather. This is where the silence helps Axl. He hasn't promised to save the music business, yet, with the right stuff, he could take it for an interesting ride. The silence has kept him separate long enough, so when he does come back, it could have quite an impact, if a successful album backs it up with damn good tunes.

  4. The haters and doomsayers are well.....doomed to eat their words.....I'm going to enjoy this too much!!

Please explain to the forum UniBrowChild how these "haters" and "doomsayers" are "doomed to eat their words?"

As the polls and majority of comments here have alreadyproven, what the majority of fans want is the type of band they remember. A band that had five distinct personalities, a band with chemistry, attitude, integrity and recognition that had risen from nothing to take the world by storm and become the most exciting, refreshing band since the punk movement of the 70's. These same fans want a record that measures up to the ones they have been playing for years - AFD, LIES, and the UYI's. It's pretty obvious to all here with a semblence of intelligence that the new line-up and new record will NOT live up to these expectations which in turn will not be giving you and your minority band of Axl-lites the opportunity or pleasure of seeing them eating their words. MmmmKay? :rofl-lol:

Matt Sorum didn't have a distinct personality, at least not to me. Just another drummer. That being said, many of the comments I've read about the leaks were positive, and even brought some negatives out of their holes. Not everyone will love the album, that's a guarantee. If the album is a huge success, then rubbing it in the faces of people who enjoy the original band is pointless. However, expectations are created by people who wish for something fulfilling of their own tastes. Just because you don't like the new band, does not mean it is destined to fail to everyone else's expectations. Expectations are not universal, and don't present the opposite as fact.

Maybe you both should "eat your words" and quit acting like immature cupcakes. People can like both bands, or people can like one over the other. Drop it, already. It really is getting old.

  5. I think warchild went to work on his music

    "shine on, you crazy diamond"

    :rofl-lol:

    It's a Pink Floyd song.

    :o

My bad, dont listen to much floyd

    Now I feal really dumb...

    You should. You really should.

  6. Is the world waiting for Axl Rose? No.

  7. they have already sold out alot of the europe shows. and there is still a hugh diehard fan base still around they alone could sell out most shows. alot of others will go just to see what the new band is like.

Most non-forum members believe that Slash and the rest are still in GnR...there will be a LOT of disappointed fans if they ever tour the US.

Maybe four years ago, Velvet Revolver are around now.

The scenario now is far better for GNR to return than it was four years ago, firstly coz there wont be as much ill feeling towards the current band, if they want to see Slash, they know where to go, and its not in Axls ass!

As Greenday and U2 proved, 'rock' bands (i know they are not exactly like GNR but to the public they are of a similar ilk) with catchy melodies will attract the fans. A couple of big singles will carry the album sales further, sustained album sales will carry ticket sales.

The hunger for GNR is also shown when comparing Live Era sales (moderate) and Greatest Hits sales (huge considering what it was).

Add to that the band name, GNR being 'cool' again, and the last iconic frontman and their is the perfect recipe for a massive tour.

Agreed. If people outside this forum still don't realize that the original members have gone their separate ways, then that's kinda sad. People need to stop using the excuse that people will be disappointed because they find out the original members aren't there. Even people in the cornfields of Iowa know that many of the members went to VR. If they don't know that by now, then that's their own fault.

  8. I just want to say enjoy the next few months and possibly years rock3

Guns N Roses in any form is without doubt one of the most kick ass bands and Axl is a rock god.

We have been patient and we have been mocked by other fans for our love of GnR, we have suffered, we have waited and now it appears Axl is ready to reclaim his place at the top.GnR fans are unique, we have days where we lose faith but the very next day we are here and ready to keep going.Guns are back baby and they are gonna fucking rock.To those who get to see them this summer im really happy for you and i know you will love it.I can't wait to see these fuckers at Download rock3rock3rock3

Moment of over excitedness over and back to normal rock1

Guns N' Roses isnt back dude, but Axl is.

    Get a grip.

  9. For all you die-hard GNR fans out there that hate me, just picture me at the Hamerstein Ballroom front row watching Axl sing Better for the first time live...Got a picture yet? That's it, yeah, how good does it look from your punk ass location?

And? I'm sure your seat in the corner will be perfect for your loner "pathetic" chant towards Axl.

  10. Well, I have just waisted 6 hours of my life for this brainless interview.

    Going to sleep now... -->

Glad you finally saw it for it was -- and for Tommy - the way he is rather than the way you wish he was.

He's a lot better on bass than Duff.

 You've got to be kidding me.

Sorry, but Tommy has nothing on Duff - not in terms of skill, creativity, chemistry, stage presence - or image.

    I agree High.

Tommy can't hold a candle to Duff - not in his deepest darkest dreams.

Oh, come on. Just because you have something against Tommy, doesn't mean you should make a statement like that. Tommy is following Mr. Rose's wishes. If you haven't heard, Axl makes his bandmates sign contracts (gag orders) before he recruits them.

If I can't recall, Duff failed at being a solo artist. Can't say the same for Tommy.

Duff clobbers Tommy, and I like the new band. Many people fail solo careers, because they are not easy to launch. Look at Slash. He released his Snakepit albums and they were not big successes, yet Slash is still a really talented musician and is now becoming successful in another band.

  11. How can there be a Sept. release? The band is currently rehearsing. We don't know how long this will go on, but there is only a month and a half before Rio. Then they tour all summer in Europe. Unless it is finished, I don't see how a Sept. release is plausible. If it is finished, which I highly doubt, why wouldn't they put it out before the European tour or at least sometime during it.

Why would they release it now if it's finished? September makes perfect sense in my mind, because if it is finished, they can't just release it immediately without promotion. The tour is perfect for promoting the album, not to mention a single release during the summer. By September, people have warmed up to the new band after a European tour, and hopefully, a good single. If they release it now, without any promotion or a single, the impact wouldn't be as big. If it's finished, waiting a couple more months isn't going to hurt anyone at all right now.

  12. Kaneda I don't get you. When the leaks came you were Captain Positive of the USS Axl. But now that we have had a months silence you have gone back to your old repetitive self. This is pathetic, this is unbelievable... If those are your true feelings you are wasting your time. Clearly you have little faith in Axl Rose anymore so why do you bother to continue this? I have little doubt you are a thorough Guns N' Roses fan but you love to hate Axl. 15 years is a long time yes but Axl did say ''If you're waiting. Don't. Live your life, that's not my responsibility''. You know I think you have too much riding on this. We all look forward to this in a fun kind of way. You seem to get angry but at the end of the day it's music and that's all.

Its not often i argree with what you say...but i do. :o

umm, kaneda hated most of the leaks

Umm, Kev never said Kaneda liked the leaks. He just stated that he became positive for a change.

  13. Fuck Kaneda.

And fuck all the "I hate to admit it, but he's right" responses. 719 posts since October of 2003. Which basically means over the past two and a half years, on over 700 separate occasions, this guy has tried convincing people that Axl Rose is the devil... on an online forum dedicated to a band that he believes there is no hope for... truly, truly pathetic.

I'll bet ya that Kaneda has said the phrase "This is pathetic..." in over 3/4 of his posts.

  14. So, for all those who have bought tickets to see G 'n'R in europe - how do you feel now about seeing a band with no new record and an unconfirmed line-up playing mostly old songs and a few from CD that you probably would never have heard? It's quiet obvious to me that it's purely a PR/money making excercise using Europe to gear up for the real deal in America that will start in SEPTEMBER! :book:

I'm sorry, I must ask. Are you somewhat retarded? You know there is a world where you can play shows that matter outside the U.S to? Shocking, isn't it?! I tell you one thing. It feels totally great to have tickets for one of the shows this summer. I'm very happy. I just get annoyed at ignorant morons like you. :fuckyou:

fighting on the internet is like the special olympics. even if you win, your still retarded

Yeah, um, the Special Olympics don't feature "retards" as Olympians. They have certain deformities, which disallow them from participating in the actual Olympic Games, such as amputees. That quote is stupid and it doesn't make sense. Have some respect, too. Not everyone can compete with full physical attributes, and to deem them as "retards" is disgusting.

  15. I don't get people on this board at all. It's like a lunatic fringe of obtuse thinking individuals. Any half-intelligent mind can surmise that even though we have some leaks, this what not a sign of things to come. It merely is an indication that songs have been worked on, but not a sign that a release is any closer. Shit, Catcher in the Rye was recorded in 1996, and we hear a demo of it in 2006 and start to go crazy? This is lunacy if you ask me.

Axl running around in public does nothing for me. So he's showed up at a few parties looking like a tired, washed out old man. A begraggled hick from Indiana that has lost all of his sex appeal and charm, that's the 45-year old Axl we are looking hard, or shall I say, find it hard to look at. But people think that if Axl is in public it means Chinese D is right around the corner. This is not the case at all and over the past 6 years, we have waited patiently for a release date, and here we are, in the spring/summer of 2006 STILL speculating when that might be. It is pathetic and people have every right to lose their cool, but please, don't be a moronic fool and think that IRS and Better leaking means something is coming soon. Excuse me french, but it doesn't mean shit.

While I have faith in a good studio album, Guns N Roses as a band and as an image, is complete elephant dung. I mean seriously, the whole thing is a joke. And if Axl were smart, he would release the studio album and never tour again; nobody wants to so a bloated old man struggling to make it through Jungle...they just don't.

I guess what I am saying is that nothing new has changed; at the end of the day, Axl will make some amazing music, but at the cost of killing GUNS N ROSES...so at the end, when you add up the final sum, was it worth it? Waiting 16 years for great songs at the price of killing off the band you loved? This is really the Axl Rose show and what a fucked up, demented, unorganized and prima-dona show it has been. For the reason no news develops, the reason nothing ever changes in the GNR camp is simple: because Axl Rose has never changed. He has never grown up, gotten his act together and been a professional. He would rather spend his life in court, then compromise a bit to get the music to the fans and be productive. He wants to bury Slash and Co. while at the same time re-write history. Dude, you are 40-fucking-5 years old, you wasted too much time sitting on your ass, visiting Yoda, buying sports car...just release some music and rock out, why is that so hard?

    This is a recording... :sleeper:

  16. Is GNR sponsored now by Phat Farm? whats with the baggy jeans?

How does wearing baggy jeans mean they're sponsored by Phat Farm? Not evenone wears skin tight jeans...tbh I've never seen Dizzy in jeans that weren't a little loose on him.

Thanks AF for making some actual sense, unlike Solger. Dizzy wears baggy jeans and Axl wears big rings. GN'R is just a rap group in disguise to some people now. Good fucking cripes. Get a grip.

  17. Looks like Lawrence has given up again  . Anyways, if Axl can actually pull off a solid tour and introduce some great new songs, then I think Axl will know to release it. I see this tour as being a test of the new material, moreso than the 2002 tour. I believe that if Axl gets good feedback, he'll release it immediately. If not, who the hell knows? We'll see.
