  1. appetite rocked lies rocked illusions rocked and from what i have heard from demos of the new stuff it aint rock... Slash once said he had a feeling Axl would fuck the name up. So all I am saying is that if he releases that shit the name will be ruined. Sad but True

Slash has said a lot of things. He also said CD would be out in March. I think we'll all believe Slash all the time now . As for the rest of your statement, it isn't fact. Quit presenting it as fact. If you think the legacy will be ruined by the release of the album, then don't buy it. Simple as that. If you're curious as to what else Axl has to offer on the album, and you're naming that as the reason you'll purchase it, then you can't say that the legacy can be ruined based on the leaks. Therefore, quit whining, or make some sense. Thanks.

P.S. Slamming Better and claiming it is pop isn't exactly a comparison to Locomotive. Locomotive is a classic song and they shouldn't be compared ever. Both songs are from different times. If you want to make an intelligent comparison, then that would be something worthwhile. Instead, this is just a rant. Name the thread: "Rant on 'Better'". Then you can slam it all you want. Don't bring a classic like Locomotive into this.

  2. This tour will be cancelled halfway through, because Axl will fail to show up. Furthermore, marketing and promotion agencies will finally realize that a gamble on Axl Rose will always score them a loss. Axl is about as reliable as the weather.

This tour is a joke. I doubt it will get very far before it implodes on itself and Axl Rose seeks refuge for good. The man has waited far too long, disappointed us far too much and cared too little to even matter anymore.

I for one am disappointed in him, but he has made it his point on multiple occasions that he does not share any empathy towards our feelings, and has always preached that he does what he wants, how he wants and when he wants, regardless of what we as fans think or feel he should do. He has also pointed out that he doesn't care how people view him, or what people think of him.

I hate to say it, but there is no hope in Axl Rose.

:sleeper: No hope in Axl Rose for you. Don't try to extend that onto other people. Many people believe that Axl will release an album that can be a very good comeback for him. If you think he's waited too long, fine. No one else cares if you've waited too long, and no one cares if you've given up hope.

If you think the tour is a joke, that's your belief. Look at everything you say: "I for one am disappointed", "This tour is a joke. I doubt it will get very far...", "...there is no hope in Axl Rose.". Cripes, if you were anymore saddened by this tour, I'd be surprised if you didn't cry in the corner after you posted this. Tons of people believe this tour has promise, and that's why the shows sold out very quickly.

Axl Rose may be as unpredictable as the weather, but after times where he hasn't shown up, or times when he has cancelled a tour, he still manages to sell out shows extremely fast. As controversial as he is, he is still wanted at festivals and people want to hear what he has been making. Will it be the best album of all time? Perhaps to some, and many will spit on it because it took so long, but has it cost you anything to wait this long? No. It has only cost Axl Rose to wait this long, but he persists and he says the album will be out. I still don't get why people are pissed off at Axl. He isn't making you wait, it is only a person's choice to wait for an album. This shouldn't be news to anyone.

  3. Been keeping an eye on this website for a few years now.

Postively, for sure, Chinese Democracy was supposed to be released come heck or high water in November 2005.

Now here we are, 5 months (or is that 14 years) later and the GNR camp says it is this year.

I guess Axel pulled the curtain over many eyes including the label that spent millions on the un-released album.

I suppose my post will get deleted as a "non-bliever".

I don't keep a monthly watch here. So, has anyone else thrown there hands up in disgust yet?

    My humble opinion-

Saw the new GNR lineup at the MTV awards a few years ago. Thought, cool here we go.

Axle re-enters his cloak room to be never heard from again.

Deep inside he knows the new album can't meet the hype. Even if it is great. Who cares? Release it and tour.

He needs to act like a champion race car driver. Get RID of what don't work. Add more of what does work.

Axel's number one goal - Be a mystery that no one will read.

Asxls reality - Music biz moved on from GNR long ago.

The music "biz" moved on from GN'R long ago? Is that why we are subjected to run of the mill dog shit like Nickelback and The White Stripes?

Actually, he's right. The music business moved onto Nirvana, which then influenced every other band to go mainstream, playing power chords until they whine about blisters.

  4. lol..axel,axle,axsl,alxs...geez im confused now!!

 I don't know about many of you, but when someone can't spell 'Axl' right at least once in any sentence, their opinion loses all credibility, and just becomes irrelevant.

  5. Nothing is "going on." Geez - I've been a fan since '88, and I'll say that right now this is WORSE than it's been in the last few months. We hear leaks to wet our appetite, and then no one says a damn thing, which makes me want the album even more.

Apparently (allegedly?) some shows are less than two months away, and we can't get an official statement out of anyone - the band, Merck, the record company etc. etc.

Bash me all you want for this, but I'll still be a fan of Axl, and I'll STILL remain frustrated by not hearing anything. But the people who say "stop living in the past" don't understand. A lot of them have no idea what it was like hearing and seeing Gn'R consistently when most of the original band (minus Steven) was still together, recording AND plying live.

You have no idea how big it was. That last tour was just a sample This "new" band wasn't around long enough to leave people wanting more, like the old band was. I find it comical how people can say "Oh, this band is much better." Based on WHAT? A few live shows and studio demos that we have no idea who was playing on them?

OK, sorry I'm rambling. But remember - just because I like old Gn'R and I'm frustrated doesn't mean that I've stopped waiting for Axl's next move.

I agree that no one should be calling the new band better than the old one. I mean, if CD comes out and some weird soul likes it more than Appetite, which is possible, then they can like the new band more, but they still wouldn't be better. Nobody can match the old band, and this is known by all. However, these new reunion rumours are simply ridiculous and are more frustrating than the silence. But, that's my opinion. I'd rather these reunion matters be put to rest so we can attempt to accept the new band when the album is released.

People want a reunion. That's natural. But, it would just be confusing at this point, considering VR recording a new album, not to mention the tour GN'R are going on in May. Some of you may think this is the perfect time to show a reunited Guns, but it isn't. What happens if the reunited band starts to dislike Axl and his new music once again? History repeats itself, and if a reunited band broke up again, people would just end up confused and pissed again. Maybe I'm the only one who sees a reunion as being only a perfect dream, and something that really wouldn't help in reality. Being realistic has to take over here. Just try to realize that a reunion isn't all fairy dust and meadows. There can always be a heavy backlash if it happened to fail, and the total legacy of GN'R would be in extreme danger if it happened again.

  6. A lot of people look weird in their photos. Axl is no different, and we shouldn't think otherwise. Cripes, if he was giving that look onstage, you'd all be loving it and giving it praise.

  7. I don't know of any other band that keeps their beloved fans in the dark as much as Gn'r does, notably Axl himself. It's not just the silence but the false hopes (like his several comments about new music coming out real soon during the '01 and '02 tours) that have made be disappointed. He also said on a radio interview with WRIF Detroit that it would probably come out within a year of November '02, and he is way beyond that. Plus, the cancelled shows and repeated silence despite our asking for just one statement about the progress of the record is really disappointing. That being said, I love Gn'r (old better than new, but I have no real complaints about the new band) and Axl and wish them all the best and obviously hope for a great record sometime soon. But I would prefer a lot more communication. So Axl, as much as I love him and his music, deserves our criticisms.

Well said!! The guy is not even close to the same guy we all thought we "loved" back when there really was a Guns N Roses

Yeah, because Axl Rose always spoke to the fans in the early '90s . Once again people are comparing one time period of music with another, even though GN'R has changed dramatically. These are different times, and Axl knows he doesn't have the biggest band in the world with him anymore. Things just aren't as open anymore. Radio stations these days don't know dick all, and they get a lot of news from the very tool we're using. The internet. Of course, they don't get all the information on here, but a good chunk is from here.

  8. I'm just curious as to whether anyone has asked Merk about the reunion rumors? It seems everytime some new release date comes out (which seems to be every other day) somebody asks Merk...but with this Slash (and now, Duff) back to GnR stuff that has been slowly building over the last month or so, I haven't seen anyone address it.

It seems like it would be easy to find out about all this. If Merk says it's BS, then case closed. Now, if he says "No comment," or "We'll have to wait and see," then, things will get a lot more interesting. rock1

Yeah, because the reunion of one of the biggest Rock N' Roll bands of all time would be delivered to us forum users first from Merck  . Whether it's March 31st or not, these places love to watch you people drool about this stuff, and then laugh their asses off. It's quite sad that we've had all this positivity for the new band right after the leaks, but yet, as soon as some site says Slash is leaving VR, it's all "OMG!! Let's wank each other first thing because of this news!11!!!1!1!" Please. This is as bad as Slash's guitar work on Contraband. Cheap shot? Maybe. But maybe it'll get people's attention, just because it has the name 'Slash' in it.

    :sleeper:

or has bad as Finck (in general)

just helping you get some more attention there buddy ;)

  10. At least some people can smell a juicy rumour like this being a total April Fool's joke. This is Guns N' Roses people. Anything you hear within the next week from magazines will be pure rubbish, just like Sanctuary said. Don't fall for the jokes. Especially reunion ones. The reunion proposal jokes and the people wetting themselves over them are just plain old and annoying.

Tomorrow we'll get an announcement on the release of CD from some source. Then we'll get cover art and the first single, and when it will be released. Then, we'll get some photoshopped picture of Slash and Axl back together again. It's all going to be shit, and a lot of you should know this by now, instead of having spontaneous orgasms about a reunion that will never happen.

  11. This thread hasn't been closed yet? Good Lord.

Where do people come up with this "Kaneda is so reliable" bullshit? When was he reliable? When he said CD never existed? When he gave you his opinion on the leaks? Oh, that's reliable stuff right there. That is the very pinnacle of reliability. Yes, that was sarcasm.

Did you read the thread that Kaneda posted in his comeback from the silence? :book:

Oh, sorry. I just think it's a little weird how someone who once said the album never existed and that this wasn't a real band, can still give us these "inside sources" and say that the review copies will be on the way shortly.

  12. This thread hasn't been closed yet? Good Lord.

In fact, sources say that everyone on this forum will get a review copy of CD, just because we are special and deserve it for talking on a message forum about Guns N' Roses for awhile.

Sheesh. I just can't wait until April Fools Day, when we'll get a ton of these bullshit stories over and over, and a bunch of gullible twits will actually believe them all.

  13. Maybe Merck is just tired of getting these kinds of questions from people who are trying to kiss his ass. "Ooh, Merck, I've been a fan since '91/'92, so tell me the release date of CD!!" If I were Merck, I'd be laughing my ass off at these people. Like he cares that someone has been a fan since such and such a year. He's management for fuck sakes. Even Axl wouldn't give two shits if someone has been a fan since '91.

too bad you think this way

Merck was cool enough to responde my secong email right before I sent, the first one he said "Thank you for your email. I appreciate your comments and when the album comes out with the finished versions of the songs I assure you the fans will be very happy and the haters will feel like they have been kicked in the nuts!" when I said to him that we the FANS are just downloading the leaked demos to show to all of the fuckers that always said that Axl was "dead" or he will never make music again... don´t you think thats a killer answer?! well, I FUCKING DO man.

well, english is not my first leanguage, so I talk this way with all my frieds outside Brazil and post here and in HTGTH

and NO, I´m not that Renato that Axl said at RIR 3... but I remember something about the GNRONLINE and the GNRX forum

    c-ya

It's nice he responds to people, but we've heard that this CD will kick everyone's ass. We've heard that plenty of times. It is completely pointless to issue e-mails to someone such as Merck who really will never give a true answer regarding the release date. People would have to be extremely gullible to believe that this guy will actually give you some sort of hint as to when the album will be released, even after all these years.

I can see Madison sending Merck e-mails as something to look at with a curious eye. However, fans who are "dedicated" to Guns and thinking that will give them some sort of secretive path to an answer are in for an automated response. People are wasting their time to find stuff out that we know already. It's time to leave Merck alone, until something rock solid is presented to us.

  14. 15. To be honest, its the worst out fo the lot. Not the edge of rock from the other songs, and below what we think of November Rain, the only song that comes close to its style

So you must not like Queen, the Beatles, or John Lennon then. I think this song is amazing for what it is a meant to be - a throwback to the type of music made by those bands and a tribute to John Lennon while at the same time examining the thought process of the man that killed him.

And this is very different from November Rain. Just because both songs use a piano, it does not make them the same style.

Exactly. People compare November Rain with The Blues and Catcher in the Rye way too often, only because there is piano in it. All of these songs are structured differently, and have their own style. It's like saying November Rain and Catcher in the Rye should be compared to Beethoven's Symphonies.

  16. At least this Glenn guy isn't talking out of his ass when he talks about the release. He says Axl is pushing for a Summer release, yet people automatically believe Slash when he says it will be out in March. Well, March is almost over. Seems like some guy measuring the height of celebrities may know more about it than a fucking former member of the band.

  17. It's an April Fool's Day joke people! I read the fake review by Chuck Klosterman at the store today in the review section of SPIN. Gives a funny review, then #5 in the little known fact section says April Fool's. They also use that goofy axl pic with the tilted bandana & raider's jersey after the VMA's I think. It's a joke.

Didn't see that one coming.

  18. Yet another band in desperate need of attention and promotion. This is as pathetic as writing joke songs about Axl or trying to use "Chinese Democracy" as album name.... :sleeper:

Thank you finally to someone making some sense. While NIN may not need the promotion, these pics, and the fascination with hoping there is something GN'R related, is really getting too extreme. A topic like this creates 11 pages worth of replies? That's out of hand. Even if for some reason this album turned out to be a joint album between both NIN and GN'R, these pics are still nothing short of retarded.

  19. I find the extreme overanalyzation of this quote extraordinarily lame. Yes, Axl said, "You will hear music this year.". While some of you believe this wasn't referring to CD, every other single thing he said in that interview was talking about the album. For example, he said the number of songs that he was completing for the album/albums. He also said that some of the arrangements on the album are like Queen, and he concluded by listing his favourite three tracks from the album. Every other thing he said had to do with the CD itself, so why must people pick away at this quote constantly? Let's move on.

  20. JohnUlmer nailed it. Axl used the hair metal popularity to make himself be heard, and AFD became a massive success. However, Axl has always wanted to take a musical direction of his own, which showed up on the Illusions. To this day, Axl still wants to put out an album of his direction and that's probably what we're going to get on CD. I know people worry about rap or bloated love songs flooding the album, and I'm not one who believes that Axl can do no wrong, but I still think he'll pour whatever he has left into this album/albums. He wants to show that he has a creative mind like the artists he grew up listening to.

Sly, you made some good points. However, I disagree with the little bit on IRS. Granted, those aren't his best lyrics, but on the other leaks, the lyrics are really well done. Same with OMG. This is my opinion, but his lyrics really do shine through on the music for me. IRS does seem more like a 3-minute+ rocker, but the other songs have sensational lyrics. I haven't heard lyrics like those from a rock band in quite some time.

You need to post on this forum more often! B)

    UK SUBS.

Thanks, Subs. I was hoping to get the time to compliment your signature. Just noticed it a few minutes ago. Awesome sig B)
