Possible reasons for Axl no good today:

    1) Staying in Austria for too long? Flying to Prague just the night before?

    2) Too many days in between Vienna show and Prague show? (Lazy Axl didn't rehearse, went out, drank a lot?)

    3) Show time started too early for him. He's already making  huge effort going at 9PM regularly.

    4) Leaving the throne comfort zone, walking, moving around too much fucks up his singing?

    5) Screaming like a fuck for the past 5 shows have already taken its toll and damaged his voice?

    6) Cold/bad weather in some countries made him sick? In most of last show you can see him blowing his nose between songs.

    Anything else? :(

Not trying as hard now it's common knowledge that he sounds awesome.

even Thunderstruck is cracking a bit

Slightly on the first verse but it was still amazing. I honestly think Axl was a bit drunk. Like, since the show started earlier he was probably necking drinks quickly before the show and, most likely, didn't warm up either. The dude is probably relieved after the positive reaction from the first couple of shows and is having a blast celebrating on tour fronting his favourite band.

  3. I suspect due to the early start time of the show that he didn't warm up before the show. Hence the shaky rasp. Rasp is actually "glottal compression" and is easier to apply after warming your throat up. If he didn't do that and has been drinking alcohol on top of that, it would explain a shaky performance. Hell, it would explain his entire fucking career.

  4. Nah, if his voice is cracking it'll just be because he's more comfortable singing it now and is letting loose a bit on the screams, it happened loads on the use your illusion tour on nightrain, when you're singing that high and with lots of power, the note can escape you a bit and you lose control, relax. It still sounds awesome and I'm sure he's aware of it and won't get so carried away next time. Even so, so what? Still sounds badass.

  5. Probably GN'R. Just because a load of AC/DC fans may boycott the album out of stubbornness. Some of the hard-core fans aren't completely sold on Axl and would be pissed if he was to record with them, I know a lot of GN'R fans would buy the album but I don't think the interest would have the same crossover appeal to the mainstream as a full blown Guns record with Slash would.

You might be waiting forever.. That song was played once with Bon in 79. Hasnt been played since. I doubt that Grandpa Angus brings it back just because Axl told some pap at the airport that it was his current favorite AC/DC song

Didn't someone report them rehearsing it or saw it on the setlist or something a little while back?

  7. Weakest performance so far by Axl out of the 4 he's done but nonetheless, he still sounded phenomenal. It was probably due to the crowd being so shit. I think it pissed him off a bit, I'm pretty sure that's why he said "oh so now you're having fun? Settle down a bit" or something to that effect. Also, he probably stood up just to get them going a bit. Guarantee Belgium gets swerved on GN'R's European tour.

Axl today don't have any chance to pull of Freddie's vocals on any song, you have to agree that AC/DC (specially Brian era) isn't really singing you can rasp it through every song and that's it i don't see what is challenging there. And GNR don't really have that much songs that you can rasp through full song and because of that he sounds better with AC/DC than GNR.

Some of that may be true but in no way can you say it's not challenging. To blast it consitantly that high and with power and control is ridiculously hard. Hence why Brian hasn't been able to do it for years. Even if Axl is just using head voice for the majority of the set, to get it that heavily distorted and strong is insane, especially on stuff like Thunderstruck and the end of For Those About to Rock. On some stuff you can clearly hear that he's pulling his chest voice up as well, like on the verses of Shoot to Thrill. That's also a song that Brian has sounded shit on for decades. I don't think you fully realise what Axl is actually doing vocally with this AC/DC material, it is impressive and it is more than challenging.

He used his upper chest voice throughout the entire verse portion of Nightrain as well.

  9. Why is it even important if some casuals hate him? He obviously has millions of fans, is held in the highest regard by critics as one of the greatest vocalists of all time, is partly responsible for one of the most successful albums ever recorded, is currently fronting two of the biggest bands on the planet, he's reconciled with Slash and, oh yeah, he's rich as fuck!

No matter how many people stubbornly hate him, he'll go down in history as one of the greatest of all time. All this resurgence he's having this year is just icing on the cake.

It's similar to how people percieve Floyd Mayweather, everyone hates him but his accomplishments have already solidified his legacy. It doesnt matter if more than 50% of comments on Facebook are negative, the fact that people hate him is relevant because he's seen and talked about enough to be hated.

  10. Led Zeppelin would be a great fit. It's similar to the AC/DC situation in that, if they were to replace their frontman, they'd need an iconic name who can also deliver vocally. Axl's voice is perfect for Zeppelin material, it'd be even easier for him than AC/DC as it requires little to no rasp, but with Axl's style it'd make the songs edgier and a bit meaner which personally, I always thought Plant lacked a bit. I'd love to hear Communication Breakdown and Immigrant Song with some brutal screams. Zeppelin is right up Axl's alley.

Holy shit Axl, slow down man. It sounds ridiculously good, but ridiculously unhealthy. Fuck, I hope it is sustainable - maybe Axl himself doesn't know if it is and is finding out soon.

That is some serious late 80's/early 90's rasp there. I didn't think he still had this in him. Even listening to it makes my hand reach for my throat to check if everything is allright.

He is doing what we wanted, that is going all in to get the rasp. I think he will either 1) find out he can still do this nightly or 2) obliterate whatever's left of his voice. I hope it's 1.

They've already had over 20 rehearsals, I think it's safe to say he's not gonna blow his voice out. It's quite funny how we as fans get when it comes to Axl, it's like people have forgotten that he's actually a professional vocalist and is fully aware by this point how not to destroy his voice.
