Holy fuck it looks terrible. How can a band this big with a lot of GREAT artists working on their lithos are unable to do a decent cover art is beyond me lol

Looks amateur at best, the use of the effects seems like someone who just started learning photoshop on youtube.

I thought exactly the same- but people seem to really like it?

Looks like cheap shit to me, when the lithos are (largely) fantastic.

That's one show, and a handful of others. The remainder of those shows sold out or sold very well.

To say AC/DC fans don't want to hear it is a stretch. Yes, 100% they want Brian on stage and Phil Rudd. But in their absence if they cannot perform, the fans are pretty happy with Axl in 2016 after they hearing him and after he brought back deep cuts and they were happy with Rudd's replacement in California.

If AC/DC went out on the road with Axl while Brian was capable of singing then almost no AC/DC fan would want to support them... But AC/DC would still sell a lot of tickets regardless. It's a different situation when the singer has to leave the band because he can't physically do it, and in that instance getting a top star to cover is more than acceptable.

Hoping that Brian gets his voice a bit more together and gives a decent show when they hit the road, so ACDC  can go out with a proper roar!

But (correct me if I'm wrong here) no shows were announced with Axl were they? It was always sold as AC/DC so people had their tickets.

A lot of shows, as I recall, didn't offer refunds so people went regardless. A lot of people went along anyway as they already had their tickets/plans and gave it a go. It went down better than expected.

It's a big difference though between getting people to keep hold of the tickets they've already bought and actually selling tickets to an AC/DC tour without Brian.

Beating a dead horse, but man I hope they release this digitally as a single on Friday. Releasing The General should be a victory lap for the GNR, especially since it’s very likely the last “new” song we’ll get  for the foreseeable future. To see its release bungled and half-assed would be a real shame.

Oh, it has to come digitally, fir sure.....but I'd say the release is already bungled and half-assed!

I think it must be nice for most musicians to know that the hardcore fanbase is into it. I don't think Axl's main motivation is if the fans like it or not, he released Absurd as the first single of the reunited lineup after all, but it might influence the decision if he is still on the fence when it comes to releasing it, which I don't think he is anyway (just a guess)

agreed about the last part of your post, it's nice to now have Absurd, Atlas, SOG, HS, Perhaps, The General, and Monsters in some form. Eye On You as well plus OMG and Chinese the album. 23 tunes from Chinese era with vocals. Could have been worse.

Yep. I don't think we'll hear anything now that isn't part of those leaks (and I think it's possible we might not even hear that), so really we're at the stage where it's just a curiosity thing to see how Slash's guitar differs from the others if they manage to release anything.

If it happens - ok, fine. If it's too difficult for them to even release these songs, well, there we go. I think they're probably spent as a creative force now.

no way to really know, of course, but I think Monsters will be officially released eventually. Would be a shame if Axl decided to not do it cause it's a very strong track imo, and most fans in here seems to really like it. I'm sure the band is aware of that.

Definitely a good song, but I'm not sure what the fans want factor in at all to what the band does. We're just seen as a bit of a pain in the arse unless we're forking out for some crappy super expensive 'early entry VIP' tickets and standing on the front row flapping Nightrain passports around to catch an approving glance from someone who isn't in the band!

I hope it gets a release one day too, but, you know, we have it at least. It's like all the rest of the leaked stuff - it might never get an official release, but at least we get to listen to it.

I was just expecting higher quality of the same exact thing we've been listening to.

I sometimes forget this is GNR and such simple expectations are too much to expect.

It has to be amateur hour top to bottom, 24/7/365. Even their "big guns" can't escape this fate.

Yep, I'd agree on that one. I've worked on getting my expectations as low as possible so I'm not surprised!

Isn’t it confined Monsters is not on the vinyl tho.

Yep. But I'm very much in the camp that thinks it was meant to be, based on the quality issue and the rights registration of the two tracks together.

Others think differently of course, and I'm not sure we'll ever find out. I'm also not sure that we'll get an official Monsters release now.

The real mystery is where “Monsters” came from.

The vinyl theory is the most obvious and likely one.

It was supposed to be on there, it was taken off for quality reasons, but in the process of that happening both songs leaked as they went through someone's hands either at the pressing plant, at the label or somewhere else.

After listing a few times I can't really tell the difference

That's as predicted really. The leaked versions will be off the original vinyl....but they won't be rips of the actual vinyl being played, rather the files that were to be used to make the vinyl.

So yeah, I would imagine they sound pretty much identical to what we already have.

That doesnt explain why they couldnt have just recorded new songs from the start like most bands do instead of drip feeding mediocre at times CD leftovers.

The explanation for it seems increasingly to be that they have fuck all. The last drops are being wrung slowly dry.

I have the 7 inch of November Rain and it sounds fine. And that album is 30 years old. This is such a weak excuse to an issue that isn't totally uncommon.

My vinyl of the new Spiritbox EP was just delayed because of the same reason. The quality was not what they wanted and it was a 6 song EP on a 10 inch vinyl. It happens. Be glad they are getting the product correct instead of releasing a bad quality product.

Maybe. I mean people are getting what they paid for (perhaps/the general) so can't have too many complaints, but it looks very likely monsters was supposed to be on there.

Either way, my order for this remains cancelled. They can't organise a piss up in a brewery and I'm glad the songs leaked so I can vote with my my wallet on this one. I don't need a 7" I'll play once or twice.
