You might have overlooked it, but I linked to the discussion in my comment. I know what it said.

And if your going by what the cousin said, Axl and Janaina did have a romantic relationship. That's who he is talking to in the video.

Ah yeah seen it now. I just recall her clarifying at some point that there was no romantic relationship.

I don't know- the whole thing is fucking weird, with Beta apparently stepping in like that and threatening everyone (if that bit is true). The whole thing seems absolutely bizarre.

I sometimes wonder if he is indeed married to Beta, perhaps for financial or admin purposes.

Then I wonder why the fuck i'm remotely interested or care!

In the video, Axl is also supposedly talking to a woman he's trying to sleep with, and her cousin is the one who provided the video. Why would he start talking about a wife?

In the original article, the cousin only refers to Beta as Axl's manager, which would be unlikely if Axl point blank told her that Beta was his "wife".

It was all very strange - he didn't try and sleep with those women at all, but there was some incident with them and Beta as I recall, something like her telling them to go away from him.

It was all discussed on here at the time, so you could probably still find it.

I guess he means this video from 2012 that surfaced in 2020. But it's not really clear what Axl says (1:16 min mark)

Yep that's the one. I thought there was another incident too, but absolutely can't remember when/where.

This was definitely the one I meant though. It's either 'wife' or 'life', and the latter doesn't make much sense.....strange.

Because it accomodates the hangers-on who've surrounded for over thirty years and done nothing to fix it.  At least if he's lazy, they can shrug and enjoy the high life he pays to keep them around.

Hell, maybe they want to keep him unproductive, it's not like he can do anything to stop them.  That would require making decisions and taking action with concrete results.

    I always think -

Axl on tour = lots of money for lots of people not in the band.

Axl in a studio = no money for those same people.

Music releases = no money for those same people.

There's a lot of interest (and probably pressure) in keeping him doing shows, for sure. I would imagine there isn't one person putting pressure on him to write and record music.

Duff announces a new double live album coming later this month. I guess I’m too much of a simpleton to understand why Guns hasn’t released a live album 8 years into the semi reunion :shrugs:

With everything going on in the world right now the timing is not right.....

Can you believe this was actually given as an excuse with straight face at one point?!

What irks me about Axl's lack of productivity is that GNR are my favourite band, bar none, and yet I never listen to them anymore. And I'm sure I'm not alone with that.

No band will ever move me the way GNR did and I cherish all four of their proper albums, but it's just such slim pickings. There are bands I don't like anywhere near as much as GNR that I listen to far more regularly, simply because they have a wealth of material to discover.

It's a shame. I'd love to look forward to new releases from my favourite band, but life's a shit and rarely gives you what you want.

Same. There's only so much you can actually listen to such a small catalogue of work, after so many years. My listens to GNR are few and far between now because of that, and yeah, it is a real shame. I listen to bands I like a lot less than GNR a lot more.

  7. I'd say he's lazy and also has some serious issues around all sorts of things, that have probably led to that laziness.

He seems happier though, and I can't begrudge the guy that. I just selfishly want new music, but he's not prepared/willing/able to do that.....but that is what it is. A shame and a waste but his decision.

All the pictures of Axl out at events and in clubs, especially the 09-14 era, he was surrounded by 10 supermodels. The stories of TB and security going into the crowd and picking out girls to go backstage with Axl. The shows where GnR used to pack out the 2/3 front rows with stunning young supermodels. It wasn't richard fortus demanding those girls! The stories of Axl from slash an duffs autobigraphies. There's enough there to join the dots. I think he probably has them sign non disclosures stopping the kiss and tells, but there's no doubt Axl is a hound dog when it comes to sewing his wild oats!

I remember that weird models thing- they were hiring them in! I remember one of them talking at the time though, saying that they literally just got invited to watch the gig, and that nothing sexual was suggested or implied.

I just don't see all this sex stuff going on really. It would inevitably be out there being talked about, and he seems to spend all his time time with Beta.

I mean I've no idea obviously, but it doesn't seem to be going on.....

Axl loves attention from attractive women aged 18-25, the more the better. He doesn't seem so enamoured when meeting male fans. He's a rockstar, he's too old for drugs and big boozing, so sex is his main thing. If you want to meet axl, just be a female with a great body aged 18-24 and you'll meet him no problem.

There's not really much evidence for that though- there's never any 'kiss and tell" stories or anything or even nany rumours around this stuff. It's a strange existence he seems to lead!

Thanks! It was a freak accident as well. That day and the following days after that, I wondered if I was able to walk again or even how I would walk considering I had previous surgeries as a kid to correct club feet.  I'm fully recovered now.

This is why I keep saying whenever you, JimiRose, or someone  says that GNR should not keep touring. You never know what can  happen in your own life. I never expected that I would have gotten into an accident that would sideline me from work for 4.5 months. I never expected to miss a concert seeing my all-time favorite band nor missing out on social events such as two women being interested in me.  It happened and now I have to move forward. Additionally, one day GNR will stop touring either by their own accord or something will happen health wise to them. Why rush the inevitable?

I don't really mean they SHOULD stop touring, as people clearly enjoy it, as did I on the last leg.....just if they did, it wouldn't matter like it would have mattered a few years ago.

It would feel a lot more 'right' for them to split now than probably at any time in their history in my view. If there's no forward motion of course.

I would be disappointed. I broke my foot three days before the GNR show at MetLife. I didn't have the chance to see them last year. Additionally, seeing GNR  is my enjoyment. When you work for a high pressure company and have to deal with  some other stress,  you want to do things that bring you enjoyment. Eventually GNR will cease to exist.

Why would any fan want to rush the inevitable? Go to the concert and enjoy the music. There will come a day where either you or GNR will not be able to do so.

Wow- that is shitty. Sorry to hear that!

    The research is already done.

There are still many, many thing that we don't know about the band or about Axl, but we shouldn't go around being ignorant about the stuff that is well documented.

He's an open book, clearly. Just desperate to spill all the juicy details about whatever the fuck he does with his spare time.

I'm surprised there are any secrets left to reveal given how active he is on social media, shining that bright light into his personal life!

Well, if you read a bit more you would know more.

Here's Axl himself talking about why he didn't do press and how it had to do with his belief that the press was out to get him and protect Slash: (35) 28. AUGUST 2008-FEBRUARY 2009: CHINESE DEMOCRACY IS RELEASED - Page 2 (a-4-d.com)

And here's about Axl deliberately keeping out of the spotlight and that he did have an aversion to promoting himself: (35) 23. JANUARY 2001-NOVEMBER 2002: RICHARD REPLACES PAUL, TOURING STARTS (a-4-d.com)

The latter point about Axl not having an interest in self-promotion or celebrity status is also exemplified with Sebastian Bach talking about how Axl would paid big money to not be part of celebrity shows on tv, in contrast to Bach.

Ah, I always enjoy giving you some research to do to scratch that pedantic itch!

Glad you've got him sussed out!

He has had no problems sharing personal things from his life previously. But after 1991 only under controlled situations. He stopped doing press not so much because he didn't want to share, but because he thought media was against him and wouldn't give him a fair chance. And he doesn't have a particular interest in growing his celebrity status, so he avoids press for promoting himself. An autobiography wouldn't really be opposed to any of this.

Glad you know him so well!

I have no idea what he thinks, only that he seems incredibly private.
