I think Slither doesn't need to be dropped for Anastasia. There are enough other songs that can be replaced, like The Seeker.
This Sidney version is probably the best thing Slash has ever played in his entire life.
Yikes you like Axl doing Slither? 'Here come the water ...' is Axl at his worst

So I’ve been on a SMKC kick tonight for the first time in years and it got me wondering..with GNR currently touring and releasing a few new songs and SMKC releasing music soon and likely touring…who do you honestly think is a better band musically in recent years? Not history or even necessarily songs in and of themselves..but say since 2016 to now who is a more impressive band live?
Good question to judge them on recent history. I think SMKC have way better chemistry on stage and are undoubtedly more creative in terms of new music. I love Duff but Todd is really good and a pretty good singer.
One of the big problems with Guns is Frank on drums. Fitzy is way better.
The excitement of the reunion has well gone now. When I'm at a Guns show I know which song is coming next where SMKC I don't and every tour has featured new original material.
Definitely SMKC for me.

I had tickets for Manchester and oddly enough, my friends old man had messaged to say that they were going to sell their tickets the other day, so at least that saves any additional hassle. I just checked out Brad's statement and I hope they do hit the road again, but age comes to us all and I can't even imagine the toll it will take on them in their advancing years.
Yeah I had tickets for all 3 England shows and Krakow. It sucks it's cancelled and definitely not a Covid reason. We missed out for years as they just wouldn't tour here. Their last UK tour was 9 Lives 1997 which is fuckn criminal.
On the brightside shockingly Ticketbastard have refunded my tickets already

put a band together. Write and record a new album in 10 days. No bullshit.
Izzy & Duff on vocals
Why? SMKC are a great band.
Duff and Izzy aren't great singers.
If anything put GNR aside. They have no creativity

Crash Diet has absolutely nothing to do with UYI seeing as it was written and recorded before even AFD.
It's on my hooky Unwanted Illusions CD. Must be true

Physical versions are on sale now from the UK store, for those in Europe that were waiting.......
I'd prefer to queue up at HMV on release day with thousands of others singing and chanting

No worries! Been keeping an eye on it as I didn't want to order from America myself either.
Just opted for the CD myself. Weirdly I quite fancied the cassette too, but it's price tipped me into the 'ah, I can live without it' category.
Stick with the CD lad

I wish a reporter would ask him if they are ever going to release a studio version of Crash Diet
That will probably be on the Illusions 31st year anniversary release

I thing the 2 songs will come out this year during the tour and another ep at the end of the year or the beginning of 2023. The same plan as the last year
That's what Forus will say in interview

Wow in 1 week Slash has been on Jimmy Kimmel ... been on the Howard Stern Show ... Released an album ... done a live stream of the entire album. That's more than some bands do in ... 30 years!
Yet this shitty thread is still going!
Give it up man. There's football on today

Nice one. That was great ✌

From that interview I think we can take ...
- They keep the peace by travelling alone
- We're getting another 2 song EP in 2023 ... or 2024
- Guns are officially 'The World's Most Boring Band'
Slash stick to your creative Band with Myles mate
-
I reckon The River Is Rising is the least good song. Really loving this album
Fall Back To Earth an epic favourite so far. Whatever Gets You By and Fill My World another 2 standouts but I like them all.
It's a piece of piss to record 10 songs and release an album. No Covid excuses here

Just rewatched the whole performance again. Never actually watched an entire GNR concert straight through. This is really, really great.
In a way I think this is similar to U2s Songs of Innocence/Experience. It sounds with the music that Slash has gone back to the music of his youth. I'm definitely getting a 1970s Aerosmith vibe from a lot of the longs.
Yes I agree. I actually like how it's only a 10 song album. All killer like Aerosmith albums from the 70s were just 8 songs
-
That was fantastic. I re-watched it straight away. What a great band! Every band should do this ... it's great promotion for album/tour.
Fall Back To Earth is epic ... what a tune

Yeah, nothing to complain here, really. It's not great that you can't here the audience at all again, sounds kinda sterile because of that.
And, but that's completly subjective, I'm just super tired of the same old songs over and over again.
Ha this is a American audience. All you can normally hear is slurping drinks, rustling of popcorn and crunching of Nachos!

So the best way for me to enjoy this is to not fully concentrate on Axl. He nailed OTGM and a lot of other parts though, so nothing to complain about, really.
Some even discovered noodling during the November Rain solos. I couldn't figure it out but... but each to his own I guess.
All in all it was fun to watch and I'm still hoping for more. Seems like Fernando enjoys the positive comments and considers even fan choises for next vids.
I agree this was by far the best of the 3.
Axl was pretty good in 2016 and if you aren't going to enjoy this video you might as well give up.

I think venues need a plan B for next year.
A reduced crowd with barriers to seperate people. If a 60,000 stadium are only allowed 25-30,000 in smaller pockets wearing masks that's better than nothing. Bands would have to be prepared to take a pay cut. That might be a problem!
We can't have another year like this. Small bands will be fuct. Thousands of people lose their jobs. It may mean you can't go to every gig you want to, if you have health issues you need to stay away and possibly self isolate afterwards. We need something

Thanks! I shall stop posting so much, the reason I have been is that a) I am genuinly interested to hear what folk who have been around for a while say b) its been a bit quiet.
It's a fair question. Don't let the experts with thousands of posts stop you from posting.
Personally if there's no new music I'd like one more tour and then let the creative members do their thing. Yes please to Slash N Myles, Duff solo/Loaded/Walking Papers and Dizzy solo.

I am not denying that you think it is unlistenable, that's only for you to decide. My point was that if the majority of fans attending the shows think it is unlistenable, too, then that would quickly result in people stopping to attend the shows leading to the tour's cancellatio. because no one will accpt paying money for something that is unlistenable. So we have to conclude that most people attending the shows don't find it unlistenable. It wouldn't have been such a successful tour if it was.
I was at Download 2018 and oddly Axl didn't sound as bad as he did on the NITLT select. When you're there live rocking out and singing you don't critic Axl's voice.
But on the NITLT select Slither, Sweet Child and Rocket Queen Axl was appalling. It was close to unlistenable. Full on Mickey. Axl was spitting and snotting everywhere so I hope it was partly down to being ill.

She says they are like big brothers. Axl did this
During a 2018 show at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii, she felt a tug on her hair midway through a song. She looks back and sees Axl Rose standing there with a big chunk of blue hair in one hand and a large pair of scissors in the other. “I’m like, ‘What the fuck is going on?'” she says. “I stopped playing and started screaming. He runs away and I don’t know if he’s taken off a huge chunk or what.”
It turns out the hair wasn’t hers — it was all a practical joke that Axl spent weeks meticulously plotting out. He even had a tour assistant bring him different wigs with all sorts of shades of blue so he could find the perfect match for her hair. “They went through all the possibilities of what might happen,” says Reese. “Someone even said she might grab the scissors and stab you. But he was so pleased with himself and it was pretty fucking rad.”
Yeah I know. I wonder what she thinks

I guess the question about her age has finally been answered then.
"A couple of weeks before Guns N’ Roses kicked off their 2016 reunion tour, keyboardist Melissa Reese got a call from Chinese Democracy producer Caram Costanzo. “We may be looking for a keyboard player,” she remembers him saying. “I didn’t even realize he was talking about me. Then he said, ‘What are you doing for the next few years?’”
Many thoughts flooded her head at once. First off, Reese was just 25 and didn’t really know the Guns N’ Roses catalog outside of mega-hits like “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Welcome to the Jungle” (both released before she was born)..."
So GNR have a member still in their 20's. I wonder if she really thinks GNR are a bunch of old farts. She obviously wasn't a fan if she just knew the mega-hits

100%. Only thing I liked was Rossi's original "Headspin." But Toby's original blew it out of the water. Actually just stumbled across the performance on YouTube recently and that song still holds up.
Honestly, the whole Supernova album had some great moments on it IMO. Be Yourself, It's All Love, Can't Bring Myself To Light This Fuse are still good listens for me. But yeah, Toby was a much more entertaining in so many aspects to watch perform.
Oh yeah I did like that Toby Rand original but Headspin was awesome too. I liked both singers. I probably favoured Rossi. The Supernova album was top notch. It's On was another great tune.
Supernova only did one little tour and that was that.

I'm not sure. He has a lot of time on his hands, doesn't he?
My position on these videos would have been to comment in the knowledge that Team Brazil and therefore Guns N' Roses are proceeding with 'baby steps''. Team Brazil were literally proceeding from the lowliest position imaginable (toy cars and beach towels): nothing of interest for the fans; no live-archival stuff like all the other bands do; antipathy - hostility - with the fanbase, etc etc. Fernando, instigated by the fans' desire, then put three videos out which was a significant improvement on basically everything Fernando has ever released before just by existing, irrespective of quality. You are literally proceeding from ''toy cars'' to ''live footage'': that is quite a leap in the dark, quite a big step, for this mismanaged band. It would be different if Fernando had been releasing beforehand superb full concerts like Metallica and then we would all be saying to ourselves: ''why only the three songs? Why has the editing/mixing regressed?''.
We went from toy trucks!
You can only ''walk before you run''. Who knows; maybe it might have been five videos next time? Maybe the editing and quality might have improved. But the videos were crucified - unfairly I feel, as Slash was superb - and if I saw the comments I'd be thinking, ''bugger that load of cunts, I'll go back to releasing toy trucks''.
They were well received on Nightrain. Why wouldn't he take in to account what people think on there. And Reddit had some positive comments which seems to be his site of choice.
If you add up how many people made negative comments on here it's not really that many. I know diehard Gunners that have never even been on a forum.
Fernando said they should have already been out, they'll be out sooner than Soon, he wants to bridge the gap with fans. Releasing 3 songs then nothing seems to be winding people up more than anything. A poor show

Haha fair point
