Nah man - it’s really easy to be a part time front man like Todd and sound good like this. At this tempo and in the right circumstances Axl could easily replicate it - early in the set etc etc.

One thing that’s missing is the lack of any anger in the delivery. It’s kinda just spoken - Axl might be able to add more of that. It’s the tempo that’s key….if slowed a notch it offers more breathing time.

However it’s still very cool to hear it in any form, done well and actually shows it COULD happen in the future.

I think he did a good job. However - while I agree that breath control is key here it shouldn’t be forgotten that Kerns only sang lead on THREE songs so had plenty of gas in the tank.

I’m pretty sure if Axl was to have a go early on in a gig he could do absolutely fine.

One thing that was missing from Kerns (and probably from Axl if he did it) is the palpable anger that the original has. Obviously it’s a 30 year old song etc however it’s quite telling how different it sounds ‘speaking/singing’ it like Kerns - it didn’t have the bite and rage.

Keep in mind though that Todd is also singing backing vocals/harmonies for all the other songs in the set, it's not like he's only singing 3 songs and that's it. He's singing during the whole set. He just knows how to take care of his voice and make it last for the whole show.

Yeah I agree about the anger, but (like you said) I think the only person who could replicate that is Axl in 1991-1993. I'm not sure he could do it now.

Yeah, I know that Slash said the same thing years ago. However, if Todd can pull this off maybe Axl can as well. After all, they played Coma during the tour.

No way, Todd is 100x the singer that Axl (in his current form) is.

Maybe he will use it as a tutorial to sing it during the next GNR tour:lol: No joke I think it would go over well it's mostly in his lower voice which still sounds every bit as good as it ever did. It's clearly not at all impossible to sing as we have just seen.

If he figures it out this would probably be the best addition to the setlist since Coma in 2016. Unexpected, not done at all before, and just a great present for the fans, this is one of GNRs most AFD-sounding and AFD-quality rockers, it's too bad it never got it's due live. This and Breakdown are the last 2 "big" songs of the deep cuts left that they could still pull out as a new addition to the set.

No thanks, I don't want to see Frank Ferrer mess it up.

I hate Anastasia as the last song though, it should switch places with World On Fire...

It doesnt have proper momentum imo.

I agree, WOF would be a better closer

There are dozens of other better choices than Sugar Cane which is one of the worst SMKC tracks ever. On par with Withered Delilah and Bad Rain

I love Sugar Cane, idk why you all don't.

This is a video of what I think is his old home studio. He's moved house since then so I don't know what his current set up is or whether he's let camera's in.

Others who follow Slash more closely might know.

That's not his studio, the drums and bass were done at NRG studio in LA and guitar and vocals were done at Elvis's studio in Orlando.

I'm very excited about the upcoming Slash solo album. in addition, Slash already composed at least 10 songs for The Conspirators which he has yet to release from before "4" was released. I'd like to hear those as well.

hopefully the next Conspirators album will have better production. There were a lot of cool Slash ideas on "4" and tunes which I still listen to. It should be easier for Slash now to work as covid is not really as much of an issue.

also Myles was not 100% healthy when he recorded "4" so the next one should be stronger vocally.

They need to get rid of Dave Cobb and go back to Elvis.

No, this sudden meet and greet was done backstage after a Guns N'Roses Concert. Axl says something like,"I'm surprised you're still here. Everyone else already went home." The Fan said,"I've been a Fan of you ever since I was nine years old. " Axl says,"I'm so sorry!" 🤣🤭😇

Yeah, still not the same thing.

Axl did a meet and greet although the meet and greet was a surprise to him! He still consented even though this meet and greet was literally sprung on him out of nowhere. Another Celebrity might have said something like,"Fuck off with this sudden meet and greet, I'm out of here!"😒 But he was actually nice to the Fan and even hugged her. 😇Edit. This was RECENT Axl. I'm not so sure if Younger Axl would have been so accommodating and tolerant. 💡🤔

That's just meeting people on the street, that's not an organized meet and greet.

They are probably going to ambush Axl by surprise with a subpoena. I saw something similar happen when Olivia Wilde got served a subpoena at an awards show or something. She at first thought it was a script for a new movie. She was shocked when she saw the subpoena! So maybe Axl will get the subpoena by surprise at say a meet and greet? 🤔

They don't do meet and greets.

via Slashfrance (Slash's interview for some South American media)

The last Slash and the Conspirators album was released almost two years ago. What expectations do you have for 2024 and what projects are you thinking about?
I'm very happy with the idea of extending this tour, since initially we only did it in the United States. I think it was early last year. So I'm really looking forward to this tour. And now that COVID has passed and isn't causing as much damage, we can try to get back to a regular cycle of album recording and touring.

So at some point next year, I'd like to get into the studio and start recording the next SMKC record and then figure out when the tour for that future album will take place. And then I have a record that I made recently that focuses mainly on blues, a little bit of old school rock and R&B. And it will come out after the tour with the Conspirators.
I'm looking forward to that as there will also be a tour to support it. So those are really the most immediate things that will happen right now.

    Yay!
