SMKC seems to be the place to meet famous rockstar kids, that's where I met Wolf who seemed like a genuinely nice guy, but he also comes across exactly the same in interviews. I think he's less Hollywood. I sound like I'm ragging on Trev, I'm not! talented guy and hope he lands himself a great band to take him to the next level!

Well this was at an LA show so all the "more famous" people were there.

I imagine it was tough reading the bile at 18yrs of age, but also given who his dad is, it's insane he went in there and wasn't prepared for all possibilities; probably a good thing he did that it smartened him up to how things really are, and the name will only get you so far.

I'm not really a fan of his music, but he can obviously play. It's a tough road to follow when your dads been on every good record in the last 40 years. I'm not surprised there's a bit of a chip on his shoulder, just like Wolf VH. End of the day, talented guys and they took opportunities afforded to them from their family names... who wouldn't?

The only reason I dislike some rockstar kids is when they have no humility. If you haven't achieved anything and you're walking around with an ego you need to shut the fuck up. Like I said, I'm not a fan of Trevs music, but at least he's had some success as a writer and some small bands and hasn't been out trying to be his dad. Obviously WVH is killing it and humble too. Trev to me seems a little smug, but maybe that's nerves when he's doing interviews?

I've met Trev briefly once (at an SMKC show actually) and we have some mutual friends. I never felt any kind of smugness or anything like that. He's definitely trying to carve his own path now as a producer and guitarist.

This is the instrumental of the song Slash did for that popstar who is going to sing on this album in return. Recorded on the road last gnr tour (Netherlands i think) I'm not saying it as a joke but the drums have clipping

will remove the link later  if not allowed

That whole record with that song is clipping all over.

Man I wish he leaves that… I even forgot how its called… that slide guitar keyboard he uses for Rocket Man. I hope he leaves that at home. It’s not bad but I wanna listen that outro solo on guitar instead. I wouldn’t mind if he plays it first and switch to guitar at the end but doing the song completely without a real Slash solo feels like a missed opportunity :shrugs:

Not sure how old you are, but the older guy may have looked like (meaning: $$$) he would be the target costumer for the company hahaha

Maybe so (because I am a little younger) but it's not like going to your corner guitar shop, this is the NAMM store where people of all ages are around and trying out gear. I mean Friedman, Bad Cat, and some other amp brands like that are also more expensive but they encouraged us to come play the amps. The Magnatone guy was just being a douche.

@Voodoochild Is correct, no way the photoshoot was for Magnatone. If so, he would appear with his 'for eternity' friend Les Paul.

Maybe we'll get a single soon then.

That’s upsetting. What did he do?

And what else did you see there? I thought this was really cool:

Yeah that looks cool too. My brother played through the new Friedman 50w plexi which is part of their "Vintage" line and that's a cool amp.

So we go to the Magnatone booth and finally there's not a lot of people around and it's open for us to play. My brother goes first, jams a few licks and a little bit of Dr Alibi, then I try it. Can't really turn it up at the level it's intended to be at so it's not as overdriven as it should be, but I play some licks and the riff from We're All Gonna Die then the Magantone guy (same guy who's in those videos that have been shared here) is like "hey other people want to play too." Other people was just one older guy who then takes the guitar and plugs into the other amp (the baby M-80 or whatever they're calling it) and plays old man blues licks. Like dude, we just want to play for a few minutes and try it out, we're not going to stay there for a long time. Their overall presention was very disappointing too, certainly not as good of a job that Marshall or someone would've done.

Oh the amp itself is just another Marshall copy, super overrated and way overpriced. I'm sure it sounds awesome at concert volume but it's designed for one particular sound, which you can get with lots of other amps too.

Also need to keep in mind he's playing bass at the same time as singing, which for a song like this is insanely difficult. The level of focus required to exert anger while singing lyrical onslaught of a song along with playing an instrument might be a bit beyond reasonable expectation.

Honestly Todd is one of the few people in earth who can pull off what you've just described, and sound really good. I'm completely serious here. He's way more talented than most people realize.

There was this pic that looks like it's from a video shoot...

We wouldn't necessarily know in advance about a single, it could be a surprise drop at the same time as the album announcement. Drop the first single in March, wrap the SMKC tour, drop the album in May or June, tour, and repeat SMKC cycle at the end of the year... :shrugs:

I think the video shoot is related to the Magnatone amp.
