for me the best opener is Jungle. followed by ISE and Right next door to Hell.
I'd love to see locomotive open a show but don't think it compares with the songs above or even nice boys or reckless.

this needs to be the video before every gnr concert from now on!

wow I didn't realize he wrote a couple of songs for vrother cane. I liked that band.
it's a shame West couldn't get sober. ill be he could have solved a lot of (creative) problems for GNR after Izzy left.

Merchnando won’t miss up another opportunity to fleece the fans by letting TSI? tracks on an Illusions boxset.
TSI? Limited edition Big Fn Can set, will come in a 2 foot orange spaghetti can, within the can is, another can!
It’s a Russian doll /can style thing, finally you open the last can and it’s a bitchin bright orange USB stick, youre very own FN stick, with only the remastered album on it. No Video Footage for You!
Monthly payments can be made directly to Perla.
this is a great idea. but I'll hold off for the 500 dollar box set which is the russian dolls PLUS a "what we feed Axl" cookbook.

The only people aged 60 I’d expect to hear the phrase “pussy full of maggots” from are homeless crackheads ranting at the pavement.
..... which is what Axl would have become if a career in rock n roll didn't work out. lol

Probably he didnt played that one disc in the car.
Is clearly different, with new vocals in some parts and guitars.
To add. Mr brownstone is the best imo.
where are the new vocals and guitars? I just listened again (and yes it's the blue ray) and I didn't hear new guitar or vocals. (only listened to nightrain and Brownstone bc i like the videos). I mean, the songs sound clearer than the original release, but I can't say it's that different than the original. I guess I just don't have the right speakers (which I'm betting I dont)

since this is the Illusions we are talking about, isn't the most proper way for them to be celebrated is by anticipating a certain time, only to be LATE????????
and btw, I listened to the 5.1 version of AFD in my car today. can't tell a freaking difference between that and the AFD cd I've owned since 1988.

Guns N' Roses had a song on the soundtrack to a Terminator movie 30 years ago. I love that people think doing commercials is somehow at odds with the band's history. They haven't really been "the most dangerous band in the world" since the day the DJ decided to turn over the single and play Sweet Child for the first time. They're a commercial force, and have been for almost my entire lifetime. Just not a big deal to me.
I totally agree. ever see the estranged video? that's over the top. not a citi bank commercial. I mean citi bank promotes their tours and even offers pre-sale tickets. not sure if this is actually a big deal or if people are just trolling.

I'm not a singer so I can't say how hard it is to sing, but I'm really surprised they have played it so few times since UYI came out. Songs a killer. I heard them rehearse it before the Hershey show last year (minus Axl) and it was incredible. Hell, after hearing the instrumental version, I'd recommend just play that and let the crowd sing along if Axl can't sing it- just kidding, well, kind of.

I remember hearing that song was about Axl but can't remember the source.
here's a video of James talking trash during their tour in the 90s

I can't respect that. It's pure greed. I don't believe Slash when he's trying to sell this "everything is going totally great" vibe to the fans. I'm sure private conversations between Slash and Duff regarding GnR have quite a different tone.
Or maybe none of them simply gives a fuck anymore.
I definitely agree. remember back in 96 when slash and Duff said everything in GNR is fine? I distinctly remember each of them saying that in separate interviews on Howard Stern back then. and then slash quit the band.

as much as I would have loved having GNR do the superbowl 15 years ago, it would be my nightmare now. the thing most people talk about thebday after the super bowl is how bad the half time show is (regardless of who it is) and to have Axl pull some Mickey out for a billion people would make me embarrassed to be a GNR fan.
but if it has to happen, do it the most rock n roll way ever
1. back off bitch
2. my world with a 10 minute mash up of all of the most offensive gnr lyrics ever mixed in- Pussy filled with maggots, my mother- she's just a cunt now, your daddy worked in Porto, panties round your knees. all while dancers are reenacting the It's so Easy Video.
3. one in a million.
boom. Career is either over or record sales will go thru the roof
lol

everyone ages differently. 30 years ago I would have said I never want to see Axl tour as a 60 year old. but today I'm looking forward to seeing him again. No, he doesn't sound or look the same, but once GNR is done for good, my youth is officially gone.
I think he will go as long as he can physically and mentally do it, so maybe another 10 years. and then he will open a tiger zoo with Joe Exotic. just kidding..... I think.

what ever it is Axl says 2 seconds into Human Being. I got that cd the day it came out in 93 and I still can't figure out what he says.

I liked this interview because for the first time in a long time, it felt like an interview that Slash actually wanted to do. and he was even kind of funny in it.
no news, just a fun discussion

I agree with most of the music stuff
my non music holy grail is a few hours of Axl and Yoda sessions. I'd love to see how bat shit crazy that was.

the ONLY true way to celebrate the UYI era is to release a 30th anniversary box set......LATE
if they have rare cuts, I'd love to hear the stuff Adler (attempted) to play on in addition to the stuff Slash mentioned.

I don't ever listen to music on the radio so I was pleasantly surprised to see a few posts saying 93.3 wmmr in Philly plays it. I just checked their recently played music on their website and sure enough hard skool was played tonight at 8:45pm. (only time in the last 24 hours)
very cool to see.

here's my suggestion to TB on what's next- knowing that they will do the opposite I'd like to see where this goes:
next release is a 45 minute version of "it tastes good, don't it" with a cartoon video of skeleton Axl coming to life from each city's lithograph from the last 5 years and eating that city's food:
for example: Chicago deep dish pizza, LA-corn dog, Philly- Cheese steak, Milwaukee- a wheel of cheese, Jersey- um, I guess Jersey girl chotch, etc.
the follow up could be a 45 minute version of "Ain't going down" which is a video of Skelton Axl trying to unclog his toilet later that night while still making it on stage on time.
Fernando- you are welcome! I'm here for more ideas if you need them!

Even with a full AFD reunion I'm not sure it would make the waves that it would've made in 2016, since 3 of the 5 have been together already for 5 years.
great point

agreed. CALIFORNIA TAXES at that. plus there was that rumor of Duff helping Slash out financially in the beginning of NITL. not that we know if that's true or not.

what should happen?
1. release a new album
2. tour on the albums for a year or two
3. pop up arena tour featuring the AFD Five playing the entire afd album, lies and a few illusions songs
4. next leg of the tour features Gilby and Matt making guest appearances promoting their contract with Netflix which has released the behind the scenes UYI tour vault videos for a limited time
what will happen:
1. Hard Skool toy school bus
2. GNR launches a Wheel of Fortune online game. only letters the player can choose are "F" AND "N".
3. a pinball machine that costs 30 grand. there is a rubber fist that punches the player directly in the crotch at random times so he can accurately sing along to the NITL versions of our favorite hits.
4. Perla gets remarried and Slash is off the hook for alimony payments and then quits GNR

GNR for me, but that's just because the songs are far better.
I love SMKC too, big fan of the albums, but can't stand when Todd sings GNR songs.
the two shows are a different experience, but if I can only go to one, it's GNR

wait. no Hard Skool toy school bus? wtf??????

Is this Axl Rose? :/

yup this was Axl. came all the way to Philly to see his first NBA game.
I remember a day or two later the Philadelphia Inquirer had a brief story that after the game Axl had dinner at Smith and Wollensky steakhouse in the Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia and ended up giving his server a ride home in his limo.
